Official WDW Marathon Weekend 2013 Thread-Part 2

Coach,

Thanks very much for the map suggestion for running at OKW.

I had a really nice run this morning - 3.75 miles along through OKW and along the nature trail over to SSR and then back.

It was warm... umm... I mean WARM. I haven't run in temperatures like that in about 3 months and it felt okay, but boy was I sweating. I REALLY started hydrating today as we were out at Animal Kingdom.

Today was 3.75 running and about 3.5 walking around AK. We're going to dinner at the Biergarten in Germany, so that will add some walking distance as well.

I may bag my runs the rest of the week in favor of the walking at the parks before race day.

Overall, the weather this week is great for a winter getaway from Philadelphia, but I do wish it was cooler for race day.

As it is, I'm just taking it as more incentive to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere of the race rather than try to run for time.

Four days!

Thanks for letting us know how it's feeling down there! You're lucky you get to acclimate to it before the weekend. :)

:offtopic:

As folks may recall, I posted that I had a possible job interview in our Orlando area office. I posted after the hiring supervisor and I had a great conversation concerning his thoughts about a fairly senior level employee posting for the position. Well, we were caught be a few end of the year delays and I had received no news.

I phoned yesterday to see if it would be appropriate to have an additional conversation since I am in the area this week. He indicated that he was going to phone later in the week as ask if I could come over… great minds think alike. I offered up Friday and Monday as better days. He has a full day meeting Friday but said that was his preferred day. I asked if he was sure… on Monday, he could laugh at me in my post marathon condition. We meet during lunch on Friday.

Thanks for all the well wishes! We will let all know

great timing! and good luck to you! :thumbsup2

Just downloaded the Disney Experience App on my android. Where are you guys finding the ADR info? I am able to log in and it has my personal info, but can't find the ADRs.

I had to reload any ADR made prior to the computer change in early Dec.

We spent the day at mk today and as the sun was beating down on us at around 1130 or 12, I thought, so this is what it's going to be like at the end of the marathon on sunday. Oh boy.
Just keep calm and keep moving forward!

How did you do that Coach? Through the app or on the web site? I already have my ADRs on my google calander so I can get to those easy enough. My hotel ressies never come up since we book through DVC member services.

It's incredibly wonky right now. It kept telling me the ADRs I was adding weren't valid one minute and gave me full details about them in the next minute. It'll be great if they get it all working at once. ;)

Even the DVC reservations can be added to the system, but none of mine showed up automatically. Once I added the confirmation number and other required information, those ressies showed up too. Sometimes. :cool1:

We leave in the wee hours. Finishing DH's shirt and then hitting the rack. Hope to see you guys this weekend!!!!

On the web site I was able to add all my hotel and dining ressies. But can't find where they would be in the app. I guess they are still working on the gliches.

Almost finished with my costume. Was originally going for the magic carpet, until I got the blue skirt and it didn't match. Many failed sewing attempts (and the rise in temperature) later, I thought this might be a good option!

I have never worn a visor when running, but I saw some people in this thread recommending a visor instead of a hat due to the heat. Worst case I'll give the visor to one of my spectators, hold it or worst case toss it if I can't take it.

So cute!!!

I am almost finished with my costume and then I will post a picture of it. No cute yellow legs for Donald though:(. Way too hot for those.
