Trip Number Nine ~ It's Christmastime!

It's our party and we can squeal if we want to!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

So I was going to post some GF Gingerbread House pics, you interested??? popcorn::

::yes::

Very much interested indeed!!!!:cool1:

Sorry, I posted that question and then got lost. At the mall. Yes, more shopping!! :confused3:rotfl:

So anyway --

As we get closer to the holidays we are getting more and more excited about all the Christmasy stuff we are going to get to see at WDW!! :santa:

The first thing we are going to encounter is the decorations at the GF! And of course that means the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House!! Very much looking forward to seeing this finished. We got to see it in the process of being build in early November 2009 and it was super cool! We had a great time watching and enjoyed some yummy samples! But now we want to see it all done! :yay:

Hi Shelly!:goodvibes Well, we are home. We had such a great time!

We had an an early afternoon flight today, and are just getting home. The GF was SO wonderful.

Sandy Cove opened yesterday- it has some AWESOME GF merchandise.:cool1:

The courtyard pool, if I am being honest, does not look close to completion. We could see it a little from our room and it looked like quite the mess!

The crowds have definitely picked up since arriving early last week. I'm sure that has to do with Thanksgiving. We got a lot done, but the past few days were packed. Lines at security at the airport were crazy today! We waited over 45 minutes.

If you have any questions, fire away at me! I am off to catch up on your PTR!

Welcome back Lauren! :goodvibes

I'm sorry your trip is over. :sad2: I know they go by too quick.

So glad to hear you had such a nice time and enjoyed the GF again. That's a bummer about the pool. You're not the first person to say that though, so I'm not surprised. How about Gasparilla's, any news there?

Did you get to see the new castle projection show??? We watched it online and it looks amazing! :cloud9:

We didn't hear anything about Gasparilla's. I actually forgot to ask! But the pool bar was convenient for a quick service meal. We didn't care for anything at Mizner's- there are not many options there IMO.

I am so bummed, but we did not see the new castle projection show! It was insane the night of MVMCP (it was sold-out), so we were not even able to get close enough to see it. We watched the fireworks from the new Fantasyland.:thumbsup2

I read somewhere that Gasparilla's is to open on Dec 16. Of course. :sad2: I was hoping that since they are behind on the pool that maybe we would luck out and Gasparilla's would be open...

Aw, I'm sorry you didn't get to see the castle show. Maybe next time! So MVMCP was pretty busy? From what you and Shawna have both said, it seems that the week before Thanksgiving is picking up. Bummer. I'm afraid my week is going to be super busy with everything opening that week, plus all the room specials offered that week.

Thanks for the update Lauren:),It always is so sad to leave:( We will be there next week and can't wait to see the Sandy Cove. What kind of merchandise did you see there? I'm preparing myself for all the construction!!

You're a Teen today!!!!;)

How does it feel?

A little overwhelming?
Not so sure?
Is it all you ever dreamed of being?

:rotfl:

I amend my previous dream of being a monorail driver. I want to build the gingerbread house when I grow up!!!:lovestruc

I seriously cannot wait to get there to see it and smell it and love it and shop in it and then not get to eat it.:worried: Oh well 4 out of 5 ain't bad.

So excited!!!

Lauren- glad you had a nice trip and it was fun. Sounds like the crowds were not so great, but at least you had a few days where they weren't bad.

Hey I'ma working woman now!!:rotfl:
I wish I could get on the DIS more often.

I know!! Don't you hate when work gets in the way of DISing??? :faint:

It feels awesome to be a teen!!!! :woohoo:

I don't know how long you could be the gingerbread house builder before you would have to give in and start eating!! :upsidedow

I don't even like gingerbread, but I don't mind the smell of it. Which is weird, usually the smell of things that I don't like to eat make me sick. :confused3 So yes, I am very much looking forward to seeing it and smelling it and shopping in it!! :goodvibes DS11 is looking forward to eating it!! ::yes::

Not long now!!!!!!!!!!

I'm here, just not posting much. Been busy planning my own trip (notice the ticker? :rolleyes1) Also my little Peanut has been sick since yesterday, so that has kept me busy.

I LOVE the smell of coconut, but cannot eat it as it reminds me of sunscreen. :rotfl: I'm not a huge fan of gingerbread either, but it smells fine. :)

Hey Mel! :goodvibes I did notice your awesome new ticker!! :cool1: Wow, that is coming up fast! :yay:

I'm sorry the baby isn't feeling well. Poor thing! I hope she gets better soon.

That is funny about the coconut! :rotfl: It's true, it does make you think of sunscreen!

As I wrote in my PTR, it was kinda last minute. I don't mind though, makes waiting for the trip that much shorter!!!

Thanks, I hope so too!

Another favorite of ours at WDW during the holidays is the Osborne Lights at DHS! I love Christmas lights, so what could be better than seeing some at my favorite place?!! We were lucky enough to see them two times – November 2009 and November 2010. What a great time!

From 2009 ~
