I'm slowly working on DH :) I'll get my way eventually! :rotfl:

I'm having a dilemma of my own....

As you all know, I've been awaiting my new partner. She's finally hired and starts dec 17. I will be back to my alternating schedule by dec 27. With the retirement of our business manager 6 weeks ago, things at work have gone downhill -- new business mgr is anal and controlling and trying to get me to do coverage for another position (stock keeper) which is not what I applied for! Physically I can't do heavy lifting, I applied for admin/reception 2.5 yrs ago and have never had to do stock keeper for our last boss. This boss is all about cross training, etc..... But I have no interest in training on stock keeper position!!! That's just the tip of the iceberg .... Work is not the same without our old Business Mgr....not to mention. she was a Disney fiend like us!

Long story shorter... I have an opportunity to move out of the young offender Center to next door / the big spanking new remand facility (adult inmates) that was just built. There is a data operator position in inmate accounts. It would mean a promotion/ going up a level from an admin 2 to a admin 3 -- double the salary and full time. I know I said I like part time, but this offers new opportunity and challenge, and may keep me busy!!! I love data entry. I'm so bored in my current job. There is a lot of down time with nothing to fill it. This new job is in a huge, busy state of the art facility.... Serving 800 staff alone, and a couple thousand inmates. I think I'd be kept busy.

It means interview process again (which I hate) but a good chance of success as its only open to current dept employees. Now I need to choose -- lazy and easy job or challenge and busy full time job? I am tempted to apply and see where it might take me. I have until Tue to get my application in....and I am wondering whether I should go for it! Sorry for the long post, my mind is going a mile a minute right now.
Thanks for listening!!!
Marie

You should go for it!! If it is meant to be, you will get the job. If it were me, I would b/c I would think of it an more money to spend on Disney.

A sincere thanks again ladies for all of your kind thoughts about my DS. I hope everyone has a good weekend :grouphug:

:grouphug: Hopefully, you won't have to deal with it any more. I hope y'all have a good weekend as well.

Happy Hanukkah to all those that celebrate it.

Sonic's the BEST! Has Tottie the Elf made his Christmas appearance yet?

You're welcome and what a fun evening you had!

Not sure, I didn't notice. My minivan will play DVD's on the radio screen, so while we wait for our order at Sonic, the DSs and I always watch a movie.

I am so sorry to have missed so much of the goings on lately...if I try to mention everyone by name, I will surely miss one, so please know my heart is with you and all the recent challenges - I tuck every mention in my heartfelt prayer.

Sooo yummy!

mmmmmmm, I love me some Chick-Fil-A!! The last day care I worked at was a small one that was in, what used to be a home. The man that lived in the house next door made the cows for the Chick-Fil-A billboards that have the 3D cows.

I am very boring my Dear Sarah...I had vanilla :lovestruc but it's my favorite....
There is nothing wrong with vanilla. That's usually what I get when I get a shake. Chocolate is usually too sweet and strawberry usually has chunks of berry that are too big to fit through the straw.

and here's a little pixie dust hoping you are better my Dear sweet friend!!!

I meant to thank you last night for this pattern .... great, perfect!!! :worship: If I can't figure how to knit the Mickey head into my scarf I know I'll use it for a cross stitch .... on a scarf or an ornament!!! Now I just need to finish the friendship shawls and scarfs I'm making for Christmas gifts.

Pas, super cute photo of Bree, as always!

Hello RCers! I thought I had been cured, as I kept my BC/CR reservation for MNSSHP and my Poly/BWI reservation for January for FIVE MONTHS now. (Although I did apply discounts and upgrade to CL, but still . . . ) And now, 49 days before departure, I find out that Luna Park pool will be closed during our BWI stay. IPO confirmed that, at this time, there is no option for BWI guests to use SAB - it's just BWI quiet pools.

Quick recap: My husband is beyond burned out on WDW and for his sake, we ditched the 6-resorts plan and decided to do 1/2 Poly and 1/2 his choice. He chose BWI CL. Now he's not sure and considering YC CL. We've stayed at all the Epcot area resorts, but only CL at BC and BWI. Our boys love to swim (that's actually an understatement for our youngest - he's a tiny competitive swimmer.) But "standard" at BWI means courtyard or water view. And "standard" at YC means rooftop or parking lot view. And we love the CMs at BWI.

Any thoughts on YC CL vs. BWI CL? Would anyone with swimming kids make the switch to YC CL under these circumstances?

I would change to YC CL. I think SAB will be loads more fun than quiet pools, especially for kids. We really like CL at Yacht Club. We have stayed at both, and prefer YC. We like the dedicated floor with easy elevator access. Nice CM's, friendly atmosphere.
Lots to think about, but if you want to change you probably should do so quickly, before word get out too widely.

I'm sorry it took me so long to post it. I meant to post it sooner than I did, but my headaches are back.

So my small rant.....
Now I'm in the middle of a WDW dilemma. We are booked at the CR /w TPV from June 10 - 13, 2013. Some money that I was planning on having by then, I just found out today that it is not going to be coming at all. Which takes about $3K, or more, out of the budget. When my DH talked about it, he was like, "no big deal, we'll just move the trip further in the year." The problem is, it would have to be moved to October - sometime in 2014. The first problem is that I don't want to wait until Summer 2014. I could do early 2014, but there are issues with that depending on the day. I don't really want to do Spring Break again. Then I don't want to pull the DSs out of school. Due to things like dyslexia and other issues they already struggle in school, so I don't want them missing any. Which is my problems with going in Fall 2013. Plus the fact they will be in football. There would be the possibility of going the week of Thanksgiving or when they get out for Christmas break, if the inlaws didn't put in a "no one gets off in November-December" rule even though everyone ,but my DH, has gotten a few days off in November this year. We can either keep the trip in June, knowing the budget will be smaller, or we can talk to the in laws and see if they will budge on the "no one off in December" rule. Then we could leave the day the boys get out for Christmas break and we can see the Christmas stuff. I am already so stressed and ticked about this that I messed up the hat I was knitting for myself (having to start it all over) and my head is killing me. What would y'all do? Remember, I have until 12/12/12 to decide what to do since that is the day I make our ADRs.

HI pixarmom :wave2:

I chose YC CL over BWI CL for our next trip specifically for the pool. I know swimming is iffy, but my boys (like yours I'm sure) can swim no matter what the weather is like!

Strictly speaking of CL, I prefer BWI hands down. In my opinion, the lounge, CM's, and offerings are all better at BWI. However, they are still quite acceptable at YC.

Regarding the view, our SV CL room at YC was pretty much over back entrance so it had a partial view of the kiddie area of SAB along with the roof. It wasn't bad at all.

Good luck with your choice! :goodvibes

pas - love the pic of your DD with the castle. Very sweet :lovestruc

Letthewookiewin, Could you go ahead and make the adrs on the 12th, and then give yourself some time to decide when your trip will work best? You can always cancel if you end up with another time frame.

Which is probably what I'll end up doing for two reasons. 1. We still may get the money, but if we do, it may not be as much as I originally thought it would have been. 2. The DH wants to go in the slowest week of the year that also has free dining. He won't take a DIS'ers word for it either. This means going to mousesavers and finding out the historical dates they offer free dining. Once I have those, resubscribe to TP, and get all the crowd data they have for those time periods as far back as they have. Then making a chart to show the DH which is the best time and why based on those findings. I don't mind doing it. Actually, it sounds like complying all the data and making the chart will be fun. The only problem is that it will take time away from knitting. I told DH it would most likely be in November, December, or January and we would have to go in January then since he couldn't get the time off in November/December. He informed me that he didn't care about his parent's stupid rule and if that's when he wanted to go on vacation they could deal with it.

Then if we do reschedule, the 180 day out from the trip won't be until May or later. That will still give me time to make new ADRs.

Wow it sounds like you have some work to do! I would personally love this kind of work though...compiling data, spreadsheets yes! And I like his attitude! Your vacation schedule is up to your family!:)

Me too and it's already done. When I was a kid, I loved taking the Sears Christmas sales book and adding up how much I would spend if I bought one of everything, in every size and color during Christmas break.

I ruled out the free dining at the end of summer b/c of the heat and humidity. Then I didn't do stuff for January - March since there isn't as much history of having free dining then. Although they do have pretty good room only discounts. It may be worth checking prices for it since it would have me at WDW for my birthday, but if I keep it in December/November we could see WDW at Christmas. Which has me thinking to keep it to December. I like his attitude too. His parent's have always told him that one of the benefits of working for the family business is that he can have vacation whenever he wanted and then they started this new rule. Besides, I love the idea of going to WDW in a time where I can wear my MH scarf.

Yes you definetly deserve to show that scarf off! It sounds like you are really doing your homework... I may come to you with a few questions! :lmao:

I just used the crowd numbers from WDW overall and not the individual parks. Although I did have so much fun doing, that I am thinking about going ahead and doing January just for the s&g's of it.
