Pixar Cruises

Erin .. like Erin from table 53 eating dinner with us Erin?? I'm completely horrible with names and especially with screen names but when I noticed your location something clicked.

-Diane

We were at table 53, 1st seating - but on the 9/16 cruise. You were on the next week, correct? Did you have Agnel and Oksana?

We didn't do the Muir Woods tour, but rented a mini-van and drove there. With gas, spent about $100 for 4 of us - but we got in free because my mom has a Golden Eagle passport. The parking lot thing was a pain since my mom walks with a cane or walker, it was tough on her. But the woods were really nice and peaceful, and before I returned the car I drove it down Lombardi street, which was cool. Plus we stopped at that overlook of the bridge and SF, that was amazing. We didn't do Sausalito because the kids wanted to get back to the ship.

BTW, someone asked which sightseeing bus we took - I can't remember their name, but it was the red double decker buses with yellow writing. It was okay - the guide was a little annoying, I learned almost as much about him as I did SF. Okay, you are a starving actor who works for tips, after you have mentioned that 3-4 times I GET IT :rolleyes2 The price seemed pretty flexible - they definitely seemed to be willing to negotiate downward on the price.

LOL - yep that is me! too funny.
How was your long drive home :)
We made it home around 1am our time. I really thought I would be napping today but I have stayed awake so for.

Have fun at DLR this week - we are headed south next Friday!!! Just put the luggage in the garage and left all the toiletries in there... I am half way packed for the next trip.

Classless. I wonder if they have plates from Palo that will be showing up soon.

We were definitely rolling. It was like sleeping in a automatic hammock. I thought one time I was going to roll out of the bed. We were midship.

Too bad about the excursions. We did it on our own but did not have our son with us. We just went into town for a little bit of adult beverages at Hussongs and then to the fish market for fresh fish tacos... This was definitely not a spot on the approved tour area - but we had been there before years ago with a "local".

It was a fabulous cruise - I have never been so relaxed on a cruise. Even with us taking our time doing things we still had time to kill! Even on the last morning... we were waiting for breakfast and loitering before leaving and our dining room was still pretty busy.
Wow, all I took was a photo of the menu, and that's just because I liked the 3d!
Was the rolling the night of the golden mickeys? That was the first night my son slept through the night....I told my dh we may have to move onto our boat if the is the case :p
What an amazing trip!

Sandy- I am right there with you when it comes to people just leaving their trays and napkins and cups at tables (other then right out side the Beach Banket where the servers literally pounced on us to take away the trays and dishes and INSISTED we leave them for them to take care of)..but out by the pools or else where on the ship to just leave it all when there are plenty of trash bins specifically labeled with what goes where....

Also the leaving behind of used towels and the blankets... 5 feet to the dirty towel/blanket hamper thing is asking too much??:confused3...that was just insane to watch and it wasn;t a seat saving thing it was a "someone else pick up after me" thing.... I guess some people figure its all the service they pay to receive. I lean towards being compassionate and polite personally and was proud of my kids who didn't need reminding (unlike here at home...LOL)

I have to admit that we asked our server and head server (who is also the manager of the restaurant) if we could have 1 Toy Story menu as a souvenir and they were happy to oblige and we are framing it to keep.. the thought of hocking it online makes me see red....:furious:

We didn't, we were second seating on 23rd and had Valendor and Christina. I wonder how they determine who serves what area, I would have thought they would have the same tables all the time.

Hiii!!! :wave2:

Drive home was great! I guess the freeway being closed north of Long Beach helped a lot, we had no traffic and were home by 11.
You were estimating getting home at 1, right? I'm glad you didn't have any unexpected delays.

Yesterday getting up and going to work was hard, but I think I'm much more wiped out today. I'm falling asleep at my desk already. It just seems wrong that I have to figure out what's for dinner, where's my menu?!? :confused3

I got most of the laundry done, need to start repacking it for Friday. It was 102 today, but it's supposed to cool back down to 80's by the weekend thank goodness. Have fun at Food & Wine!

Who did you guys have for your Pixar presenters? Was it a couple presentations and an autograph session?

Roger Gould (1st presenter on 1st day at sea) had an autograph session at 4PM the same day as the lecture. I did not go for the autograph so I can't comment how crowded it was.

Tia Kratter (2nd presenter, 2nd day at sea) had an autograph session at 4PM that day but according to the note in our stateroom it was, "There will be a special autograph session with Pixar Presenter Tia Kratter, just for our returning Castaway Cay and Disney Visa card holders." I did not go to this autograph session either.

I do have to say that my DH and I really enjoyed the two presentations. I also think they ran a bit long. They said the 10AM one was for 1st seating patrons and the 2PM for 2nd seating.

For us on the 9/23rd sailing, both morning sessions were not that full. I do think it is worth checking out.

Oh and the book you receive for being either a returning Castaway Cay or Disney Visa Card holder is VERY heavy....so keep that in mind for when you pack if you have to fly! According to my kitchen food scale it is almost 4.5 lbs! Also you might want to bring a padded envelope to protect it if you have to pack it in your suitcase. I managed to put it in a 2.5 gallon ziplock and pad it with t-shirts and it came home fine.

Have fun!

Did the give every Castaway Club members and Disney Visa the Art of Pixar book? That is what they did on the sept. 16 cruise and that was the point of the autogrpah session, to get the book signed.

I believe so. We got the book and are first time cruisers, but paid w/ Disney Visa. The book is very nice. I thought about getting the book signed, but by the time I realized it was time, I decided I didn't need the autographs that badly. ;)

On the 16th were you able to get John Lasseter's signature? I would definitely gone for that one, but while our presenters were very interesting, I wasn't that compelled to get the autograph.

Did anyone on the 23rd go for the autograph? I do wonder how busy it was.

The book is on Amazon for $31.50 now (retail is $50).

No, John Lasseter didn't do any signings. As far as I know the only siginging was the one for the castaway and disney visa...it was Jay Ward. He worked on Cars, and something else. But played a big part in designig carsland. It was a zoo for it.

From what I saw John Lasseter wasn't avaliable for autographs..in fact, he and Nancy left the theater after he introduced the Monsters Inc 3D clip. (we did get his autograph and Nancy's also, on the wine bottles we were given from the winery tour)

Sitting aboard the Wonder, enjoying the beautiful SF weather while my kids nap!!! I've never visited the adults only area. Love it

We went to Roger's signing and it wasn't too bad. They handed out numbers as you walked in and then you were able to sit and wait until they called your number (they called you up in groups of 5).

I do wish we had gone back for the Tia's signing though.

Ohhh, I'm so jealous. I'm back at work....wishing I was in San Francisco instead. :thumbsup2

So jealous! I wish I would have booked this cruise instead of the MR Halloween cruise!

We did the MR cruise last April and really enjoyed it. In one way, I preferred the MR cruise because of the additional sea day (2 was not enough for me...I love sea days, LOL). I'm jealous of you too since I would love to do another MR cruise :goodvibes

I heard John Lasseter was at the winery with Nacy signing the wine bottles.

I just caught a glimpse of the Outlook Bar and Cafe on deck 10 the last night of our recent cruise. Would have liked to spend more time up there. Next time. :thumbsup2

That would be cool..He was the first presenter on our cruise and disappeared like magic after his presentation (heard he was in Palos though..hope folks left him alone somewhat..wonder how he likes being a celebrity?). Nancy rode with us on the bus to the winery and stayed with us the entire time..(such an amazing excursion!) but John was not there.
