May 18, 2013 MAGIC EBTA - Who is with us?

Ok, the post about the other inbox on FB got me curious and I went and looked at mine. I had no idea this thing existed! I have messages going back to 2008 that I've never seen!

I also had one message from a Disser in there. I am so glad that I was alerted to the other inbox and

at least got to respond to that message.

Folks, go check yours!

I had 10, never knew about this at all

Thanks for the heads up. I had 3 old and unimportant messages there, but one from this week that was important. I wonder how some messages end up there?
All the messages were from groups I belong to or pages I've liked and also from people that aren't on my friends list. Including two people trying to figure out if I'm a Kirsten from their past. Thankfully, I am not the Kirsten they were looking for, so they probably figured I'd seen it and didn't reply for that reason. Little do they know, I never saw them!
Going to look now!?! :moped: So do those not come to your phone??? :confused3
I FB and Dis from my laptop. So I think it's across the board.

Well...I had 18 messages in there and one was from Kirbo!!! Sorry about that, I really wasn't ignoring you! It was from July wanting permission to join the FB group. I don't like that "other" folder. :rolleyes2
:rotfl: Well, somehow you knew to add me.
Yeah, now, with FB - you can PAY to have a message go to someone's inbox (if you are not their "Friend" on FB) ............that's why I always send a normal post to let someone know I've PM them and to check their "other" folder.....

Once you've corresponded with that person once, though, then their messages show up in your FB Inbox....
Oh, I don't like that :badpc:

But mine went all the way back to 2008 when I joined. Is the paying thing new?

If there is space I would be interested in the Kid Friendly Tour B with possibly the Dolphin option. It would be for 3 of us... Me and my two DDs. :)

DisneyMouseHouse info is correct, and we'd be staying on for the dolphin tour - and THANK YOU AGAIN for doing this!

Yes, the paying thing is new - so now, if you go to msg someone who is not your friend, you have the options of:
1. Paying $1 and having it go to their "Inbox" (so they see and know about it) OR
2. Not paying and having it go to their other folder....

However, if it's someone you don't know, then don't answer - their messages will continue to be accrued in your "other" folder.....and if it's not someone you are friends with, then if they can PM you, it's not a biggie - and their messages (after your first response or choosing to move them to your inbox) will allow them to be received in your inbox....you CAN change this in FB, no problems.

I still have to check with my hubby to see if he wants to do this! He has been hard to reach today! Hopefully I will know by tonight. I hope that's okay?

That is fine, I figured I would contact them tomorrow once people have time to see the posts, discuss and confirm.

I am somewhat new to these boards and have some questions. My husband and I have discussed doing the FE but we both had some questions. These might have been covered already so I am sorry if they are repeats. Also they might be covered somewhere else so please let me know if they are.

1. Is there a price min or max to the gifts?
2. Do you give a gift to each stateroom each day of the cruise?
3. Is there a set time and day to deliver gifts?
4. Do you give just one gift per stateroom or to each person in the stateroom?
5. Where can you find a FE? Either to buy or make?( btw I am not crafty)

Thank you so much for any help you can give me. My husband is not sure about doing this, but I know our daughter would love it. It sounds like so much from everything I read!

Not in charge of this FE, but to find out how to make one, here's a post to help you get started: (not all are sewn, some are done from Duct Tape and are EXTREMELY cute!).

Here's another post about FE gifts:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1980639

Also, there is a FB group called DISNEY CRUISE LINE FISH EXTENDERS (It's a closed group so you'll have to ask to join to help hold down on spammers)...they discuss both FE's and FE gifts....

Also, as a BROAD statement about FE's:
1. I don't know of any FE group that has imposed a min/max
2. Generally one gift - either one per stateroom, or one per person, or whatever you feel comfortable with - I personally do one stateroom gift (geared more to the adults) and then one gift for each child (something a bit more "fun" - but not expensive).....depends for me on who is in the room!
However, I also know some who have done something where you do get one gift each day (but they were smaller?? BUT no less useful or appreciated!
3. Depends on the group whether they decide to tell you when to deliver
4. See answer #2 :)

Hope that helps.......

Thanks so much for helping! I understand it a little more now and the thread you referred me to was great, thanks again!

Hi guys! I'm in between clients so didn't read everything thoroughly, but I see that private tours are being considered/booked. What are the reasons to do these versus DCL's? And honestly, I am so slammed I haven't even looked at anything onshore! I feel like such a slacker!

I started to look at other tour options since we were going to be in port for a long time and I wanted to do so much and Disney tours didn't offer all of it. Now I can see the Dolphin pods and see the Rock and the tunnels and st. Michaels Cave!

Private tours tend to be a better ratio of ppl to "guides" and they generally cost less and can allow for a bit more flexibility.....not always, but sometimes....

Don't feel like a slacker, some aren't even into their ability to book online with DCL yet, we've got LOTS of time! :grouphug:
