Wait a minute, I'm 40, when did this happen? Nicki & Todd LIVE reviews! Completed!

Hi Nicki,
I'm really enjoying your reviews!! Your cupcake looks delicious, but the food at Teppen Edo doesn't look very appetizing to me. I've never eaten there, and now I don't think I will. Tutto Gusto looks great. I can't believe I didn't know about it. Where have I been?? Sounds like you guys are having such a great time!!
Joan

Hey Nicki! I'm joining in  A little late, but better than never!

We'll be up on Saturday morning to stay at the Swan until Tuesday. If you see me around, wave!

On Sunday we're doing the tequila pairing and I've been trying to decide whether or not to book a dinner somewhere...thanks to your reviews, I know where we'll be going...Tutto Gusto!! I've been once and it was fantastic, I can't wait to go back!

Dolphin sounds nice...we've never stayed there but did check it out last month because we rented a car from there. We tried to get into there or the Swan for December but they are both booked up!

Wow..love all the updates! Looks like you guys are having a blast! Thats too bad about Main Street Bakery and the waffle. I've been wanting to try the waffle...if I do, i'll make sure to look at it before biting into it! And those cinnamon buns look sooo good...its a shame they are hard!

Oh my GOSH Nicki!!!!!! You have no idea!!! When I was little my grandmother taped The Disneyland 30th Anniversary special for us kids. She passed soon after & my Pap used to put on this tape for us, all the time. Nothing could ever get him to dance like the Neutron dance!!!! It was hilarious!!!! :lmao::lmao::lmao: My 2 brothers & sister would just have loved to see that show!!!! Here is the only clip I could find. :goodvibes

http://youtu.be/VljcTW-do3k

Gotta remember that cupcake,it has flavors both DH & I would love!!! Hope they have it in a month.
I did not like the fondue either,I agree, much too much beer in it!!
Tutto Gusto looks like a serious treat. DH is not a fan of olives but I LOVE them!!!
& oh ya...you guys got such a perfect view @ YC. It looks really pretty!! I can't wait for our 1st DW balcony @ SSR!! LOL!!! It's the little things sometimes. :)

I'm so glad you are going to try the grapefruit beer. I have a question about Tutto gusto. Could you order ala carte even though they only have everything as a group on themenu? I really don't want a whole thing of meat and cheese for 30 bucks. Would much rather order stuff individually. It seems like you ordered off menu?

I LOVE the Yacht Club and that's where we usually stay.

We will be at The food and Wine Festival tomorrow night so I'll have to keep an eye out for you since I always follow your posts.

Great trip report as always Nicki!

Tutto Gusto looks really good, I'm going to have to give that a try very soon.

I also want to try one of the waffle sandwiches in magic kingdom.

Wow Nicki I love the pics of your YC room!!! Now I totally want to stay there!!! Loving the reviews! We got crappy pretzel rolls more than once but never ice cold, blech!

So the question is: are we keeping this for our trip together in December? I don't understand why Disney doesn't serve mor veggies (personally, I don't care for them, but I know a lof people do).

I literally just watched Restaurant Stakeout and the same issue came up: the manager wanted to charge $2 for substituing broccoli rabe over spinach. I work in customer service and special requests are the norm, so what gives. It is not like you are asking for a filet mignon or lobster tail on the side instead of the noodles lol. With pre fixe menus I understand no subs, but with hibachi style, all of the food is being prepared right there, what gives? :confused3

Disney is all about the customer the majority of the time, but that is weird.

Tutto Gusto looks like a fun place to stop for a light lunch. Gonna check that out next year.

The Yacht Club room pics made me happy-looking at Beach Club next year for split stay

Keep on enjoying girl!!!

Hi Joan! Thanks for reading along! Normally I love hibachi just not Teppan Edo hibachi. Tutto Gusto is incredible, I could eat there every day!

Hey Hon! How are you? We will be in Epcot Sunday morning until 3pm that day and then we have to head home, hope to see you!

Dolphin is great for a quick trip, I love it but DH prefers the WDW resorts with more themeing. I hope your waffle is much better than ours

That is a sweet story! Tod was laughing as I broke out in the 80's dance moves :rotfl: The cupcakes are awesome, I dont care for the plain ones, I like the ones that are all jazzed up. YC is incredible, wish I was staying longer!

That was our first stop last night! You can order anything you see ala carte. I dont care for the threesomes they have together, I prefer to eat what I want and they have no problem doing that. Each dish is $5-12 so ask the cost first. The first time we ordered off the menu, the second time ala carte

YES! Thanks!

I LOVE the Yacht Club and that's where we usually stay.

We will be at The food and Wine Festival tomorrow night so I'll have to keep an eye out for you since I always follow your posts.

We love the YC too, its been a wonderful stay so far. Hope you had fun at F&W today!

Thanks Jennifer! Everything has been very tasty!

Its a great resort, we have not been here in a few years and forgot how much we loved it!

I dont get it either..its just veggies, whats the problem? I never have this issue at our local places but in WDW, where I thought it would be simple, has been very difficult.

Tutto Gusto is so much fun! Todd wants to stay at the BC next trip, maybe a split between Poly and BC?

Having a great time, although the storm is bringing us super windy weather

Hi everyone, sorry for the lack of dinner update but I collapsed at the end of the night and since we had to get up early DH just let me sleep!

After his naptime DH woke up to throw a wrench in my plans

Todd: I feel like steak tonight

Me: Tough, you requested Il Mulino so pasta is what you get..we are going to the Yachtsman tomorrow night so you can have steak there

Todd: But I dont feel like pasta

Me: (Not feeling bad for him) So order something else, you wanted this place

Todd: Lets go to Epcot again

Me: And where are you going to get steak there

Todd: Anywhere, we will be fine and if we cannot get in at TS we can get the filet from Canada booth

Me: But we were at Epcot all day

Todd: But you didnt get the grapefruit beer...dont you want that? What about the pumpkin funnel cake??

Me: Ok, twist my arm!

Off to Epcot we went, first stop was the grapefruit beer. This was great! Not a beer-y type beer but not a fruity one either. Hard to describe but it was very very good

epcotnight004-1.jpg

As we were walking around I told DH that the 2 Mexican places had steak but he didnt want those

Me: Are we going to walk around all night?

Todd: No, lets just get the steak from Canada

Now silly me, I thought the food booth so when we came up on it I jumped in line. However, he was still walking, heading towards Le Cellier!

Me: WHOA WHOA WHOA, where do you think you are going?

Todd: Steak, I told you just a few minutes ago!

Me: We are never going to get in, look, they dont even have a CM to turn people away at the entrance.

Todd: Well maybe they dont have one there because they have availability, you are so negative

Me: Fine, you go down there...I'm not wasting a walk just to be turned away

So off he goes, in search of the exclusive reservation that people wait 180 plus days to make. THe one NO ONE ever cancels. Wait, is that my phone beeping? Son of a biscuit its him, texting me to come on down, we can be seated in 10 minutes.

Can you believe this kid? I run, not walk, down to the restaurant and there is he, arms crossed and is channeling Anthony Bourdain...and says to me

I need NO RESERVATIONS!

Did I want to hurt him a bit, well yeah, sure I did but I had a filet to eat!

Wow, that is amazing even for Todd...a walk up at LC!

Jill in CO

As I walk into Le Cellier there was not a soul waiting in the entrance. I mean no one. The restaurant was loud, seemed full. As we were sitting there 2 different sets of people came in to check for reservations, one was eating there that night and was told it was a 20 minute wait for a table of 4 and the other people booked for the next night...no problem

Todd: Nic, pick your jaw up off the ground, people are staring :lmao:

Its been forever since we have dined here but I remembered the cozy steakhouse feel. We were seated in a booth by the bathrooms, pretty quiet.

Fresh hot and steamy pretzel rolls and multigrain rolls. Todd ate all the pretzel ones and said they were the best but he didnt mess with the butter with the maple salt on top. I skipped the bread

epcotnight010-1.jpg

epcotnight011-1.jpg

We shared the caesar salad, (KATHY- tell Mark they had the little fishies on the plate!) It was a very good salad, I could have had two of these

epcotnight012-1.jpg

Todd went with the suggestion of our server and had the 20 oz bone in rib eye with garlic butter and potato wedges. He devoured the steak, it was super tender and cooked perfectly to a med well, he is not like me where I love a rare steak of any kind. He didnt waste time on the potatoes...too much meat to plow through!

epcotnight013-1.jpg

He also ordered a side of the mushrooms with herb butter. He really seemed to enjoy them and had no problem finishing them

epcotnight015-1.jpg

I had the filet but asked for veggies instead of the risotto, I had no problem whatsoever doing this, no one had to check with the manager or the chef :thumbsup2 My dish was brought out without the truffle butter and I really wanted that so the waiter returned it to the kitchen to have the butter added. Whoever did it was an angel and loaded me up!

epcotnight014-1.jpg

epcotnight016-1.jpg

My filet, oh my filet...it was insane. Cooked to a perfect med rare, so tender, so flavorful, just the perfect steak that you could have. The beans were nice, pretty crispy. The truffle butter was ridiculously wonderful. I cleaned my plate without a problem!

Everything about our meal was perfect, except for the table of 4 sitting right next to us....they were so close and so freaking loud that you could not help but hear what they were saying. Well lets just say the older father of the group loved to talk about what goes on in the bathroom and go on at great detail, the girlfriend was not feeling well and he kept asking her is she was going to blow and so on and so forth. Then he talked about the problem with eating meat so rare ... well you get the gist right?

His son tried to get him to change he subject many times but I had enough. I turned to him and loudly said "Excuse me, we are trying to enjoy our meals, can you please talk about something that is more appropriate for the dinner table?"

They never once looked at me though I was looking right at all of them and the guy turned bright red, the mother shook her head and the son said "Are you happy now dad?"

Despite that hiccup our meal was outstanding and I still cannot believe that we scored a walk in...or as Todd keeps saying HE scored the walk in, there was no us involved :rotfl:

No dessert for us at LC, we had other plans!

After a very filling dinner we took the long way around America and the Pointer Sisters were playing again. I went to get the coffee and told Todd to get in line for a pumpkin funnel cake and we would meet by the beer stand

I did my job, I got the 2 large coffees. Todd, well, he sorta did his job, no, scratch that, he gave it his all on this one!

epcotnight021-1.jpg

You see that big slab of stuff? Well that is vanilla ice cream on top of the hot fresh pumpkin funnel cake. Hold on to your taste buds, this was AMAZEBALLS! I never in my life had ice cream on funnel cake!

Me: What in the world is that?

Todd: The kid in front of me got it and I had to try it out

The pumpkin funnel cake is to die for by itself but you add that creamy ice cream on top of the hot cake and its just starting to melt and the cake is so spicy ... oh boy! I might need to get this again, and again and again!

So there we were, ingesting a zillion carbs and calories and drinking scalding hot coffee and signing and dancing like nut cases...well one nut case anyways ;) And having the best time ever! We closed the park down, I wanted to walk back to the YC , you know, to make myself feel better about the dessert and all ;)

By the time I got to the room my sugar high wore off and I crashed! All I remember is saying, wake me up early!

You have got to be kidding me?????? Maybe it's not a bad idea for Todd to try to get us a walk-up at CP in 41 days after all. The man is the DIS God of walk-ups. Seriously, I am floored.

I'm so glad you had a good meal at LeCellier. As you know, we were very disappointed in our meal last year September, but maybe I'll try to make an ADR for lunch next August (no, I am not trying a walk-up unless Todd is with me...oh wait, he will be for a few days :scratchin).

I called Mark and told him what you posted and he said to tell you:

FISHIES are the best. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Today was supposed to be a rainy one but it was just a super gusty windy one. The game plan was get to Epcot at RD, go to Soarin and have breakfast at Sunshine Seasons, go MK after that and play and have lunch before going back to the room for a break.

We were up super early and I started to walk to Epcot when I hear

Todd: Just where do you think you are going?

Me: Epcot! Did you forget or are you not awake yet

Todd: No coffee means I do not walk anywhere..lets boat it

No boats in sight, thats not cool but I waited just to make him happy...does he look happy?

frimorning001.jpg

frimorning003.jpg

The boat did come after a few minutes, pretty empty, no line for bag check..this is looking good! We got to the Land and it wasnt busy either! We rode Soarin and got FP for it to ride after breakfast.

Sunshine Seasons was dead...I opted for my usual, scrambled eggs and sausage. It was good, tasted the same as POFQ

frimorning005.jpg

frimorning006.jpg

Todd went with the pressed sandwich, eggs, bacon, ham, pork, cheese and potatoes with onions and peppers. He liked the sandwich but said it kept falling apart, he didnt like the potatoes at all

frimorning007.jpg

A quick jump on the monorail and away we went to MK! First stop hot, freshly popped popcorn...nothing is better than this!

frimorning008.jpg

And of course, another egg roll

frimorning013.jpg

We got alot done and before you knew it we were hungry! I had the taco salad again, it was ok, not as good as the first time

frimorning015.jpg

DH likes little burgers so he had the kids meal with fries and grapes, lots of pickles. This was perfect for him because he had enough room to eat the remainder of my salad

frimorning016.jpg

I was trying all day to get nice PP pictures of the pumpkins and the castle but the wind and sun was not cooperating. Here is the best we could do, all squinting and such

frimorning031.jpg

On the way out I had to check out the cupcakes at the Main Street Bakery..just boring chocolate and vanilla. But then I hear the OOH OOH OOH Horshack voice from Mr. Kotter and there is DH pointing like a mad man at the eclairs...they had real yellow cream, not chocolate! He was in heaven!

Nicki,
OMG!! That pumpkin funnel cake looks incredible!! I'm gaining weight just looking at all these pictures!! Todds so lucky getting into
