Disney Cruise Brides!!! Part Deux!!

FYI.. we were able to board a Royal Caribbean ship for a ceremony and got off before they sailed! SIL was married on the allure in august and hubby gave her away. We went in separate entry w/staff. We were escorted on/off the ship, but got to explore the ship while waiting for ceremony!!! If we had time after I could have too.

So check w/DCL.. we went out of Fort Lauderdale.

Our wedding is so far away, I keep forgetting to come back here and congratulate/welcome new cruise brides!! :confused3

So, with 63 weeks to go until our WBTA cruise and wedding, I have found my shoes. Well, not the exact pair as they are all individually designed for each person. What do you think?

Mine will have a DCL, Magic and wedding theme and I am busy collecting pictures for the lady to use. She can do anything ... I'm having a pair done for october as Mick and I are off to Australia for his cousins wedding. I'm going to have all things Australian and Perth specifically on them ... I know that nobody else will have the same at least!!:cool1:

Which cruise are you planning on? I only ask because we are marrying on a Med one and have to have the legal part back home.

It's because you can't marry in the middle of the ocean. You could have done a legal ceremony in Barcelona, but then if you do it there, you may as well do it in Oxfordshire!
We're getting married on the Tranny next year but also have the legal ceremony at home first. That legal ceremony means nothing to us though .. Mick is turning up in his lunch hour in his lorry to do it and I'll pop out in mine too wearing whatever tat I happen to have on that day (I work from home). We have 2 witnesses lined up and they are people who are not cruising with us. Our onboard ceremony will be our proper wedding as far as I'm concerned.

The 4 day Bahamian Cruise. My fiance is trying to make everyone happy but I'm feeling like I have to alter everything I want just to fit his family's financials. I am the one paying for everything wedding related. I know doing an at-home legal ceremony is an option, but worry it would feel weird having two ceremonies.

I would go with the onboard wedding with the 2 witnesses, treat the oboard ceremony as your real wedding as we are doing, then have a reception back home for those poeple who couldn't make the cruise.
You can then wear your dress again, do some dancing and have another cake!! nom nom :cool1:

I love love love your shoes bats. There's a guy on FB called Kapow he paints them too he's fantastic.

We are treating the legal bit the same as you more of a necessity than occasion.

The shoes I added are decoupaged .. layers of different pictures and laquered into place. I've found the lady really helpful so far and I can't wait to ge tmy first pair!

Question, this may sound dumb once I read it, but do DCL Brides do Bouquet tosses on board?

Why does it sound dumb? If you want to do that tradition, then go for it! :thumbsup2

Ok here is my first question...lol how do you get your tickers to work??

Thanks in advance!

Welcome Sharon :wave2:
I think you've sorted your ticker out which is good as I don't have one so have no clue how they work!
The Disney Dream is a beautiful ship .. do you have an idea of where you'd like to get married or have you not go that far?
Do you have lots of people coming or is it just you and that Knight in shining armour of yours? :)

Hi Joan! We are going to get married on the ship when we are docked at Nassau. This is technically a renewal but I never had a true wedding. So I will be wearing the whole Princess gown with full train and veil and not to forget the tiara! I have 4 grown kids from a previous marriage ( no wedding) 6 grand kids and I am proud to say I am only 48!! So all the kids are going and some other family members. December of 2014 is not going to come quick enough!!

Totally awesome shoes! I love the idea of having Australian themed pics for the cousin's wedding trip :)

Thank you everyone for the advice in regards to my - do I do a legal ceremony or not- issue. I appreciate it!

Those are fantastic! Do you get to request specific favorite characters/movies, or are they just going to be anything & everything Disney-themed ? Either way, they're super cute! They'll make for awesome photos :)

Keep those questions coming!!

Hello everyone! My name is Katie, and i'm so excited, the future husband and I just put our down payment for our Disney wedding cruise aboard the Dream for the June 22-26th 2014 sailing! I have a million and one questions but I want to make sure I read through the entire thread before I ask anything that might have been answered already! I've been trying to scout out good videos that show the ceremony aboard the ship.. a lot of the youtube videos I've watched have been more along the lines of a slideshow of pictures.. and I was curious to see how they "Disneyfy" the music during the wedding. I can't wait to get to know and learn from all of you! :cheer2:

Hi Disney Brides! I am on a hunt looking for Brides or anybody that will be on the same cruise as I am. I will be renewing my vows...but I should say that it is full Disney Dream Wedding. I have never had a wedding so know I am getting my full Princess wedding. Well back on track know....I will and my whole crew be on the Disney Dream December 15-19 2014.

I am getting myself involved in so many things for this cruise not only am I getting married I will be involved in the FE on the ship. I have 6 grand kids that would love to get involved in that.

Can't wait to here from anybody that is going to be on that cruise :)

Was wondering if anyone out there has plans for the Magic after the big dry dock refurbishment. I've been told that deck 7 will no longer be an option. Anyone have any ideas? I hope they won't move all ceremonies inside!

I do hope that's not true. I had my heart set on marrying out on deck 7. I've had no notification from Meredith to say I couldn't. How do you know this?
Thanks

My husband and I were married on the Magic on June 2. It was magical for sure. You will be given a list of songs that the pianist can play. Some are Disney songs and some are traditional wedding songs. You can also bring a CD to play whatever you want. Meredith will send you the information. The wedding was beautiful and so was the cake, flowers, music, all of it, with one exception....the pictures. I think we are the only ones who had a problem. We paid for the Disney photographer on the ship and all of our pictures are over exposed and/or blurry except 3 or 4. Fortunately there were people above taking pictures and they forwarded them to us. They are so much better. We were treated like royalty the entire cruise. Everyone knew who we were as we were the only couple married that week on the cruise. So many people congratulated us, little girls wanted their pictures taken with us. It was amazing to feel so special. It was a dream come true, and I only had one month to plan it. Proposal May 1, wedding June 2!!! Enjoy your planning it so much fun. We got tee shirts printed "Soul" "Mate" with MM ears. DH wore the Mickey top hat with ears around the ship, and I wore my Minnie ears and veil. It was the only chance I had, so I took advantage of it! At Palo's our table was specially selected for dinner and for brunch, complete with our beautiful ivory roses, and our dining table was a private one in each dining room, just for the two of us. Fellow cruisers left magnets and notes on our door, and banners. Get in a FE group and let them know it is your wedding. Everyone loves a wedding!
Susan
