I love planning so always have all our trips figured out, maybe not that far in advance but at least a few years and he never gets excited until like right before :(

Sounds like we could really get into the holiday spirit! :goodvibes

Actually, MY mis-type. You were correct. Rest easy, Daddy! ;)

That's my DH in a nutshell. Me, I have the countdown on the calendar, mom and T are excited and asking questions on skype DAILY. :cool1: DH? He wants me to quit talking about it until 2 days before we leave! :crazy2:

So...looks like our group has been getting a little more active, no thanks to me... We've been busy with preschool, visits from family and friends and a little trip to Orlando (no WDW, just WWHP for a day).

We will be driving down the day before the cruise. I still need to book a hotel, and am debating between staying at the port (with nothing to do nearby) or spending the night near DL. We live in the Bay Area, so the drive to LA is about 5 hrs, and we'd be getting there in the early afternoon, if all goes well. Maybe just stay in Anaheim and visit DTD in the afternoon, and head towards the port the next morning?

Also, I like the idea of participating in the FE, but still need to convince DH. Are the gifts per stateroom/couple/family or per person? I think it would be nice for DD3, since she loves getting 'mail' at home, too. She's so disappointed when the mailman doesn't bring her anything, lol.

Am off to read that article about the extra magic on our cruise - yay!

I hope you can talk your husband into joining up with us. Nice to see another one with a little one with us. We have a DD2 who loves to laugh and play. I have a couple of cute ideas for the younger ones on the trip so I hope you join in with us for the FE. I don't believe there is a set number of gifts for the FE... I know I'm planning on doing several small ones but the way it keeps adding up in my head I might just have to bring a suitcase for the FE, and a nice bottle to for DH to drink from. I know the trip is getting closer and closer and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone soon.

Okay, count us in for the FE :cool1:

I asked DD what she thought about giving small gifts to other people on the cruise, and she thought that was 'great', but wanted to know if she would get one too :rotfl:

Really looking forward to our trip!

    It works...I LOVE them!!! :goodvibes

We haven't set any rules for this one, so it's whatever you want to do! DH and I usually do one "room" gift and something small for each person - but this time, with such a small group, I confess to being slightly carried away. My last FE was 17 rooms and 50+ people, so it has been way too easy to convince DH that we need __________ for the FE and it's only $____ which is so much cheaper than the last one! Don't worry, though, they're all small things, and easily packed. I hope everyone finds them useful and fun!

Oh...is it time to leave yet? I'm ridiculous with all this! :hyper:

Just back from our CA coastal cruise on Sapphire Princess. It was a great cruise, with perfect weather every day!! Now that it's behind me, I hope I can concentrate on this cruise. It's only our second cruise on DCL, and we didn't participate in the FE last time. But, I really want to give it a try. Shouldn't be too complicated since we are small in number. ;)

jtiggerb- Love the Tigger pirate logo. But didn't we already have someone in the group who spent quite a bit of time on a logo, and was making all of us door signs??? Or was that you? Obviously, I'm confused. pirate:

We are interested in the FE, we are first time cruisers so a little unsure of what it all entails, how to get involved, and what people typically give or spend. Do you know of anywhere i could look up a little more on the FE. What info do you need, their are 4 of us, my husband and I and our two kids 14 & 9.

I wasn't trying to offend anyone I was just throwing that out there... been working on different looks of it for several months now and just putting out there if anyone wanted to use it or enjoy it. So no it wasn't me who had put out an earlier one.

I always like to go back and check on our cruise.... and until now it has popped up fine... but today I got an interesting message when I looked for our cruise...

We apologize, but the vacation dates you've selected are currently sold out. We invite you to check back again later as space may become available; or, if your schedule is flexible, to select another date or destination. Thank you for your interest in Disney Cruise Line.

I have to say I'm a little surprised about this since most levels had been there before. Anybody else come across this?

    *deep breath before marathon post...*

:) Great to hear you had a good cruise...hopefully we'll have another one in just a little more than a month!!! :dance3:
I'm the one with the door magnet logo, and I think the Tigger ones are fantastic too! The more, the merrier!!!

Welcome to the madness! There are TONS of threads all about FE, but the DIS search function...:sad1:well, it doesn't function. I always suggest google - just put in "disboards fish extenders" and you'll get all the details you could ever want, all the suggestions you could ever need, and all the crafter's envy you can stomach! I'll just give you details on OUR FE, as each one is a bit different depending on the group.

First, you'll need a fish extender - the above search should net you how-to threads on making one, and where-to on buying one, if you're so inclined. Basically, you just need something to hang from your fish that people can put your gifts in! Then, you need to join your cruise meet group - THAT'S US! - and let the person in charge of the FE that you want to participate - THAT'S ME!

If you will be participating, I will need you to PM me your names, stateroom number, and children's ages, as well as if there is anything special we need to know - allergies and so on. Candy/snacks are popular gifts and we don't want any bad reactions!

As far as what to give and how much to spend, it's entirely up to you. Some people prefer to give one gift per family, others do one per person. Some people make their gifts, while some choose to buy them. Anything goes, as long as there's no agreement within the group to set other guidelines - which we haven't. Something from the giver's hometown, something to use on the cruise, something to eat (prepackaged and in compliance with DCL's rules, of course), wear, or take home...your imagination is the only limit! Searching for "FE gift ideas" (again, google, bing, yahoo - choose your search engine, but use one other than the one on the boards!) will get your mind flowing - but so will a trip to the dollar store! No need to break the bank - the idea is to have fun and EVERY gift is appreciated. Just having a surprise waiting for you is icing on the cruise cake! :goodvibes

It was me...and I'm totally not offended. In fact, I might have to steal your Tigger for my door too if you don't mind!!! (I mean, print my own, of course, I'm not really stealing it off your door:rolleyes1)

I hope things settle down for you soon and that everything is okay! :grouphug:

I just looked it up and we're still showing tons of availability. Maybe a temporary glitch? There have been a lot of those lately...:confused3

Whew! I think that's everybody...cruise docs should be coming soon! :scared1: It's really happening! Woohoo!!! :woohoo:

    Ambertrand!

:wave2:Sorry! :scared:Just realized you won't be able to PM me your info as new users can't PM right away (I think it's 10 posts or some such...). If you do decide to participate, and you can't PM by the time you make that call, just post here that you're definitely in and I will get you my email to send the info to. :cool2:

Hi! I am new to the Disboards, but a huge Disney Fan and always wanted to go on a Disney Cruise. I am not going, but I found out my niece and her husband and their adorable 1 year old girl are going on this cruise. They are very private by nature, so I can't reveal their info. But if you see a nice young dark haired couple, with a little girl, who has a round face and short dark hair carrying around a Belle doll, that would be my family. Tell them Aunt Jill hopes they are having a great time! My niece took her daughter into the Disney Store just after she turned 1, and she would not leave without the Belle doll! Well, you know I was happy! I am going to get her a Belle ornament for Christmas. Have a great time on the cruise everyone!

So I know we all talked about a shared ride, but with everything that went on last week I needed something to keep my midnd off of things, which meant I took care of every last minute detail for our trip possible... which means I went ahead and booked the primetime shuttle. I looked at doing a shared van but did not know if they would do multiple stops and such, on top of how to arrange it through the DISboards. Thinking about how to do it made my head hurt so I opted for the easy way out, hope everyone is alright with that :confused3

I love your post Jill, and it made me kinda giggle. On a ship with the capacity of 2,000 passengers, there will be plenty of little girls fitting that description.:goodvibes I sure wish you could come along too!!

Justin- I wear a L T-shirt, and Jerry wears at least an XL. He's a big boy! :)

RavenSilverLight- I don't even know your name! Will we be having a Roll Call list with names, etc.? We don't need last names of course, but we will need room #'s for the FE's.
I like to keep things simple, and have decided to hang out 2 Christmas stockings with our names on them for our FEs. Thanks sooooo much for all the info on where to get ideas for the FEs. You are a wealth of information!!

Glad you like it... if you need a bigger file copy just let me know and I will email you a larger file size so you can play with the size and it wont get fuzzy.

Thanks for those who have already sent sizes either through PM's or just listed here. Hoping more send them soon so I can get that FE started... also characters you like for another FE.... otherwise it will just be up to me.. :)

That's fine with me. My head is spinning with transportation, so I think I am just going to stick with doing just us too. Not being familiar with the area makes it crazy!

Yes, we set a deadline of November 1st, and that's when I'll be sending the finalized list to everyone. We'll all have a list of names, rooms, etc. - and I'll have extra hard copies on board - someone always forgets to bring theirs!::yes::
