December 2, 2012 Wonder Cruise

Hey, we were on the 1st Alaska cruise of the year and weren't planning on going again until 2014 or 15.

However, it looks like we might join you all on this this. We've emailed work, we've emailed our DU agent. By tomorrow we should know for sure and assuming all goes well, we're in.

Did all go well??? Don't leave us in suspense!

I can't believe how fast the last month has gone, I have been very busy with teaching and coaching. The month of September has just vanished on me. Well we are getting closer and closer to the departure date. I was curious of how many of our little band our planning on going to Disneyland in the days prior to leaving and has anyone figured out a good way to get from Disneyland to the port? I'm already to check out the new cars land, I'm glad that I postponed my early year trip this year so I could see the park ready to go when we get there at the end of November. Most importantly since they have opened cars land has the line for Toy Story Mania gotten shorter I'm also excited to see the Christmas theme of Disneyland, it will be my first trip there when that is up and about.... Though I'm told its not as impressive as Disneyworld... but oh well. See you all soon

Adam and I will be doing Disneyland that mon-thur before the cruise... have not yet figured out how we are getting to the port plan to figure that ll out this coming monday. Remind me again where every one is staying. Adam and I are at the BWPPI... everyone else? What dates does everyone arrive? Adam and I get there Nov. 23rd

We arrive on Wednesday, November 28th and are staying at the Ramada Maingate. Still shopping around for transportation...taxis are quoting RIDICULOUS prices from DL to the port! Super shuttle is showing $166.54 for 5 people (SUV) or 134.50 for 4 (car) and NO option for "shared van" service. That's $33 a person and aren't DCL's only $30/pp? Wow! I just know we can do better than that.

We only live 1-1/2 hours from the port so we get to sleep in our own bed the night before sailaway.
BTW, we went to DL one December just before Christmas, and Santa hats are the order of the day. Or you can wait and buy one with mouse ears when you get there.

We arrive thursday morning, getting to the hotel about 11:00 am for a few days of fun before the cruise... We got a four day pass just so we could even wander in the first thing Sunday Morning if we like to get one more ride in. We are staying at the Quality Inn and Suites Anaheim.

We went on an early Sunday morning once and it was great! We happened to stop at a small cafe towards the front of the park for coffee, donuts, etc., and the characters came out from right next door!! Such fun!

I know right?! craziness.

I am still working on my gifts but I at least have figured out what I am going to make everyone. I hope everyone likes them. I figure if when I am done with them I don't want to give them away, it means I did a good job ...

Basically I love my ideas so much I plan to make more then enought for me, you guys and my other disney loving friends Though again thsi all depends if they even turn out I am going to be doing crafty things I have never done before so lets hope I don't screw up due to user error

Yes, I did!

As of right now, we have a total of five couples and of course, one DD(3).

We have a couple of celebrations, too...a birthday, a honeymoon, and a first time cruiser who will be meeting Mickey for the first time as well! Should be a great time!!!

Oh, and we haven't really talked about a meet, either. I am thinking, with such a small group as we have, maybe we could just meet and greet at the sail away party? I'll be sure to have printouts of the FE list for anyone who might forget theirs (it's been done before!). What does everyone think?

We leave this Saturday for our 7-day CA coastal cruise on Princess, so I am pretty much focused on that. LOL!

that would have been a great plan, but sadly already got my stuff and it is not Christmas themed, I could wrap them up then it would be Christmas themed

I certainly have no issue with Christmas themed gifts. I think it's a good idea, we've gotten tree ornaments in the past and nobody took issue with them at all.

Sail away will be a bit crazy, true. We usually skip the giant throng and hang out above the party where it's not so nuts, so I sometimes forget how it can get "down there", lol. There sure won't be a problem finding a meet spot, we barely will take up a corner of wherever we wind up! This cruise just might be the best kept secret on the DIS!!!

DCL announced that from Thanksgiving through the new year, they will be adding sparkle to each ship, with traditional "turkey day" fanfare, Christmas feasts, "snow flurries" and New Year's Eve galas.

Also I must have been typing fast, my DD is only 2 (actually just turned this past saturday) proud daddy here So sorry about the mis type.

I'm really starting to get excited for this trip... which is alot for me to say cause I always annoy my wife by not being excited for trips until a day or two away from the trip.

Also busy thinking and planning the FE gifts.
