September 2013 Watch

I just got an ad in the mail today.

It's offering $181 per night 9-14 thru 9/30 for Moderate (standard room most nights).

I take it that's because we messed around on the disney website with pricing for Sept. stay. That is down from about $221 per night when we first were poking around for POR.

Might just book that-- then wait and see if any FL res. ticket specials come out in the summer. And just dine out of pocket (since that's a minimal expense for us anyway because 5 of us split 3 meals and we almost exclusively eat counter service, and we bring our own diabetic breakfast & snack foods).

I guess that's not too bad its less than 20% but hey its something and if its like the summer special when you add tickets and dining they will be a little cheaper as well!

Im at POFQ if normal FD comes out Ill keep that ressie if RO code comes out Ill switch to ASMu.. Sigh I miss the days of staying at the Poly and GF...BUT as long as DH and I get to go Im happy!

Waiting for a September/October Discount as well. We have been going every fall for the past 5 yearsish. Each year it was with free dining. That is the best discount for us as we are 3 adults.
Airlines tickets have been purchased (Southwest)
I have been making ADRs one day at a time too!
Would love to have the Room/Dining/Ticket portion booked too, but I'm waiting.

I also have Plan B, C, and D in mind if free dining is not released.

Planning a mommy and me trip with a friend of mine and our toddlers. Considering either Sept 10-15 or Sept 17-22. Any input would be great!

If I were you I'd base it on Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

If you're going to it, the later Week is about when it starts.

If not, go the earlier week so your schedule doesn't clash with early closing of the Magic Kingdom for the party.

Judging by the park hours for September, there will be a party on Sept. 13 (Friday). There has always been one that Friday each year, usually the second one. The first is typically the Wednesday before.

The first party is night of joy. That's usually the first weekend of September.

Another vote for "God, I hope like heck there is free dining!!!"

We are booked anyway from Sept 12-21st. Planning on doing our first Halloween Party as well as the Villians Party on the 13th.

We also have an Illuminations Cruise booked for Sat September 14th. It is only the 2 of us so far, but we are looking for 8 more to share!! If we can fill the boat, it would be about $40 per person (this includes tip to driver). Let me know if you are interested!!!:yay:

We will be there on the 14th.. myself, husband, 4 kids - ages 2, 5, 12, 14. Definitely interested in the cruise! Can you tell me more about it? I've been to Disney 11 times, but somehow have never done the cruise.

Thanks,:cool1:

Do you think they will have a MNSSHP when they are having the Villains party at HS on the 13th as well?

Anyone know if they plan on charging (God I hope not) for the Villain party?

It appears to be the first party date, and the villains party is part of the Limited Time Magic promotion. There should be no charge.

I'm a little confused. When is the first MNSSHP date in September? And what is the Villains Party on the 13th? Is it free?

In 2013 Disney is Doing Limited Time Magic where they do special things on different dates through out the yr.

Fri Sept 13 is a Villains party at HS now they haven't actually gave any real info except that the park will be open until the 13th hour and have villains..

Sept 13 looks also to be the first MNSSHP of the season..

Im a big fan of the villains and its ou 5 yr anniversary that day so its PERFECT for DH and I

Why do you think Sept. 13 is the first party? Why not Tuesday, Sept. 10? MK closes at 7:00 that night and that Friday (which is the 13th this year) has never been the first party. Just curious...

I would think that Tuesday the 10th would be the first party date as well. Last year we did MNSSHP on the very first night and it was on Tuesday, which was September 11th. This is historically speaking of course, but given that the MK closes at 7 pm that night, I would think that would be the first party date.

Hi Courtney,

We would need to meet at the Yacht Club dock at about 8:00 p.m. I already have a reservation, but don't have to pay for it until I get there. The boat leaves at 8:30 and includes snacks (I believe pretzels, chips, etc in the small single serve bags) and pop/water. You can have food delivered as well, but must do it through them (I believe you can get cakes and champagne and things like that). We would boat our way over to under the International Gateway Bridge where we sit with the other boats and watch Illuminations. I guess we would be on the boat for about an hour. Again, it is like $346.XX plus driver tip, so if we get 10 people and everyone chips in $40, that would be like a $40 tip to the driver. We have never done it ourselves, I am actually surprising my hubby as the day before is our anniversary.

Let me know!!

Cheryl
