Two more questions. Does POR pool have a kiddie wading pool? Also, do you win prizes at the arcade (you can at AoA).

Yes there is a 1ft to 1.5 ft deep circular pool for babies, and kiddies on Old Man Island.

quick question:
Going with my 3 yo DS in Feb, booked a Royal Garden View, would we be able to get bed rails from the resort, or should we figure something else out?

Thanks!

You can request them from housekeeping when you check-in and receive your room.

Is bld 17 close to a laundry room? Is that what the little square on the map is?

The laundry facilities in that area are in the little building near the quiet pool it shows up as a little small building between 17 and 18 literally next to pool.

Hello all, I posted this in the general resort section, but I think this forum
is a better fit... ;)
We will be staying in a Royal Room next month and I was wondering what
there is for in room coffee? Last time we were there in Oct 2011 there was
4 cup drip pots. I like to make my coffee in room before heading outside...
Thanks...

Thanks! That is my main reason for requesting that bld. Our reservations are for 7 nts standard view with a package. Then we have a 1 night room only which had to be booked as garden view as that's all that was left with the promo. Will stink to have to pack up and move for 1 night but we will deal with it if we have to!

I may be able to help you with that in about 30 minutes ill PM you with more.

Just placed an on-line order with the Disney Store :). They have LOTS of good deals on right now!!! So excited to surprise the kids with some little trinkets when we are staying there...... Soooo looking forward to this trip :)

Before our trip, I bought a bunch of little Disney Princess and Minnie Mouse items like lip gloss, figurines, jewelry, hair accessories, coloring items, etc. and left them in the room every day for my 8 yr old daughter to find when we returned from the parks, and said they were from Mickey. The only day I forgot was the first day. That day we happened to meet Mickey, so when she started getting the gifts from 'Mickey' after she met him, she said, "Wow, Mickey must have really liked me!". LOL It was awesome!

I am having POR and MK withdrawal big time. :( I read this board and get sad because I miss it!

In AB they have the little 4 cup pots.

I forgot to mention in earlier posts about coffee, don't use the water. We got sick from it. There isn't anything wrong with it, I was told it's just that we have different bacteria in our water than there, so it gave us tummy troubles. I don't know if that's true or not but I stopped using the water there and used the bottled water we had brought.

I'm starting to second-guess my room choice (the closer the trip gets, the more second-guessing I do :rotfl:). I wonder if I should've booked a royal room. They look so cool! The theming is great! I just wish they had King beds (which is the room type I booked). I'm sure I'll love it either way, but I need to get my pre-trip jitters out somewhere ;)

As long as I'm talking about room types, anyone know how often (if ever) upgrades happen? If I have a King room booked, what would be considered an upgrade from that? Just curious. Thanks!

Ok, so now that I see that people are booking other room categories besides standard with the new discount (grr for uninformed CM's) should I upgrade to garden view? What specific upside(s) are there? The only thing I really want is to be close to the main building. This will be our first trip without the stroller, as DD is 5 now - woo hoo! So maybe it is more important to be close to a bus stop? Or maybe I need to quit worrying and just leave it as is? We are currently booked May 28th-June7th in a standard RGR. Thanks in advance!

Upgrades happen from time to time, when they benefit the resort or if the CM is allowed to do so for some sort-of occasion from time to time. You will never know when and why. The worst way of getting an upgrade is asking for one - unless you expect to pay the difference. And if you take it at check-in, you will lose any discounts and will pay rack rate for the room.

You should book what you want and not expect to be upgraded, because it will give you a false sense of expectation. Be happy with what you have booked.

Really, the king bed rooms are very nice - I have stayed in them twice. But if you want a royal room, than go ahead and book it.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not looking for an upgrade. I'm a 'take what ya get' kind of girl. Happy to be booked into a king room. Of course, I will make a location request ;) I was just curious about how upgrades worked. I never go to Disney expecting anything extra -- I'm just happy and grateful that I'm there at all! :goodvibes

Just found out that the big slide will be closed for maintenance for the whole month of January. Not sure it will even be warm enough to swim but its our first time at this resort and the slide looked awesome....well, at least the rest of the pool will be open. :) Also, we are checking in on the 18th, is it ok to fax my request on the 16th?
