And these are the {Resort} Changes of our Lives ~In Memory of JungleCruiser <3

I have a question about changing resorts and figured this would be the best place to ask it! :goodvibes

We have room only reservations for CBR for the first two days of our vacation. Now I'm thinking of changing to POP because it'll be over $100 cheaper and because the beds are going to be the same size.

If I call and change, can I move the deposit over to POP or will they have to do a refund and a new charge?

TIA!

If it is a package to a package change or, a room-only to room-only, you will be able to have the deposit applied to the change. :goodvibes

:grouphug: to our wonderful ladies. I raised my glass in tribute last night to those who have lost loved ones. Thinking of you all today.

Hello ladies! I hope everyone had a decent weekend. I'll try to get back here tonight and catch up with everyone. It's just a hectic/tired/cranky weekend and Monday here ;)

I called CRO to officially cancel my YC res for Feb, but of course the system was down and I was told to call back latter. Sigh.

Picking up the kiddos then off for another Monday afternoon of playing chauffeur :)

Christine and Sheila, keeping you both in our thoughts and prayers.

I would change to YC CL. I think SAB will be loads more fun than quiet pools, especially for kids. We really like CL at Yacht Club. We have stayed at both, and prefer YC. We like the dedicated floor with easy elevator access. Nice CM's, friendly atmosphere.
Lots to think about, but if you want to change you probably should do so quickly, before word get out too widely.

HI pixarmom :wave2:

I chose YC CL over BWI CL for our next trip specifically for the pool. I know swimming is iffy, but my boys (like yours I'm sure) can swim no matter what the weather is like!

Strictly speaking of CL, I prefer BWI hands down. In my opinion, the lounge, CM's, and offerings are all better at BWI. However, they are still quite acceptable at YC.

Regarding the view, our SV CL room at YC was pretty much over back entrance so it had a partial view of the kiddie area of SAB along with the roof. It wasn't bad at all.

gwynne
and i heart, thanks so much for the responses! I agree and was all ready to make the switch. And then my husband and our two older boys said they all want to stick with BWI. Wow - I was surprised. But we've stayed at BC/YC a ton, and BWI just once. And they said they would pick Jackie and Pete over the pool this time. (So I sure hope Jackie and Pete are around then!) Now if you ask our youngest, he will say BC. But he will say BC under any circumstances - whether BC is one of the choices or not!

So ladies....

So much going on!!! Long story short...with Christmas almost upon us, I am realizing how much money we have spent (and still have to spend)...

This weekend, DH and I both had to get new tires and stuff for our cars to the tune of $1800.

Then yesterday, our washer broke....Sears man coming tomorrow, will be either a repair or replace...but regardless, it will be more money...

With all of this going on, could we still afford BC??? Yeaaah....but I am having a hard time justifying cutting into our savings for vacation. It's just not something I want to do...

Thinking POR again (for which we would already be paid in full)...or maybe AKL, which would be $450 cheaper than my BC ressie....POR would be the right thing to do though...

Thoughts??? Talk me through this one.

Are there other things in your life you can cut down on like Christmas spending, eating out etc. Your vacation is a long way off. You don't have to pay it off until you check in. I would stick with BC. You can always change at the last minute if finances are tight. You may not get that BC GV room back.

I completely understand...I also shelled out a lot recently...and I was even looking to switch to January...to pop or all stars....but the kiddos are jazzed up on yc cl...but to save all that money..and go back sooner...and possibly coincide with the RC trip.....ugh....ok so my thoughts would be to do Por...its very pretty there....but how much is your raise...congrats by the way!!!

We are basically done Christmas shopping...we will end up spending probably another $400 total though.

I really don't want to lose my BC room. I will hold onto it for a bit....

My immediate raise is $2k...then another $5k-$7k to come in April. :yay::yay::yay:

I think I just got overwhelmed by the amount of money spent this weekend on car stuff and then right after we spent all of that, the washing machine broke unexpectedly...:sad2:

I hate when I feel like I am hemmoraghing money...and that's how I feel right now. (And on stuff I don't want to spend $$ on!!!!)

DH is constantly asking me for money to buy me presents...I control the checkbook, so he has to get approval. I think this is ridiculously STUPID...and every year I ask that we don't exchange gifts...I mean, honestly, if either one of us wants something, we just go and get it. I just went off on him again, because he keeps bugging me about $$ to go shopping and I told him that I want my Beach Club vacation.....but if he is going to insist that I give him a budget so he can get me a bunch of stuff that I don't want, then I will end up NOT getting what I really want because I will end up having to downgrade my trip....

Haven't gotten a response from that one yet...

From the DH:

I know you get everything you want. And I am not being selfish. I want a
few things under the tree for you. I have no big gifts I am going to get
you, I am being honest here. I got you Uggs, your vacations, and a
necklace.....so I am not asking for the world. We can talk, I wnant a small
budget...relax. I want to get you nothing but shake weights, nose hair
trimmers, and stompeez

He can never be serious....but he seriously makes me laugh... :rotfl2:

This weekend, DH and I both had to get new tires and stuff for our cars to the tune of $1800.

I am not looking forward to when I have to replace the tires on my minivan. The other one I had, had a car chassis and tires on it (or at least that's what my fil said). The one I have now he said had a truck chassis and truck tires, which I'm sure means they will cost more money to replace.

Then yesterday, our washer broke....Sears man coming tomorrow, will be either a repair or replace...but regardless, it will be more money...

Hopefully it will be a cheap easy fix, like a lid switch or something, and they'll be able to fix it when they are out tomorrow. That is one thing that I love about the DH doing what he does. I don't have wait for an appliance person to look at our stuff. Then other than at cost parts, the only thing I have to pay him is a huggie, kissie, and some time playing SW:toR.

Just popping in to say DD's procedure went well. She's home napping now.

I'll be back later to catch up with everybody. :goodvibes

I'm glad everything went well. Hopefully recovery will go well as well.

So, I'm knitting and watching Ghost Adventures b/c well...Zach is HAWT!! Any way I read your post, and I keep laughing as I'm watching b/c I keep thinking of your post. Heck if Stompeez came in Disney characters, you know we would all want some.

I hope everyone is having a good day. I had to make a run to Wal Mart to buy the boys warmer coats. They just had sweatshirt type material hoodies, which has been fine. It didn't get cold at all last year and last week it was still in the 70's. Well it was like God realized it should be colder and we actually got flurries this morning. I didn't think we got any, and then I found evidence of it on my MV and on the ground when I looked closer.

I think I am going to go ahead and make our ADRs on the 12th. Then if my mil & fil won't budge on the "no one off in November/December" everything will be ready for a June trip. The DH doesn't want to go in June again. He wants super low crowds and I want to see the park decked out for Christmas, see the Osborne Lights, and the Candlelight Processional.

Hahaha! Yes, truck tires are more expensive....my SUV tires were way more expensive than DH regular car tires...:sad2:

We will see what the washer repairman says tomorrow....not looking forward to the news...we looked up the problem on the Internet and there was actually a recall regarding this issue so maybe it will turn out to be covered under the recall, but with our luck, probably not...:scared:

I think you should definitely make your ADRs to be on the safe side. ::yes::

DH said that I am absolutely in no way to change our ressie, and that if BC is where my heart is set on than BC is where we will stay.:p

And.....he thinks our Feb 2014 will be the best time to finally give the Poly a try....:upsidedow
Glad he's already starting to think ahead!! :rotfl2:

My immediate raise is $2k...then another $5k-$7k to come in April. :yay::yay::yay:

I meant to say this earlier and forgot, but....

CONGRATS on the raise!!! :dance3::banana::cheer2::banana::dance3:

Hahaha! Yes, truck tires are more expensive....my SUV tires were way more expensive than DH regular car tires...:sad2:

That's what I'm afraid of. The fil says that if I rotate them when I'm supposed to, they will last longer. We were lucky when we got it, the tires were practically new.

If you don't mind me asking...What brand is it and how old? I have seen Frigidaire do the work under warranty, even if it was up to two year old in a few cases. After they tell you what it is, call the manufacturer and see if they will cover it. They may not cover any of it, or they may cover parts, or labor.

I think you should definitely make your ADRs to be on the safe side. ::yes::

I think I will, even though the more I think about it, the more I love the idea of going in December while the boys are still at home.

Your DH needs to rub off on mine. Mine is saying the opposite. "After this trip, no Disney anything for a long time."

It's a Whirpool Calypso and we got it in 2005. :sad1:

Hi everyone

IHeart: Glad to hear your DD got through it and is at home now. I am sure Mommy is looking after her very very well.:flower3:

Candace: I am not sure I am in a good place to give you advice. Yes stick with the BC? Maybe??? We may have to stay with POR too. :confused3 Real life finances get in the way sometimes. I am sure wherever you end up it will be magical. And DH and I are the exact same way about gifts. I never want any and he demands to get me some!!:rotfl:

Melissa: Sorry to hear you had a cranky Monday, hope the evening is going better.::yes::

Miss: Hello dear!!:wave2:

Wookie: I am excited to see the Christmas decorations next year too!

Glad to hear our Sarah is home now. Hopefully she will be on the mend soon. Hugs.:grouphug:

Just got back from a Christmas work dinner out at a fancyish Italian restaurant. Incredibly rude customer service. There was about 30 of us, and we were stunned at how cold, rude, and unsmiling the owner/manager/waiter was. Refused to give us separate checks, and then added on 20% tip automatically, after treating us like we were all bothering him. :( Brutal. Could take a few lessons from Disney customer service thats for sure.

Got excited to see an email from Disney Destinations, but it was just the 35% room discount for Jan/ March. Boo.

Have a good night everyone:goodvibes

Sorry you didn't get a pin you could use! :sad2:

Yeah...if you'll recall, I went through this this summer too, when we ended up having to buy a dishwasher and stove then ended up costing $2100...after the initial anxiety...I ended up adding CL!!! :rotfl2:

I'm hopeless I tell ya! Sticking with BC!

Yikes!! Getting a little flack for a comment I made on the Budget Board about donating clothes!:duck: I have to learn to stay here!!

Hi everyone
Wookie: I am excited to see the Christmas decorations next year too!
I hate moving the trip back, but I really want to see the Christmas decorations while the boys are still living at home. I tried to get the DH to talk to the mil about the possibility tonight, but he chickened out. It was the perfect chance. The mil was in the front office and the fil was in the living room watching tv with this headset we bought so he could hear the tv better. Oh, well. We have until April 26, 2013 to have the June trip paid off, which is way earlier than the 180 day out for ADRs for December. Just to be safe, I'll make an ADR plan for December just in case.

Glad to hear our Sarah is home now. Hopefully she will be on the mend soon. Hugs.:grouphug:

wow and the manager/owner were just as rude? I would make sure to call make and let them know about your complaints and that they have lost the business of your company. Personally, I would then have each member of the party go on Yelp and give a bad review.

Got excited to see an email from Disney Destinations, but it was just the 35% room discount for Jan/ March. Boo.

The only thing we'll fling at you here is pixie dust, good thoughts, prayers, hugs.....and if one of us ever wins a big pot lottery and we've had too many "adult marshmallows" the odd flaming marshmallow.
