Oh, Just A Few GALLONS of Pixie Dust! - A July/August 2012 TR

Please stay safe with the Frankenstorm! I am praying for all of my east coast Dis friends!! I know we're supposed to get hit up here tomorrow afternoon until Tuesday morning. Fingers crossed, there won't be too much damage, but cancelled classes may not be a bad thing! ;) LOL!

Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday party! And, I love your cake! :goodvibes

It's quite alright to be 4 and have a cool cake. :thumbsup2

Stay safe, and keep us posted when you can as the next couple of days go by.

(Also, I really hope my power waits to go out until after tonight. I really don't want to miss Once Upon A Time and Revenge, my newest TV addiction.)

Isn't Revenge amazing?! I also adore Once Upon A Time. Those two shows are my tv addictions. I never thought I'd be so excited for Sunday to roll around every week in my entire life :lmao:

I'm praying for you and your family and friends to get through the hurricane safely. It's supposed to hit my city tomorrow and carry on until Thursday. It's already gotten dark out and the wind is starting to pick up here. Makes me nervous because I'm supposed to work all week. Looking forward to hearing that your safe after the hurricane blows through

Just wanted to say happy birthday. My family is going to WDW in April and your TR's are keeping me from exploding with anticipation.

Hoping you are safe from Sandy. I'm in CT close to NYC and she is mere hours from landfall.

Hope you and your family stay safe Marissa!

I'm another Revenge fan, just watched the season one finale last night :)

Stay safe during this storm! The news is starting to really freak me out. :headache: I guess the worst of it is supposed to start around 8pm tonight? I'm just praying that our power doesn't go out and if it does, that it's only for a short amount of time.

Jake and I love your birthday cake!

Hey yall! Thank you so much for your concern for the hurricane! Thankfully, my area didn't get hit very badly at all. We've had rain since Saturday, and there has been wind, but nothing major at all. Schools were closed yesterday and today, just in case, but we never lost our power either. I'm thankful for that, but I can't help but feel bad that a lot of people in a lot of areas got much worse. :sad2: I hope all my DIS friends stayed safe throughout! Stay safe, warm, and dry! Yall are wonderful. :goodvibes

Happy belated birthday! I know I posted this on twitter but I love your cake. :) My cousin had a WALL-E cake for her graduation/going away party when she did her professional internship.

Oooh, a possible spring trip?! That would be fun! You know I love the F&GF so I think you'd love it! Maybe you should go around April 1? You could come hang out in our BLT studio. ;) haha!

Hope the storm doesn't hit you guys too bad!

Thank you! Hahah that's alright, I don't mind the cake love. The WALL-E cake sounds adorable! I get Disney cakes every year for my birthday and I always get way too excited about them! Hahah.

Yes yes yes! I'm very hopeful about it! I think I'd love it too! Hahah that would be awesome! Right now I have NO CLUE when we'd go if we did! It all depends on my friends so I'm just kinda waiting right now! I'll definitely let you know though!

Thank you! Thankfully it didn't. :goodvibes

Good luck with the storm !! I hope damage is minimal. Oh, and Happy late Birthday !!

Thank you! Thankfully there was no damage around here! Haha thank you so much!

I really hope the storm doesn't hit y'all badly. Keeping everyone in its' path in my prayers. Stay safe!!

Love your birthday pictures! The cake is so cute!

And I'm with you on Once Upon a Time! I was so happy that Hook finally came to the show last Sunday. And when he said they were going to Neverland, I squealed!!

Thank you so much, it didn't hit us badly at all. I just feel bad for everyone else. :(

Thanks! I loved that cake. I get Disney cakes every year and they finally added a Toy Story design!

YES. Oh my goodness, I did too! It made me so excited! What did you think of Sunday's ep? Crazy stuff!

I will be thinking of you and your family during the storm! I really hope everyone stays safe. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to go through a crazy storm like that! We get some pretty bad snow storms where I live but I think thunder and lightning and crazy strong winds scare me more!!!!! Hopefully your power doesn't go out and if it does, hopefully its not for more than a few hours!! Stay safe :)

Thank you so much! I sincerely appreciate that. We never got anything worse than rain and wind which I'm very thankful for!

So I've stocked up on candles, chocolate, peanut butter, wine, and water... I think I'm set!:rotfl: but seriously, stay safe...
Everything around me; schools, organizations, places of worship, literally everything is closed... Except my company. I work directly for the president and basically told him he was not being smart by staying open but he never listens to me... :confused3 I just don't want to have to drive through feet of water to get home, you know?

Anyway, your birthday looks like it was a lot of fun! And yay on some hopeful upcoming trips! I really want to plan one for next September, so hopefully I can make that happen. (even though I go in 12 days, but what can I say, I'm addicted.)

Again, STAY SAFE!

Hahha sounds great!

For some reason it struck me as really funny that you said "the president never listens to me." :rotfl: That's not something you hear too often! I'm sorry yall didn't close though, I agree, not a great choice!

It was fun! Hahah I'm definitely hopeful! My other trip is next October and I cannot wait! I know what you mean, but remember what we talked about on twitter? A Disney addiction is the best kind to have! :thumbsup2

Thanks so much, I hope your power comes back soon! Stay warm!!

Thanks girl, I did! Are yall getting anything? I hope not!

I did, thanks! Hahha I loved that cake too! So cute!!! (And so delicious.)

It's quite alright to be 4 and have a cool cake. :thumbsup2

Stay safe, and keep us posted when you can as the next couple of days go by.

I think so too! My cake was the coolest. :cool2:

Thanks! Thankfully, my area didn't get hit very badly at all. Just a lot of rain and a little bit of wind. I feel bad for the other areas that got hit worse though. :guilty:

YES. It is! I just recently started watching Revenge. I got the first season on DVD when it came out and watched the entire thing in about a month! Now I'm all caught up. It's such a great show! Hahha I totally agree, Sunday nights are the best as far as TV goes!

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that! How is it going where you are? I hope you're staying safe!

Just wanted to say happy birthday. My family is going to WDW in April and your TR's are keeping me from exploding with anticipation.

Hoping you are safe from Sandy. I'm in CT close to NYC and she is mere hours from landfall.

Thank you so much! Wow, April! Very exciting! I might end up being there then too! I have no idea though, hahah. What are your dates?

Thank you! I'm sorry yall had to go through all that! I hope everything's okay and yall were able to stay safe.

I also wanted to say... WELCOME TO THE DIS! I'm honored that your first post was on my TR! So thank you so much for reading and for commenting! :goodvibes

Hope you and your family stay safe Marissa!

I'm another Revenge fan, just watched the season one finale last night :)

Thank you so much! Thankfully, we did!

YAY! I really love that show, it's fantastic! I just recently got into it and watched the entire thing in like a month!

Jake and I love your birthday cake!

I agree! I hope yall were able to stay safe too! We never lost power, did yall? I hope not!

Aww, thank you both! :goodvibes

Made it through Sandy safely not too bad..We are arriving in WDW 4/19/2013 and staying till 4/27/2013..staying at AoA. Hope that you get a spring trip planned! I took a 8 year break from WDW and returned in November of 2011 and now simply cannot wait for the next trip.

Glad you made it through the storm ok! It was bad here, but I don't think it was as bad as they were predicting! We never lost power, luckily, but a lot of people in CT did, and I guess it's going to take a while to go back on! Hope this doesn't take too long to clean up!

So happy that you made it through the storm without a power loss. I am not completely caught up, but I just wanted to wish you a belated Happy Birthday. I love your cake. It's perfect! I want the exact same one! :thumbsup2

And happy planning for your next trip!

I'm glad you had a good 24th birthday! :goodvibes Once Upon a Time Season 1 sounds like a great gift. I have Netflix and practically freaked when that and Revenge appeared on instant queue. It's great to re-watch them. :goodvibes

I really hope you can go to Disney in the spring! It's such a gorgeous time. I mean, it's no holiday season, but the Flower and Garden Festival really is something worth seeing at least once. Epcot is unbelievable with all the topiaries and flowers. ::yes:: And, like you mentioned, how great would it be to see the new Fantasyland?!

:hmghost: HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! :hmghost:

That's great to hear!

Those sound like great dates! Art of Animation looks amazing, I bet you'll love it! Oof, 8 years sounds like too many! I'm glad you're making up for lost time!

Thanks girl! I know, it's so sad to hear about all the stuff that happened. It's terrible. I'm glad neither of us fared too badly!

Aw, thank you! Hahah well come down to Virginia and get one! :rotfl:

Ahhh thanks! I hope it happens!

Omg, I just got a free trial of Netflix streaming! Coincidental! Hahha but Revenge is a newer addiction for me, my mom got the first season and I watched it all. I'm completely hooked.

Aww thank you! I hope so too! I'm always happy to experience something new at Disney, so it would be amazing! YES! New Fantasyland, Test Track, all kinds of stuff! It's an exciting time right now!!!

Glad you are okay:wave2:

Aww thank you!

Haha, it always makes me laugh when I talk about working for the president of my company... Sometimes I like to pretend I work for the actual president!

It would probably be an easier job!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl:

Glad you came through the storm OK! I was really glad I wasn't in Norfolk yet, it seems like they got it pretty bad on the coast!

Happy belated birthday! I think that a boxed set of Once Upon a Time is a great gift too! :goodvibes

Thank you! It definitely is... LOVE that show!

The One With Club Yeti

August 1, 2012

As soon as the parade ended, it was time to use our fastpasses for…

EXPEDITION EVEREST.

YAY! That’s really one of my favorite rides at Disney! We got on the ride in no time, but we also noticed that the standby queue wasn’t long at all!

My dad ‘kind of’ liked the ride. He said that we made it sound tamer than it was. Oops, that certainly wasn’t intentional. Sorry, father.

Needless to say, he wasn’t feeling up to riding again. He told Anna and I that we should go for it. So… we did! We got in the standby line and I couldn’t help but appreciate all the details!

SDC13214.jpg

SDC13215.jpg

SDC13216.jpg

However, that appreciation was pretty short lived.

Why?

This is why.

SDC13218.jpg

THE BELLS OF DOOM.

SDC13219.jpg

Listen, I know it's tempting. I know you might be wondering, "If I touch the bell, will it make the same loud and obnoxious sound that it made when those other 37 people touched it?"

I can tell you the answer right now.

YES.

So listen, let all the other people in line stay sane and just RESIST THE URGE. Please and thank you.

Okay, I still appreciated the details in the queue. They really are fantastic. HOWEVER, those bells are seriously the most annoying things ever! Honest to God, every single person in that queue (besides me and Anna) decided they had to touch the bells. HAD TO. I mean, it was clearly a life or death situation. :faint:

Once again, the ride was great! I get such a kick out of it. It’s got that thrill factor without being too scary, and the story is amazing. I’m not even mad about the broken yeti.

SDC13220.jpg

After our second ride, we figured it was time to head on out.

We saw these adorable monkeys on the way out! (I’m sorry, I forget what this type of monkey is actually called.)

SDC13221.jpg

Okay, yeah, that’s only ONE monkey. But look how he’s hanging! I think that’s pretty awesome.

We headed out by way of Asia, (that sounds really funny) but we made an odd discovery. (No, this discovery was nothing like the Discovery Island discovery. This one wasn’t quite as pleasant.)

There was this random DJ in Asia playing Indian music, and there was literally a mob of people fist bumping.

I was so confused. That’s not the sort of thing I’m into so I was like, “AHHH make it stop!” It’s really not the kind of thing I like to see at Disney. Everyone was blocking our walking paths and I just found the whole thing rather obnoxious. (I know. I’m too old to be 24.)

I didn't so much dislike the actual music, because I know music depends on culture and I respect that. Just the whole 'club' vibe was not doing it for me. Hahah.

SDC13222.jpg

Thankfully we didn’t have to stick around since we were leaving! Hahaha.

Until next time, you beautiful Tree of Life, you!

SDC13225.jpg

SDC13226.jpg

SIDE NOTE: I really REALLY need to pay a visit to my kangaroo friends again on my next trip! I miss Papa Kang! I hope he’s still hanging on. (Yes, I made kangaroo friends on my first trip to Disney and the standout was Papa Kang. He’s a good old boy from down under.) But yeah, I really need to visit them again!

SDC13228.jpg

In case you were wondering, he is pointing to the EXIT. And contrary to what this picture looks like, he isn't sitting crooked on his perch. When I tried to straighten the picture, most of his wing and his beak were 'cropped out' so I just left it crooked, hahaha.

SDC13230.jpg

A vast jungle?

SDC13231.jpg

Nope, it’s Animal Kingdom in all its amazingness!

SDC13232.jpg

Overall, we had a great day at Animal Kingdom! However, it was nearing time for us to head to our dinner destination!

Where do you think we’re going?

Luckily there was a bus waiting to take us where we needed to go, and before we knew it, we had arrived!

On our way into our next park, we witnessed another funny/odd tram moment. (I know right, who knew trams could be so funny?)

There were literally two people on the entire thing, and the announcer said, “Anyone else want to get on? No one?”

I know that doesn’t actually sound funny. It was definitely a ‘you had to be there’ moment because we thought it was hilarious. It was the combination of how he was saying it and the fact that NOBODY was on that thing and everyone was ignoring him. It made us chuckle. Yes, CHUCKLE.

The rain had lowered the temperature and it was the most perfect summer evening!

It was the perfect temperature for an evening in…

EPCOT!!!

SDC13233.jpg

SDC13234.jpg

We made a quick restroom stop, and then we headed into the heart of Future World.

My dad’s one request was that we go into Club Cool to sample sodas!

SDC13235.jpg

On our first trip, we (without ANY warning whatsoever) tried all of them-including the Beverley, so we knew to steer clear of it this time! My favorites are Costa Rica and China, I believe… whichever countries have the strawberry and watermelon.

I wish they had Brazil’s Coke product! It’s called Guarana and it is SO good. My dad and I also made sure to try some Kinley from Israel because we plan to go there someday to see the Biblical stuff! (I was actually supposed to go to Israel last May, but long story short, I didn’t.) Kinley is really good, it’s basically fizzy lemonade. Yum.

304721_825032975459_1311894651_n.jpg

(I have no idea why I look like an evil scientist in that picture. ??? HAHA.)

After our stomachs felt sufficiently fizzy, we went across the way to do some browsing in Mouse Gear!

SDC13244.jpg

I love that store. It’s my favorite store on property. I just love that it has a pretty fantastic selection, but it isn’t huge and over-crowded like World of Disney or the Emporium. Another thing I love about Mouse Gear? THE MUSIC THEY PLAY.

Anna and I were really excited because while we were in there (and it couldn’t have been more than 20 minutes) we heard THREE Hercules songs! We heard “A Star Is Born” (my personal favorite), “Zero to Hero”, and “I Won’t Say I’m In Love.” HELLO. At least someone appreciates the wonder that is Hercules! I mean, literally the only other place you’ll notice anything Hercules related is Fantasmic. Hades (the best villain) is in the nightmare segment for all of 14 seconds, and Hercules and Meg are on the yacht party ribbon dance at the end. And really, that’s not that long either. Oh… and of course they play “Go the Distance” for a few seconds during Wishes, but still, as a whole there is just not enough Hercules love at Disney! So anyways, we really appreciated the music, so we sang. And I danced. It was a jolly good time, as always.

I found a few things I wanted, but I didn’t buy anything. Have yall noticed the Disney pillow pets? My goodness, I want one. They are too adorable. Speaking of pillows, I also want THIS ONE.

576209_825033853699_2136059778_n.jpg

(Anna took that with her iPhone.)

That’s basically my motto. (Well, one of them. ‘No shame’ is at the top of the list of mottos I have. It’s not a very long list, I swear.)

Good times were had by all in Mouse Gear!

SDC13239.jpg

What would we do next?

I love Expedition Everest!! Glad you got to ride it twice in a row! That whole DJ scenario would have bothered me too...seems very non-Disney. Excited to see your dinner! I think I know where you are going!!!

Isn't it so much fun? Me too!

It was just so odd and out of place! I'm just not a 'clubber', what can I say?

Oh really??? Hmm... I don't know! :upsidedow
