Latest update on refurbs for January, from a Disney travel agent website.

California Adventure
Jan. 7 – Feb. 14, 2013: Silly Symphony Swings will be closed for refurbishment.
Jan. 7 – Feb. 28, 2013: Grizzly River Run will be closed for refurbishment.
Jan. 28 – 31, Feb. 4-7, 2013: World of Color will not be presented.

Although the official calendar shows that WoC will not be presented and shows GRR as closed for Refurb, it does not list SSS yet. I'm hoping that refurb got cancelled.

I will be taking my sister and 3 year old from January 15-21. I am running the Tink 1/2 Marathon, and my sister just graduated from college. We decided to tour the parks the Wednesday - Friday before the race since Monday is a holiday. I'm hoping we'll encounter less crowds that way.

Staying at the La Quinta Anaheim Suites on Clementine. Has anybody walked to the parks from that hotel? We'll have a car, but I'm hoping to save on parking by walking.

It's getting so close for many of us. Ours is at the end of January and I don't think I'm quite feeling the excitement yet. Maybe once Christmas is over and done with? Have a blast everyone!!

Our trip is near the beginning of the month and it hasn't quite kicked in for us either. We decided to delay telling our 5 year old until the morning we leave and that secret is killing me!!

January 23 - 27 at DLH!

A bit of a spontaneous trip. We had to put down our 12 1/2 year old golden retriever on Wed. last week and Grandma died on Friday.

We need some DLR magic to perk us up!

I didn't see your post until today, I just want to tell you how sorry I am for the loss of your grandmother, and your furry companion.
I hope you are able to have a good holiday season, and a wonderful trip to Disneyland.

Hello fellow Dis'ers! We recently got back from our Dec. trip to DLR and we have 5 preferred seating vouchers that we didn't use. I tried to give them away on the giveaway thread but I got frustrated after no replies from 5 different people (and some who did reply but didn't need or were no longer going). Soooo... anyone want them? I'm hoping that they could go to a family of 5 who is traveling in January, as they expire at the end on 1/31/13. I'm happy to throw them in an envelope and send them your way.

Well we surprised the girls with the Disney trip this morning. The little one still doesn't get it. I didn't expect her too haha. We did a scavenger hunt for the older one and she had so much fun and is so excited for our trip. I showed her our hotel but I'm thinking of canceling our reservation at Desert Palm Hotel and splurging on a DL hotel. Hmm not sure on that yet. Anywho, now I need to book our character meals. I'm getting excited!!

The Silly Symphony Swings refurb has been shortened, from 1/7 through 2/14 to 2/4 through 2/14. Finally something breaking our way.

Well, my trip will be at a slightly different pace than I was planning for.

I will be 13 weeks pregnant on our trip at the end of January!

The funny thing is that my husband and I planned this trip for the two of us because we (okay...just me) like to do the parks commando style and go on ALL the rides and see ALL the shows. I wanted to go to Disneyland before we had kids so we could do that there, just like we've done at WDW.

Looks like I won't be going on ALL the rides and will be taking a slightly slower pace.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I will be 7 months when we go in a few weeks. I keep struggling with the fact that there will be rides I can't go on (including all the new Carsland rides, boo!) But I am thrilled that someday soon we will be able to go back with our own child to experience the magic in a different way. (Or, on occasion, drop him off with Grandma on our way to do the park commando style.)
