Wow, that's a lot of closures. We'll be there 23-25 for the parks. Right in the middle of all of it.

It really isn't too bad. The trade off of mild weather and light crowds makes missing a few favorites worth it.

What is the "west entrance tunnel"? Is that one of the two tunnels you can walk under the Disneyland Railroad right near the front of the park? Like this?

And where are the Tour Gardens?

And where are the Tour Gardens?

I was wondering about those things myself. So I looked them up. :)

Yes, the West Entrance Tunnel is in that photo. And the Tour Garden is (I believe) where the tour groups gather near City Hall.

We're going during NAMM, they say it really doesn't increase park traffic.

Is it a bad weekend to go during NAMM? What is it also?

Was wondering this also. We usually stay at the Anaheim Plaza, but its sold out that weekend. Does that mean the parks are going to be crazy crowded? Has anyone ever been while NAMM is being held??

Actually all the veterans I've seen on here say it greatly increases traffic. They offer attendees tix for reduced prices. Plus families if attendees that go to DL while SO is at conference.

January 23 - 27 at DLH!

A bit of a spontaneous trip. We had to put down our 12 1/2 year old golden retriever on Wed. last week and Grandma died on Friday.

We need some DLR magic to perk us up!

I've been at DLR during the NAMM show for the past 3 years. Honestly, it's not that bad. I'm more concerned about some of the closures while we're there. With no F! or fireworks, WOC will likely be packed (esp. since it's going down right after that weekend). There are some in our group who have never been, so they'll probably try to brave the crowds. Me and my 7 month pregnant self will probably be watching from VGC!

We found a VGC reservation for sale that we simply couldn't pass up, so we're taking an unplanned trip from Jan. 13-Jan 18. First time staying at VGC as well as the first time DD5 will have a vacation with the grandparents, so everyone is super-excited.

The family and I will be at PPH 31 Dec to 4 Jan, really looking forward to the holiday decorations!!

How bad are the crowds Jan 2 - 6?
We went for four days in November, the week of Thanksgiving and it was horrible! Just wondering how it compares to the first week of January, since most schools will still be on vacation.
