Has anyone here done online check in? Are you able to make any room requests with the online check in? My daughter is doing online check in later today and she has a standard view. We have a woods view and are hoping that we can be close enough to be convenient to each other. If there are options on the online check in, would any of them increase her chances of being close to a woods view room?

I'm not planning on doing online check in. She is arriving one day ahead of us, so I need her room number before we check in so that we can try to get close to her room. I would love to be near Otter Pond, so I hope it all works out.

TIA

Have you already "linked" your reservations? Have you put in a request to be close together? That way the room assigners would know that in advance.

Personally, in a situation like this, I wouldn't recommend that either of you do online check in. She would still be able to give you her room number in advance, but she could also discuss the room locations with the CM when she checks in.

We have a group gathering number, so the reservations are linked. She wants to do the online check in, so I can't really stop her there. I told her that when she checks in she should tell them about our woods view to see if she can get a free upgrade. It seems like you can still change your room when you arrive. We'll see what happens. I'm hoping she gets some pixiedust. :cheer2:
She had a bad room experience at the BC on her last trip, so she is due for something good to happen. :) I know if we checked in at the same that we could probably get the rooms close to each other, but airfare was cheaper on a Monday for her. And I had to work on Monday and couldn't get away until Tuesday.

...OK. So last year I was stressing about the refurbishment at the lodge, so I switched to a 2 BR villa. (trip, sadly, not taken) This year, I have my villa and now there are rumors of a refurbishment there?? I feel like refurbs are following me around. At least in the lodge there are wings so you can escape some of the noise and disruption, but I am thinking at the villas there would be no way to do this. I know, I may be worrying needlessly, but that's me! I am not ready to panic and switch my res but I would so appreciate any news on this possibility. (I will also keep checking the VWL thread) Back to ADR planning now!

It was a bit annoying having them renovating the two villas on our corridor since we were close to the end of the corridor. My guess is that they will try to take an entire corridor on one floor at once to avoid disadvantaging the guests too much.

We booked this morning! We got a 1 bedroom at VWL on RCI points for 6/9 to 6/16. I'm so happy to be going back to the lodge and have never stayed at the Villas. I'll have to start looking into making room requests. :cool1:

Then start looking at ADRs.

Brian

We were at the lodge when there was a refurb going on (the one before this last one) and at least there was a way to keep our distance from it. I would imagine that is much harder to do at the villas. I hope they are done by August! :)

Excellent news for you! Also, for me :) because you can report here about whether there is a refurb going on. As far as room requests, I was just thinking of asking for high floor, facing lake.

4 weeks from today, weather and airlines permitting, we will be enjoying a warm welcome back home to the Wilderness Lodge and an introduction to the Old Faithful Club. :cloud9:

I don't know how I am going to get anything done at work in the next few weeks. I have a business trip to Hershey Lodge the week before our vacation so at least I'll have two days away from the computer and will have to obsess the old fashioned way - by making lists on paper.

Or my wearing out my iphone and Disboards app. :hyper:

A question for those who have stayed Club Level before, I see the daily menus listed on the first page of this thread. What time are these appetizers typically available? Thanks in advance!

Just wondering does WL have a problem with bats either inside or outside of the lodge?? I thought I read that somewhere and just wanted to verify if it was true:confused3

We spent 10 nights/11 days at WL in July, and we didn't see one bat, inside or out. :goodvibes

Can't wait to get back to WL on 6/24. Last year was the first time we stayed at the lodge and we loved it. We're staying in a deluxe club level room. We decided to split our stay since our friends are staying at the Yacht Club and we thought it would be more convinienient if we were at the same resort. Has anyone ever stayed in the deluxe club level rooms at the Yacht Club? I saw on the Beach & Yacht thread that there is a daybed in the sitting area but when I called to reserve I was told noday bed just chairs and they don't have roll away beds.:confused3

OMG you just touched on my only bad experience at VWL. Bats were housing themselves on the walkway to the villas. Holy crap, bats are so my enemy. In my head I get the goodness of bats... my heart not so much. However, Disney, has done what they can to com"bat" the problem. My other issue, a cast member was laughing his silly *** off as I ran... way too funny, in hind sight. If you haven't gotten it, as a long haired child, my fear was bats would catch in my hair. Silly but no less a fear. Good think no one knows who I am. I'm rooting for not so many bats is NH... NY has a bunch of them.

There is a very helpful group of people over at the Beach and Yacht Club Facs thread who might know the answer to your question. :)

Yep, we also saw the bats in the covered walkway to the WL from VWL when we were there earlier in the month. They do take care of the bugs, so you don't have to worry about West Nile Virus, maybe???
