Pixar Cruises

That would be cool..He was the first presenter on our cruise and disappeared like magic after his presentation (heard he was in Palos though..hope folks left him alone somewhat..wonder how he likes being a celebrity?). Nancy rode with us on the bus to the winery and stayed with us the entire time..(such an amazing excursion!) but John was not there.

They (and their entourage) were at Cadillac Lounge after the first show time. As much as I wanted to run up to the room, grab my Art of Pixar book and ask he sign it, I respected their privacy.

We were on the Sept 23 cruise and when we went to get our picture taken with Capt Fabian on formal night he asked what we were doing in San Fran. I told him we were going on the Lasseter winery excursion and he was very excited to tell us that he had dinner with John on the last cruise and his wine was delicious. It was endearing, very cute.

Roger Gould (1st presenter on 1st day at sea) had an autograph session at 4PM the same day as the lecture. I did not go for the autograph so I can't comment how crowded it was.

Tia Kratter (2nd presenter, 2nd day at sea) had an autograph session at 4PM that day but according to the note in our stateroom it was, "There will be a special autograph session with Pixar Presenter Tia Kratter, just for our returning Castaway Cay and Disney Visa card holders." I did not go to this autograph session either. .....

Ugh - I did not have a note in out room about the signing with Tia. I really wanted to get her to sign the book. She was a great presenter. We then watched Finding Nemo 3d with her and about 10 other people. I contemplated going to the room and grabbing our book but decided to let her enjoy her vacation with her Mom and sister. She was a hoot in the movie though!

Was it included in the note that came with the book? I knew I had read about Roger's signing and we attended that. But then I checked the navigator for Tia's and it wasn't on there so I assumed she wasn't having one. But now that I think about it, I probably read about Roger's signing on the note that was with the book (since the signing was limited to the same people that received the book, right?).

When we received our book there was a letter next to it on the bed with DCL letterhead. About 1/2 way down it said, "In addition, there will be a sepcial autograph session with Pixar Presenter Tia Kratter, just for our Castaway Club members and Disney Visa Card holders. We hope you'll join us for this unique opportunity on:

September 27th 4:00 pm in Studio Sea, Deck 4 Midship. To avoid dissapointment please arrive no later than 4:30pm.

(Please note: we will limit 1 autograph per person, no personalized messages, and only 1 personal photograph per family/guest grouping)."

Tia's was not on the Navagator b/c it was limited to certain people, I believe.

I think there is too much reading to do on the ship :rotfl2:...I noticed a man with a pin that had the logo for the Pixar Cruise (like those hanging in the atrium) and asked about the pins at Mickey Mates on the second sea day and was told they were limited editions w/ only 500 (per cruise or total?) and they were sold out. I looked back to the first navagator and there was a blurb about "limited edition" pins, but I didn't think anything of it really. Oh well! ETA: when I finally had time to go through this thread, I noticed someone posted about the pins from the 9/16 sailing, but I didn't see it until we came home.

The limited edition pins were a total of 500 for all 4 cruises. On the sept. 16 (first pixar cruise) they were allowing essentially 2 pins per stateroom, no idea how many they sold on that cruise.

Wow that is limited! I guess there were a few available on the 9/23 as I saw one, but that seems so limited that it could have sold out on the first cruise! :confused3

I agree about too much reading. There was too much information on the Navagator. I didn't know there was a special pin offered the first night. I found out after the fact.

There is so much going on when you arrive the first day. People are still trying to figure things out and unpack. Maybe the special pin should be offered the second day? I really wanted to find a Pixar cruise pin but settled for the Pacific cruise limited pin.

I still find it hard to believe they only had 500 for all four cruises. They had the wristbands at first and that was 2 per stateroom. Then after the wristband time it was 2 per stateroom per day for the last 3 days I think. If it was only 500 for all 4 cruises I'd think they would have limited it more. We had flyers in our rooms separate from the Navigator about the pin release(Sept 16 cruise)

500 PER sailing makes more sense to allow everyone a chance. Perhaps when folks return from the 9/30 they can let us know if they could buy the pins.

I don't recall a flyer, maybe I shuffled it under a pile. Oh well!

Well if you look on the back of the pin it say limited edition of 500. I guess they wanted to be for sure they would sell them all.

I went to the stores when they first opened (day we boarded) and never saw the Pixar Pin (or noticed any kind of line up for anything). I didn't even know there was a Pixar one until after the cruise  I'm wondering if they didn't even have enough to use the wristbands (or put on display) so they only gave them to people that asked, maybe???

I also bought the Pacific Coast cruise thinking that was the one specifically made for these cruises. I'm guessing it probably was and then they added the Pixar one after they decided to make the cruises Pixar-specific.

The pacific coast one prolly was also used for the two repostioning cruises this summer...since it did not list ports or anything.

Overall the pin selection for the pixar cruises was way limited. Since they did not have pins for each port, or one that listed the itinerary for the cali cruise. I guess with only 4 they didnt see the need.

I was SO looking forward to the Pixar pin. I hope they still have them for ours.

As I think about this, our first pass had the store closed as we didn't leave port. It was open after our All aboard party around 7pm. We went in to look at all the pretty jewerly

I'm now reviewing the Navigator for Sunday and do not see limited pin with wristband mentioned.

What I read is Limited Edition Pin Station. Unique and one of a kind trading pins available for purchase at our special pin station. Lobby Atrium.

I don't think the Pixar Cruise pin was available on Sept 23 cruise.

There was nothing in the navigator for it on the sept. 16 cruise either. I went to the shops when they opened liked i always do and saw a line by mickeys mate and asked what it was for and it was for the wristbands.

I was on the first Disney Pixar Cruise and the limited edition pin wristband notice was on a separate notice that was in the stateroom on the first day of boarding. It was not in the navigator.

You are right. The Navigator mentions the special pin station, Not the pin itself or wristbands. I assumed after the fact that this was Disney's covert way of talking about the Pixar pin. I know I saw one person on the 9/23 sailing with it on his lanyard. Unless he was on the 9/16 too, they must have had some available. Since I saw it, I asked at Mickey Mates and was told it was sold out. Perhaps they did not have enough to do a formal selling of them and it might have started a riot.

I have the other one that says Pacific Cruise with Mickey and the GG Bridge. That one does say limited edition of 1000 on the back now that I look at it. There were lots of those left. What bugs me is that it says "summer 2012" on the front. Sept. 23, 30th and Oct 7th are not in Summer! Thank kind of annoys me. :confused3

How much was the Pixar pin? $11.95? I'm kind of bitter I didn't get to buy one! ;)
