Pre-paid photos offered again!

This is our 3rd cruise and this time I am going to sign up for the whole package. The photographers ARE great and I think they will also do private photo sessions as well, will have to clarify.

The pictures I have bought in the past have been great memories.

:)

$475 for 593 professional pictures is an amazing price :woohoo:its only $1.25 per photo and I will definetly be taking advantage of this on our EBPC cruise next Sept. This could possibly be the last opportunity that I have to get professional pictures taken with my Mom.

This might be just me I think that the photo pricing is totally worth it, if you know what you are doing. I make sure anytime I see a photographer I take advantage of it. And I mean always! if there is a ship photographer working thr area we are in their taking our photo. And now, (think only on dream and fantasy) they have facial recognition software, so no matter what photo my kids (or me and my hubby)are in, it goes to our stateroom photos. Also there is always a photographer or two walking around on castaway cay too. Those go to your room too. It's nice to have the professional photos. I am an amateur photographer and mine come out good but they are used to shooting photos in their environment, so theirs come out better. Plus if you start buying photo by the singles you will end up paying as much if you would have just bought the whole package. Also last yea on the the dream they were testing taking photos of guests on the aqua duck, so we had a few of those. You can't take that photo yourself. I love having photos of everything so this something I am totally into. And, last, being the photographer in the family, I get to get in a photo too. Now I still take my camera everywhere but they their photographers are great. That's my take on it. Thanks for reading. :):):)

I agree 110%. I too, thought the price seemed outrageous until I realized that I pay much more than that for one sitting with a professional photographer at home. We bought the package on our last DCL trip (June 2012) and I cannot be happier with the photos we received. I got a package of over 250 pictures of our family from every possible photo op as well as improptu candid moments at dinner, at the pool, on the beach, etc and WAY MORE photos of my kids doing silly things on the Aquaduck than I could have ever hoped for. The best part was that I didn't have to take photos myself so I was in the moment (and the pictures for once!). I also found that the photographers were more than happy to take requests for certain shots.
The best part is that with the "all your prints" package you could print out as many copies of the photos as you wanted, and they were included in the price. I had copies of my favorites for all of the grand parents AND didn't have to get the kids' annual individual pics (I have fantastic formal and casual shots of each of them as well as several group shots). I wish I was going on a Disney Cruise every year because it was such a great bargain and the kids didn't complain nearly as much as they do when we have to dress up at home and go to a location to have pics taken.

Wondering if the price for pre-purchased photo is the same as the one on the ship, does anyone know? I am interested in purchasing the CD but was gonna wait till we get there, unless it's cheaper to buy it before....

As far as I can tell, the prices are the same as onboard. I think they're just making it so you can pay ahead for these things if you want to.

I looked up my Aug cruise. In the section where I can prepurchase cruise liquor, kids things, food, formal wear etc. there is NO area at the end that takes me to prepurchase of pics. That being said, I clicked on the link a previous poster provided which takes me there (thank you :). In the faqs section, it states that no pics made by appt. are included in the digital picture disks (I believe they are not included in the album either). So my question is this, if I make an appt at shutters for my family of 11 to get a picture taken, that is not included in the album or the disk? I have to pay more? OMG, please tell me I am missing something here...:confused3 Also, I had a plan...get the disk, make own pics and album from it, uh, NO...then I read the fine print.....ports of call and pics of ship are NOT on the digital disk....only in the album, which only includes 34 pics that can't be framed, so literally, even though the disk says ALL pics, it really doesn't have all, and this pushes you to buy not only the disk, but the album too $$$$$$$$. ALso, the "free disc" with the online package of disk and album purchase gets u a free disk....of how many pictures? I could not find this info. Finally, the all pics disk and prints package does NOT include all of your pics....the prints are only the ones displayed at shutters (fine print again). I obviously want pictures, but I have to say, all of the 'Fine print" is really upsetting to me. If you have to put it in fine print, then it looks to me as if you are not being straight forward, and all pics ARE NOT ALL pics (again fine print). Sorry I am ranting about this, but the more fine print I read, the more saddened I am getting upset because it seems as though things are not being straight forward and if I say the words "Fine Print" again I think I will lose my mind ugh ....:worried:

On the site it says the all prints package is only for one copy of only the pictures displayed for your group at Shutters and may not include all pics. They must have changed the number of pics allowed for you to print now :(pirate:

Is it just me (probably, lol) or is the wording on the website very misleading.... At first glance it seems when you click on the 'photo book' in products that for the 149.95 you get a cd, photobook and prints.. Then when you sit and think about it, it says if u buy both u get the random cd with Pre made pictures of some sort (it sounds like anyway). Tricky....

LOL I wish it was 149.95. ALso one last thought....the photobook choice came up on my Dream Aug trip as a purchase choice, however, on the faq page it says it is NOT an option on the Dream.....I give up:sad: I am going to bed now...:scared:

Oh wow! That really stinks! We got more than our money's worth and the shutter's CM was the one who TOLD us to make as many copies as we wanted since it was all inclusive...hmmm. I didn't pre-purchase- I paid for it once we got on board. But it was the same price quoted here..
We bought the "all prints and all images on disc" package. I have actually had photos printed from the disc several times since returning also..

How much did you pay for the "all prints and all images on disc" package onboard?

Just got off the Magic in Barcelona on Thursday (12 night). CD was $399 and all the printed photos were an additional $75. Shutters staff called it the unlimited package. There was a corrupt card and some photos of Chip and Dale never got printed but they managed to recover them to get onto the kiosks. The staff just told me to order them as reprints and it would be covered in the "unlimited" charge.

For those who don't think this is a good deal, remember this includes ALL the photos that they take. If you and your family have been thinking of doing family portraits and what not, THIS is the time to do it. They have multiple back drops...including just plain white and black. You can have non Disney photographs done professionally. If you did this at home, it would cost more than what Shutters is charging you.

Maybe because we spent 12 nights with them but the Shutters staff became our friends and started to call us by name. They even ran after us, when we walked passed them on the last sea night, to tell us our CD was ready.

We say every cruise we're not going to do it but we end up doing it anyway. LOL

Question - I heard the CD Rom comes with borders on every photo, and that they are not easily removed (unless you have Photoshop or some other editor). Is this still the case, or have they gone back to border-less? (If borders are "forced," I guess it makes my purchase decision a lot simpler...) Thanks!

Well, I just got the photos off the CD and the borders are firmly encoded onto the digital images. It used to be the other way around so I'm a little annoyed that I cannot get plain photos out of these. So if they were printed on the ship with borders, they come with borders on the CD.

Thanks for the info, I am thinking of pre-purchasing the CD -$399, just the CD. Approximate how many photos were on your CD, just trying to figure out if it would be worth it. I am also very interested on the no-Disney shots.
Thanks

We had 197 photographs...but it was just us 2 adults. There were no children in our party. If you've got kids, I think that number will just balloon from all the photo opportunities.

If you're lucky, you'll see the Shutters photographers on your Port Adventures excursions. We didn't so we have no photos on land with them (well, one in Villefranche after tendering). We complained to them about not seeing them on land and they said that they were being allowed 2 photographers each port and it just depended on which excursions they were being sent on. They said they reported to the hotel director but Port Adventures reports to the cruise director ... so CD trumps HD. LOL But anyway, if you manage to get a Shutters photographer on land, that'll increase the number of photos you get. I know somebody who got 2 CD's this past trip ... they have two little kids.

Funny thing, when I first saw this thread, I went to my cruise and pre-purchased the CD. I was charged the VAT and everything. Now I went to in room gifts and shopping again and I see that it is no longer an option? :confused3 I wondered why they took it away? Did that happen to anyone else?

It was there for me the other day before this thread was posted. Now it's not there at all :confused3 We sail 7/13 on the Med too. I should have gotten it when I had the chance :(

These are the same prices we saw on a 4night Dream last week. The only difference I can see is that by preordering you get a signed character photo- that's not part of the onboard options.

For someone who asked why- I withheld judgement on the ship photos until we got there. I figured it would be like photopass- hit or miss. Nope, these guys are amazing. I wish we had gotten more photos taken. Our friends who travelled with us had less photos done so the value was less for them. I suggest keeping an open mind and still taking your own photos, but the ship photographers do a great job.

We just got off the Dream last week. ALL of the photo viewing kiosks around the ship were advertising the photo book and you could design it there. So the photo book IS available on the Dream. The FAQ may need to be updated.
