2013 Free Dining Watch

I found a site that lists dates and says it will be released this week. Hope the dates are wrong cause I don't want to move my dates! But if it will save me a bunch of money I'll move it from sept to October. Here's the dates it hints at....

9/30/1210/4/12
10/19/1211/1/12
11/9/1211/15/12
11/23/1211/29/12
12/10/1212/13/12

Same criteria as last year...quick serve at values and regular dining at mods...little mermaid rooms at AoA excluded.

Hope this site has the correct dates so I can finally lock in my trip dates!

That info is from last year. I found that when I searched too and another site that also posted an "alert" that for some reason when you google free dining fall 2013, it is bringing you to 2012 info.

If you would have double checked it you would have realized that these dates are all for 2012!!!!
The site where these dates are published meanwhile shows a disclaimer that google mixep two posts and that this specific post was from last year and that until today no dates have been published!!

Goodness, was there not a nicer way to say this? :confused3

Thanks for the heads up on me posting the wrong info! But I swear the site said 2013. Crossing my fingers I was mixed up and they have dates earlier in September.

Is free dining usually only offered on 5+ day packages? My wife is considering taking her mother and our daughter for a Fri, Sat and Sunday night stay (returning) on Monday and we have never had free dining.

If offered, would a three night stay be eligible?

So you're saying that there's going to be free dining over Thanksgiving and leading right up until Christmas? Don't see how that makes sense for Disney.

We've been utilizing the free dining plan offer in the last week of August for the past couple of years. Hopefully we can do it gain this year!

I saw the same thing and was confused, but kept looking and then read the other site that posted an update on 3/7 about how even though you're searching for 2013, it's still showing 2012.

The dates are definitely off because Thanksgiving is 11/28 this year and they wouldn't offer free dining over Thanksgiving. Last year it was 11/22, and that is why there is that gap in the dates you posted (the week of 11/16-11/23 - which incidentally are the dates I'm going this year.)

Also, earlier in September might be included in the late summer / early fall dates which I think are announced earlier than the later fall dates.

Sorry folks but I thought I should bring you all back to reality in the same tough way then I came back after I found this out ;-)
So let's keep on waiting and think positive :goodvibes

So, I've been thinking (I know, dangerous, right?). Fall (September/October) is usually a slower (by Disney standards, I know there's really not a slow time) time period, and spring (Spring Break, Easter, etc) is typically a busier time. And Disney has offered a decent discount for this time period. So it would make sense that it will offer some sort of discount for fall. And, before I'm corrected, I know no one has said there won't be a discount at all. I think I'm just trying to convince myself.

October is not a quiet time as far as hotels go. Lots of conventions, lots of people traveling from the UK as the schools have a fall break. As a matter of fact the last couple of years the middle of October has not seen any discounts

There will be something. We just have to be patient. Especially those traveling in Oct-Dec. those deals typically come out in July or even early August.

I have a question- do u guys already book your fall vacations and then add "free dining" on if its offered? I was thinking of going nov 2013. Was going to book air travel as soon as I see a better price ( out of Cleveland it's lookin like $300 a per).

So I guess my real ? Is- should I just book and reserve room (pop non preferred) and tickets soon? Or just wait til July when any deals come out. I'm just wanting to do it the best way.

Thx for advice.

I think the general rule of thumb is, if you are going either way, whether you get FD or not, go ahead and book. If you won't go unless you get FD, some folks feel that more bookings lessens the chance of Disney releasing a discount to fill rooms. I don't know if that is sound logic and really don't have an opinion either way. So, it's just whatever you're more comfortable with.

If you are making ADR's then yes I would suggest booking. We will most likely go regardless of the discount and I do not want to miss out on booking my ADR's waiting for a discount. I am have a lot of faith *something* will be released not sure what!?

Okay thx for input. I'm thinking that I should do plane tix first cuz that needs paid in full at time of purchase.

When you book room and tix they only need one nts $ down ? Or does that need paid in full. I ask because I'm in the middle of still saving -
This is why I was thinking I need a travel agents. Also we will mostly b doing counter service.
Thx

If you book a room and ticket package, it requires a $200 deposit with the full balance due 45 days before check in.
