Day 8, Part 5 In Which Hot Cast Members and Free Hummus Cheer Me Up
Despite still being kinda down in the dumps, the
Livin It Up could not and would not stop, so I changed clothes and took a bus to Downtown Disney to return the tights I purchased earlier in the trip while Mom hung back at Pop to rest for a little bit. We had plans to meet up at Epcot after an hour or so.
This is a terrible pic, but the lights remind me so much of Stacey that I had to post it anyway!
It had been four years since I've been to the West Side at night, and it was awesome! I mean, how could it not be, with all the ABSOLUTELY GIGANDO names in entertainment and all?
It improved my mood a bit, although, obviously I wished I was there with someone. It was so lively and busy, with people everywhere and bands playing, all the stores and restaurants hopping... it was just a really great vibe. If I was a local, I'd be there all the time to eat and get a drink and hang with friends.
I've canceled so many ADRs over there in favor of more overly Disneyish things, but I don't think I'll do that in the future. On my BFF trip with Lee-Anne, we're spending a late night there, and I'm really looking forward to it.
This was so cute. That woman was singing classics like "I Will Survive" and "Respect" and these kids were dancing like CRAZY. Oh they were so into it. I loved it!
Somewhere around this time, Kara (MarieTheCat24), Jess (Disneyfreak508), and I were talking on Twitter. We decided we were going to start a Stacey fan club called "CA-LASS-IC So Wham So Boom: The Stacey Fan Club"... if anyone wants to join. There is going to be a pretty strict application process. True Stacey lovers ONLY!!!!!!!
I returned the tights at Apricot Lane with no problem, and then went to catch a bus over to the Beach Club, so I could hang out there and then walk over to Epcot.
The Beach Club is one of my favorite resorts, so I've spent a good amount of time there. However, like the rest of Disney, I had never seen it at Christmas, so I was quite excited about all the decorations.
Oh my goodness, the smell when I walked in there... I can not even describe how wondrous it was. It ALWAYS smells good at the Beach Club, but with the gingerbread, it added a whole other level of amazing onto the already glorious smell.
Gingerbread shop comes complete with high tech gingerbread TVs!!!
I loved all the individual gingerbread men on each panel!
After looking around some more and inhaling deeply, I headed out of the hotel and onward to the International Gateway.
My mom wasn't quite to Epcot yet, so I wandered the WS a bit... enough to enjoy the ambiance and look at a few things, but not really stopping anywhere for long. I knew my mom would be in Future World soon, and I didn't want to make her wait.
Of coooourse, I got distracted and sidetracked by alcohol and boys. Shocking. That never happens!
I got a glass of wine in France, which was unfortunately sold to me by a female. I was going to visit my French boyfriend from the other day BUT I FELT SO AWKWARD ABOUT IT. Like even though he told me twice that I should come by, I felt like a weirdo being all like OH HI, YOU CALLED ME A PRINCESS THE OTHER DAY, HERE I AM BACK AGAIN LUCKY YOU. So I just kind of walked by where he works and peeked in... I didn't see him, soooo I just left. Let's all say it together, folks: F-R-U-M-P.
So, then I met a guy in Morocco. He was standing in front of the Tangerine Cafe alone, all smiley and looking content with life. He was really cute. Not just b/c of his physical appearance, but he had a very sunny disposition. I LOVE people who are not yet jaded and annoyed with life.
As I was walking by, he said hello and struck up a conversation with me immediately. One of the first things he said to me was, "This is the HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!!!" Obviously, I agree.
He asked where I was from, when I told him I was from New Jersey, he said "Oh, I've been right by there!" and I said, "Oh yeah, where?" He replied, "Boston!"
That made me laugh because I live four hours from Boston. So I wanted to be like... well, that's not really "right by" me. But I guess when you're from Morocco, it is! Perspective.
He then asked me if I'd ever been to Morocco (no) and if I've ever had Moroccan food (not really). He said I should come in and eat at the Tangerine Cafe. I said I would, but I was on my way to meet someone. He said I would really like it and that the food there is pretty authentic to what he has at home and is very good. I told him that I love hummus (which they have at the Tangerine Cafe) and he said "Oh! I'll go get you some!" and disappeared INSTANTLY.
It was SO funny. Like I didn't even have time to say anything, he just immediately went to go get some. I didn't know whether to follow him inside or not, he was gone so quickly... I just kind of stood in the doorway awkwardly.
He came out with a little container filled with hummus and said, "Here you go! Hummus for you!" It was so sweet! Free hummus from a cute boy. What could be better really?
Men of the world who would like to woo me: If you bring me free food, you are ten steps ahead of everyone else.
I thanked him and told him it would make a great snack for later. "Yes! Enjoy it!" he said, and on I continued in my World Travels.
In Italy, I got another glass of wine. Sold to me by another woman. Sigh. Hey, I'm all about Girl Power, but when it comes to the World Showcase, I would rather associate with the male models they hire.
She was nice though, and helped me choose one since I had no idea what to pick. Honestly, unless wine is REALLY REALLY cheap and bad, like bottom of the barrel crap, I usually like less expensive kinds just as much as the top of the line wines... new wines just as much as aged ones... so I'm not much of a connoisseur is what I'm saying. Wine is just a good thing in general is my point.
Anyway, I can't remember what kind I got in Italy or France... but both were very good, and surprisingly inexpensive. I think they were like $6 or $7 each, which surprised me since the wine at Rose & Crown was $10. Is expensive wine a thing in the UK? It can't be any more a thing than it is in France or Italy... right? I know nothing about this. I will just have to assemble a panel of English/British, French, and Italian Cast Members to discuss this topic when I am at Disney World in 8 DAYS!!!!!
I also bought some delicious Italian chocolates...
French wine + Italian wine + Italian chocolates = MOOD IMPROVEMENT.
Then... Germans. Oh, the Germans.
k:
I went into Karamel Kuche INNOCENTLY!!! Just to take a look!!! Not expecting to have a flirt-a-thon. I WAS JUST LOOKING!!!!
There were two ABSOLUTELY PERFECT German guys behind the counter. I'm telling you, if Ralph Lauren had walked in there, these guys would have been hired for the Fall 2012 campaign immediately. I asked them a lot of questions even though I am not a big fan of caramel and really did not plan on ordering anything. I can't remember much as I was in a love-induced daze, but I think the conversation went something like this:
Me: Oh my God.
German #1: Hallo!
Me: Oh my God.
German #2: Hi!
Me: Oh......my God. You are perfect.
German #1: No you are.
German #2: Are you an angel?
Me: I love you.
Both Germans In Unison: I love you!
German #1: Hey, I saw her first!
German #2: You did not. I did!
Both Germans: *Fighting in German*
Me: I love you.
Both Germans: *Fighting in German Over Me*
Me: Boys, boys. Please! There is enough of me to go around.
German #1: Marry me.
German #2: NO, MARRY ME!
Me: Let's all just calm down. I'm sure we can find a way to sort this out.
Both Germans: *More Fighting In German*
Me: *Dreamy Sigh*
German #1: I've never seen someone so gorgeous!
*My mom texts me saying she is in Epcot*
Me: Oh gosh, I've got to go!
German #2: No. Please stay!
German #1: Stay here, angel! Goddess!!!!
Me: I must go! I'm sorry!
German #1: No! Princess!!!
German #3: Who is this stunning woman? She must be mine!!!!!!!
German #1 and #2: NO! SHE'S MINE!!!!!!!!!
*3-Man German Brawl Over My Hand In Marriage*
Me: Ack...I just... I've got to....WE'LL SETTLE THIS LATER!!!!!!
Whew. That was a very accurate portrayal of what happened. I mean, it's like you're there.
It was really something. Needless to say, that woke me up. I was in a much better mood, and ready to enjoy our second to last night at Walt Disney World!
Up Next: Will we EVER get tired of late night MK marathons???
