We finished! Had a good time :) I don't feel near as bad as I did after Tink. We didn't end up waiting in any character lines, but did stop at all mile markers and places like the castle and space ship earth. Saw MamaCate(I think I spelled it wrong) on the course. Everyone seemed to love BF's princes protection agency shirt! It was awfully humid out there...made for a few rank spots, lol! Thank God the the sun didn't come out an it stayed breezy!!!!!!! Hope to see some Princesses tonight at Be Our Guest...bf and I are here 'til Wednesday late afternoon! Congrats to everyone who got out there today!

Yeah for you....I am happy with my time...slower than what I wanted but DH and I are happy. We started in corral E and the crowd just didn't let up....and as someone else said...no race etiquette :(

Well, I finished! It was tough, but idid my first and last 1/2.

DH and I haven't decided on doing another...would like to see less people and maybe I could go faster

Hope everyone else did okay. I ended up DNFing because of the heat and humidity. Judging by the fact there are at least 30 other people on the bus I am far from alone.

I pretty much knew it was a lost cause when I got to mile 4 and couldn't run without mild nausea. Feeling better now at least (I was also having problems drinking starting around mile 4). Maybe next year.

Oh girl it was humid even for this San Antonio gal...think that the training on humidity helped somewhat. Did you get a medal ?

I'll agree on the etiquette, for the first time, I encountered some just downright RUDE folks out there. Totally unnecessary and disappointing.

Yes, I too have to agree with the rude folks. I've done many 5ks and never encountered rude peeps. I am sitting at the Laguna bar having a beer-yummy!

I agree with the comments about being way over capacity. I gave up in a decent time when we got to MK. Stopped for almost all the characters after that and finished with a time of 3:41:)

But we still did it!

My hubby and I finished but it was down right HOT, much more then last year. My goal was 3 hours and we finished in 3:04 so I got pretty close.

A big thanks to all of you for all the motivation and kindness the last several months. You are all a wonderful group. Congrats to you all!!!

Sorry about your DNF, I'm sure it was disappointing to have to make that decision...or have your body make it for you, but better to play it safe. It definitely was crazy humid. I can't even imagine how steamy it would have gotten had the sun come out. I felt a twinge of nausea/stomach cramp myself I think a bit after mile 7. Fortunately it passed in a few minutes and didn't return.

Yeah one thing I was grateful for was the lack of sun. If it had been out I don't think I would have even made it to the Magic Kingdom like I did.

I did get a medal. They do hand it out to those who DNF the race. But I still don't have my Coast to Coast medal (that you actually have to finish the race to get, I checked). On the bright side I might be coming back for Wine and Dine. It all depends on three things: a) expenses, b) my friend's wedding, and c) when I'm having my bariatric surgery (best case scenario would be to have it the week after Dumbo since that will have me back to eating solids by November).

I really need to find a post-bariatric surgery running group so I can learn how to adjust my running diet pre-surgery.

Okay guys I am hoping one of you might be able to answer this question which of the following is the smallest:

Carribean Beach
Animal Kingdom Lodge
Beach Club
Boardwalk

Congrats ladies! Whether you finished or not, you at least started and think of how many people never even get to that point in their lifetime! I was very, very happy with my time, 2:55 officially on the race course, but I ran with my Nike app and paused it when in line for characters and bathroom breaks, so my actual run time was 2:33:11. On my one and only 13.1 training run, I ran it in 2:24:xx. Of course that was without having to account for crowding, weaving and the a few scenery pics that I didn't pause my run app for! I met a couple of you on the race course, it was nice to run into other DISers! I started toward the front of B and did not encounter many rude people, but did nearly trip over people who would just stop without looking behind them to account for foot traffic. Very rude, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are inexperienced race runners and didn't know better. My overall experience was that this was well organized and efficient. I'm sorry that several of you had less than stellar experiences with the massive crowd. I haven't decided if I want to run again next year. I enjoyed this experience but it's very hard on my knee joints. I'm not sure if I want to continue longer distance races, but my sis in law is very interested in running next year so I may be back to at least cheer her on if I don't participate!

Also was I the only one that saw the somewhere in the middle pacer and got completely thrown off? Wish they had warned us they were using another pacer along with the finisher pacers this year for the first time. I freaked when I saw him at mile 4 because they had never done that before in any of the RD races I've done. And then he wouldn't give a very straight answer as to whether or not he was the sweeping pacer.

I was there at opening yesterday. Official Merch. area was pure "H E double hockey sticks" plus quiet the fire hazard. Grid lock and you could not move. I'm shocked at how bad it was. No C2C shirts :( It also makes me sad since this was my first time running at WDW. I guess I was expecting a better expo experience. Think I'll stick to the races in Anahiem.

I feel the same way! In DL I think we are spoiled.. Also couldn't STAND the humidity here. I'm sticking to the west coast from now on!

Just an FYI, normally the expo isn't held at Coronado. It's usually held at the Wide World of Sports. However, the Braves were playing or doing something which forced the move.

The humidity, well that is one thing Disney can't control!! ;)

CONGRATS PRINCESSES!!!! What a day!! I got to see DH at the finish. He slowed his pace a lot and i actually got a pic of him! His final time was 2:52. Not bad as he didn't train for this as much as he wanted to due to smashing his knee at work last month. I got him a mickey rose and he was so happy! We had lunch at biergarten for the first time, YUM! He is napping now and we are headed to MK in a bit.

He said his favorite part besides running through the castle was the monorails "honking" at them! That is super cool! The medal is ABSOLUTLEY GORGEOUS. I'm pretty jealous but i know I didn't run for the best reason. Being sick from our little baby growing. We are at coronado all week so say hi if you see us!

Hey, that is great about the rose! I was beat when I got done, but we did it! I've been at the CSR since Fri, going home tomorrow. I'm at the Poly right now having a drink.
