Since planning our trip so long ago, we have changed resorts 4 times! Is this abnormal?

We planned our trip so long ago. We did not want to spend the money on a Deluxe resort and decided on POFQ based on someone I work with who said it was the best moderate. We booked. After looking at pictures, I was not thrilled with the main pool or the food court.

My husband talked about how much he loved The Grand Californian in California when we were at Disneyland so I switched to surprise him. He found out by looking at The Disney Boards - I did not think he looked at all. He did not want to spend the extra $2K.

We watched a lot of You Tube videos and changed to Port Orleans Riverside.

After reading many reviews - I got interested in Coronado Springs since it supposedly has a more adult feel. So we decided on our final resort - Coronado Springs King Business Class.

It's totally normal to make that many changes. There are just so many amazing resorts, I think it's abnormal to not have 2nd thoughts and change resorts. $2K more is a lot to upgrade to a Deluxe, but we're splurging on one this trip.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day. We went to my sister's house and had lunch for Mother's Day and my brother's birthday. Clancy, the Irish Wolfhound almost sat in my lap, but then just sat beside me. Which was a good thing because I bet if he stood on just his hind legs, he would be taller than I am (and I'm 5'5"). I did get a lot of good snuggle time with Holly, the Beagle. She felt better, but still has staples.

I have a minor RC to report. We have decided to do another super-duper split!!! I switched out 2 nights at the YC for 2 nights RPC TPV

New itinerary:
Poly CL - 8/7-8/10
GF RPC TPV - 8/10-8/12 (my b-day is the 11th )
YC CL - 8/12-8/15
AKV Kidani - 8/15-8/17

Ooooh, as I'm typing an email from the GF IPO just popped up. Great response time, I just booked last night! Off to see if I can book a cabana for my birfday...

Did you get that cabana? Your split is looking LOVERLY!

I'm going to have to go check out our new Target store maybe this week. Things were too crazy at work last week, and I was too tired after work to bother I have heard on the news the pricing isn't as low as the U.S. stores!!

Higher prices? Eeeeep. That's a shame.

Less than stellar day here yesterday. I won't bother blah-blahing about it... because today's a new day and it's sunny out. I was up at 3am looking at Disney stuff -- can't think of anything better to do when I can't sleep! Miss M's home from school (administration day) Gotta go get her hair cut... she's starting to give Cousin It a run for the money.

I've got a quick little change to report!!! Instead of ASMO in Sept, we are staying at the CR!!! (Garden wing, standard view)

We just think the price is worth it (especially since we are splitting it) to be within walking distance to MK for the MNSSHP and then monorail to Epcot for food and wine!!!

Booked with AAA discount, but hoping for military discount to be renewed because if it is then our room will be half paid off with the deposit!!

We planned our trip so long ago. We did not want to spend the money on a Deluxe resort and decided on POFQ based on someone I work with who said it was the best moderate. We booked. After looking at pictures, I was not thrilled with the main pool or the food court.

My husband talked about how much he loved The Grand Californian in California when we were at Disneyland so I switched to surprise him. He found out by looking at The Disney Boards - I did not think he looked at all. He did not want to spend the extra $2K.

I did book a cabana, although after perusing the GF thread I'm not sure I'm gonna keep it. Seems it still may be too noisy by the Beach Pool. We'll see. I have my Poly cabana day still booked so I may just keep the one.

Oh yes, I definitely think the change will be worth it!!! It's so nice staying at a monorail resort and since you're going to MNSSHP, the walking distance between CR and MK will be more than worth it!!

I hope it does too, and in our house as well. Although I had some trouble with JM this morning. He's sneaking eating sweet stuff again due to not sleeping. The DH made me stop giving him the Melatonin because he didn't want him having it because he was worried about it. I'm putting him back on it tonight.

She is even more beautiful with her hair like that. All she needs is the yellow ball gown and she would make a great Belle.

If we leave the MK right when they start making everyone leave at 7 PM because of MNSSHP, would we have time to make it to the Poly (either by monorail or ferry) by 7:50 PM (when we would need to check into 'Ohana in order to check in 15 minutes early)? If we'll be ok to leave at 7 PM, which way is better monorail or ferry? If we need to leave earlier, how early would you suggest us leaving?

oooo, if the fireworks aren't until around 10 PM, then maybe we'll have enough time to eat and then get onto the beach with a Lapu Lapu by firework time.

Wookie, EDITED Again! now I'm not sure what time the fireworks started the year we were there.....did a google search for you .. seems 2012 parades were at 8:15 pm and 10:30 pm...and HalloWishes were at 9:30 pm....so FWIW, that's what I found

The parade is fabulous... as you probably know, it starts with the headless horseman!!

You should have plenty of time to make a 8:05pm ADR at Ohana leaving at 7pm. Remember that a good portion of people will be staying on for the party.

Not sure on the transpo question - other ladies are sure to know.

Thanks Janet & Wookie! The poor woman cutting her hair had to kneel on the ground (with Miss M standing the whole time) just to make sure it was even. Horrible mommy that I am, she hasn't had it trimmed since right before school started! It was getting a bit crunchy on the ends, to say the least.

I think you'll have enough time, if you leave at 7 or maybe a couple few minutes before if you see a rush of folks leaving. You can always take a gander at lines for the monorail vs. the ferry. Sometimes, getting the Express and walking from the TTC over to the Poly is quicker. (Actually both times we stayed at the Poly, we only rode the resort monorail twice.) The walk from the TTC to the Poly is only about 5 minutes and you can even take a lil' stroll through the grounds instead of walking around the front.
