ADisneyQueen, I just cancelled 4 LM rooms for the beginning of August. With the new specials out I changed to 2 LK suites. Keep checking, this was a Visa special and the GP specials start April 2 so a lot people will be changing rooms during the next week.

We are staying in the nemo suites. Any requests I should make at on-line check in? Better area or building? ( I understand it is a request, not a guarantee)

This has probably been discussed already but it is such a large thread. LOL
The Little Mermaid rooms seem like miles away from the buses! Any opinions on the walk to and from each day! I have a 7 and 4 year old!! Thanks for your help!!

My friend is a cast member at AOA front desk. She said they get many many complaints about the walking distance of the little mermaid rooms. She also told me from the back little mermaid building it is a quicker walk to POP's main building than it is to AOA's main building.

That being said, I still don't think it is as spread out as say PO riverside.

That's interesting. So we could walk over and wait in their bus lines??

Yep!! That brownie was fantastic. I really enjoyed the Surf and Turf burger as well. Yummy!!

And they travel really well!!!

Sure. We did it for the ride home occasionally depending on the lines or which bus came first. I don't see the point of going there to catch a bus unless you were eating or shopping at POP.

Honestly, while we were there, we had zero problems with the busses. I think we waited max 10 minutes for a bus in our whole stay!

AoA might be further since it's a value, but the transportation is great.

We stayed in The Little Mermaid section in October and early in our trip the walk wasn't that bad, especially in the mornings. However, later in the trip coming back from all day at the parks, the walk seemed very long! If you want to stop at the food court, you would want to do that before you travel back to your room. There were a couple of nights that I drove to the food court to refill our mugs :)

mybatmobile87- Just curious how close to your arrival date those nights opened up? I'm really hoping I can get those rooms sooner rather than later. I know at the 45 day mark some people cancel packages so maybe that will work out.

I hope you received my PM in time to get a room. We will be there the same time as you. Good luck on getting your rooms!

I have a question about the bus for AoA. I am wanting to know where the bus stop is located at the parks. At the end of a park day is the AoA bus stop the farthest walk from the park exit?

There is no set spots. They change them up from time to time. During our last trip, our stop at MK was different all 3 days.

This set of bus stop photos is from research I did in August 2012, so certainly these may have already changed, or could even be swapped during your visit. But this gives you an idea the type of bus stop assignment AoA receives, or has received.

#6 Animal Kingdom
#13 Hollywood Studios
#15 Magic Kingdom
#14 Epcot

Yea when we went in November AoA were the last TWO spots after POP century. Hoping this time around they've bumped us up a little closer :)

Too bad bus stops aren't in alphabetical order ;-) ((I've said that for years though))

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

As of last week, it was the closest spot at AK, second to last at MK (B side), and not the last but definitely not the closest at HS and EPCOT. But they do change and changed during the week when we were there.

We are thinking about changing our resort for our stay in Augugst and I just had a few questions.

First, are the doors metal? We want to be able to decorate our door like we've done in the past.

Second, to enter the room, do you have to insert your key into the door, or do you just touch a pad (or something similar)?

That is all the questions i have for now, but i'm sure more will come! TIA!:goodvibes

I asked a few days ago, but I think the question got lost with the bus talk:rotfl: I going to start on-line check-in in a few days. We are staying in the Nemo Suites. What will be my options for requests when I do this on-line? Are there any requests you think I should make? A better building in the Nemo area, etc. Thanks in advance!!

ETA: I understand it is a request, not a guarantee

First, the doors at LM are metal for certain. I decorated them using magnets.

Second, you touch your KTTK to the touch pad to unlock the door.
