Should I add dining to my package? I currently have MYW 7 night room, 5 day regular pass.
I would have the CM run the math for you both ways using both discounts and see which one works better for you!
I just changed my AAA discount at AoA LM room only to the Disney Visa (almost free dining) package at Pop. There are actually 2 different ways to go with the Visa offer...room only OR a discounted package with dining. The gentleman that helped me described the package as something they've never done before since it's a discount on the whole package. He also said it's like "almost free dining". It sounds like it may be the "adults eat and play for the price of kids" that's been discussed here in the past few days. It does save me almost $600 over rack rate, so I'm pleased with it.
January 5 - 11
3 adults
Pop Century - Standard view
7 Day base tickets
Disney Dining Plan - not QS (he quoted me the price w/upgrade which I wanted)
Total package is $2,096.34
Good luck everyone!
Just got AKV Jan 19-27 for 35% off. So excited.
WTH?! I have to confess I'm rather annoyed right now. I've called twice this morning and talked to two different very nice CMs who offered me the exact same package discount, and it's nowhere close to the one above, yet my vacation is very similar. We're booked in a LM room for 2/1-2/9 for 2 adults and 1 child, 7-day base tickets, and DDP. Our original price was $2,878. The rate for us to change it to Pop would be $2,660. That's only a $228 discount. I even mentioned that I saw that someone else saved almost $600 on a very similar scenario but the CM couldn't come up with anything different or better.
Dates are key. They really do matter. The beginning of January (the poster before you) is the deadest time pretty much.. by the time your dates roll around, the crowd calendar I have access to indicates a much busier time..
Remember - these discounts are offered to fill rooms... if rooms are pretty well taken for your dates ... not much of a need to discount and so the discounts are considerably weaker.
ALSO - besides dates, discounts vary considerably by resort.. the LM rooms are in high demand and so its not terribly surprising they would be discounted less than others.
You should call back and check for different resorts (Pop Century for example) and I suspect you will see considerably different discounts.
