Andre, you have a nice map overlay above. Any chance that could find it's way to page 1 along with the map of room types/categories?? That would sure be helpful for newcomers and for those who only stop by occasionally. Thanks!

So as POFQ is right next to Epcot, here's how it would fit (to scale) if you moved it a bit and dropped the whole resort onto Innoventions:

As you can see, the distance from the far end of building 1 at French Quarter all the way over to the other end of building 7 is about the same as the walk from the entrance of The Land over to Mission Space.


Or at The Magic Kingdom, the whole of POFQ would span from the entrance of Adventureland over to Space Mountain:

Of course the above would mean replacing Stitch's Great Escape with a swimming pool, but that sounds like a reasonable idea to me...

I just posted that awesome pic of POFQ in the rain by expressmonorail as my wallpaper on my iPad. I'm thinking GV upper floor, outside corner, buildings 6 or 4 preferably? I was going to do River View, but not sure it's worth the extra money since you don't have private balconies.

Due to the small size of the resort, I never think it's worth the extra money to upgrade the room, but that's just my opinion

Why thank you. Physically I may be 46 (soon to be 47) but mentally I am stuck at a much younger age. Being an older mom (dd 10 and ds 6) it does help being this way. I am the one that has to convince them to go on RnR, ToT etc.

Saturday can't get here soon enough. Just good friend and I going for four days.

Yes, we are staying at POFQ. We just booked a standard room this time. Normally we do a garden, but since it is just us, we don't really care.

I do know I don't want to be near the pool.

How was building 6 in relation to pool and food court, bus stop, etc.? Thinking of requesting that building if we decide on FQ for our trip. River view

If you want to be on the river, then you will be in the rooms farthest from the bus stop and food court. But the walk was very short in our opinion. As for the pool, I liked being in Building 6 better than 5 since 5 is right there at the pool but Building 6 gives you a bit of space away from it. (I would never pay for a pool-view room -- you'd have to pay ME to take one.) For us it was a quick walk through Building 5 to get to the pool. Not a problem at all.

Adults are allowed on the pool slide? I had a terrible experience on a slide 20+ years ago at a water park in VA and have not been on one since -- too scared. I'd really like to try a little slide just for the fun of it, but I thought adults weren't allowed. I'm planning on doing a roller coaster for the first time in 20+ years on this trip. Might as well do a slide too!

Done. I've also update a few other items in the first-post FAQ which needed tweaking for 2013 too. If someone could give it a quick read-through and let me know if there are any silly mistakes in there? Thanks.

So I showed DH videos and pics of both FQ and Riverside. (And the RGRs) He seemed like he was with me in leaning toward FQ until seeing the RGRs vs the FQ rooms. I think the pool and slide at FQ would be better for our DS6 and DD2 than POR and I like the idea of the smaller resort and 1 bus stop. Thoughts?

Also, how busy does the FQ pool get in the summer (early August)?

Yup! DH (32) and myself (30) enjoyed the slide in January. And if anyone is wondering, there is NOT a weight limit on it. DH and I are not precisely small, and I about died laughing when he asked the lifeguard, "So, how fat can you be and ride the slide?" I thought the lifeguard was going to choke trying not to laugh. "As large as you want sir, as large as you want."
