My Alamo rate has dropped again!

$105 for a compact between 1/10 and 1/15 with airport pickup and return.

Used VISA code and the Insider Contract number.

How low can it go?

Rates just dropped for both National and Alamo for my dates. I got $246 for National for a 10 day rental. Alamo is coming in at $179. I'm 2 1/2 weeks away and I have a reservation at both right now. I prefer National and will pay a little more. The perks at National are worth the extra for us.

I have found that without a saturday night stay the rates are certainly not as discounted but was able to get a standard size thru alamo for 6 days at 144.08 total, for an upcoming last minute trip, so overall its all good.

New coupon code came out for Alamo which saves me another $13 with today's drop in rates!! AFA5322FDZ is 1 free day when you book for 5 or more days. I don't have a Visa, so this is the next best. Brings me down to $194 for a standard for 10 days.

My National rate didn't last long. I booked it this morning and just checked and it went back up again.

log into the insider section of Alamo and the code is applied automatically. If you try to type in the insider code without being logged in, it won't work. I've been using the Disney passholder code, which offers me a better rate that the Visa contract code. I am using the Visa coupon code mentioned, AD2338FDF

I'm holding a reservation at Alamo for 10 days (standard) for $179
also holding a reservation at National for 10 days (Exec. Aisle/full size) for $249.

Finally got our rate down, $145.00, full size @ Alamo for a week. Costco member. When I went direct thru Alamo same car was almost 100.00 more. This has not happened to me before. I must say I really, really do not like the "new Alamo" site.

Curious how you all are getting such cheap cars.. been looking at rates for Jan 23rd - 28th in Fort Myers. Landing @ RSW. Can't find anything under $250 anymore. Been trying the Visa through Alamo and I'm an insider as well.

Any help would be great, with what codes or discounts to use.

Should i wait until last minute??

It depends a lot on the location and its hard to predict when you'll see deals. I've seen a price stay the same for weeks and then it drops in half overnight (which just happened for me). My experience with Alamo is that the lowest rates are usually about 3 weeks out and it seems like the rates often drop on Thursdays. I'm picking up my car on 1/18 and the price just dropped last week. So, I'd make sure you check every day for the next week or so. Good luck!

Prices at the Orlando Airport are consistently the cheapest I have ever seen anywhere. You should keep checking your rates but I wouldn't expect to see rates as cheap as what people are getting for Orlando.

So agree with you. I can't put in my Insiders number. They want me to sign in with a username and password and I have no idea what those are!

CherylA, I had the same problem. If you call Alamo and give them you Insider # they can tell you your user name. Then you can request your password to be resent to you by email.
