2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

Not inappropriate at all....We use a Bank Of America 1,2,3 Visa Rewards. (1% everything, 2% groceries, 3% fuel) When I accumlate $25 it posts atomatically to my "vacation checking accont"
Funny, When I looked for my DIsney card this afternoon it had expired.... went on line and re-applied....now I will get a $50 credit when I use it the first time...
I think the non glass container would work??? As long as we are not obvious..
16 more sleeps!!!

:banana:So excited for you - it's coming right up. I've seen the adds for the BoA card, and was very tempted, particularly with the 3% for gas, with the recent price increases. Great news on getting the $50 credit on the Disney card.

The Boardwalk is such a pleasant and lively place to be. Have a great vacation!!

Does anyone have any information on this special event at FF?

“An Exploration of Sweet Endings” – Wednesday, November 7th, 2012

We booked it and haven't really heard or read much about it.

from the disneyfoodblog.com

Flying Fish Cafe: November 7 “An Exploration of Sweet Endings” <– New for 2012!
Walt Disney World’s very own Executive Pastry Chef Stefan Riemer; “Cheese as Dessert” along with Flights of Dessert Fantasies at 8pm! Joined by Distinguished Wine Guests: Master Sommelier Andrew McNamara & Wayne Raborn from Wilson & Daniels serving up some delicate Late Harvest Wine Pairings. 8pm Reception–8:30pm Dessert Party

It's a new event so you won't hear too much about it. For the signature dinners and special events information, such as the menu, etc. is hardly ever released ahead of time.

I booked the same thing and haven't heard anything either. Just wondering, has anyone emailed u in regards to the price? The lady I booked with said she would email as soon as she has it but I haven't heard back. I was thinking she forgot about me ;)

No we haven't heard anything either. We were told that we could cancel as little as 48 hrs in advance and that we would be charged after the event.

None of the important details like price, menu, etc. The lady we spoke to said there wasn't a menu yet because they were still deciding which wines to feature, which would then dictate what food was served.

I was told the exact same thing. I guess we still wait then. :)

Just an FYI: some of those generic "savory" entries on the list of culinary demonstrations have been updated with the actual information. I just booked another one now that I know what is being prepared (vegetarian in this case).

I had problems booking it online however. It is at 3pm and I already had a 2pm beverage seminar reserved. The online reservation system would not let me book it because it was too close to my 2pm seminar. The warning message included a special phone number for the Disney Reservation Center and stated I should call that number if I really needed both reservations.

Then I remembered that I could book this seminar at a discount if I called DVC Member Services so I gave them a try. They couldn't book it either. The MS CM put me on hold for a bit but then came back on the line to say nobody there could figure out how to get around the restriction.

Then I called the Disney Reservation Center and after 5 minutes on hold a very nice CM booked it for me and gave me the DVC discount. In the end it took me nearly 30 minutes to get this reservation. I hope it's worth it! :rotfl:

From Disney Parks Blog: Bethenny Frankel has been added as a last-minute addition to the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival lineup.

I have no idea who Bethenny Frankel is but some of you may be thrilled about this new info: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...pcot-international-food-wine-festival-lineup/

She is from Bravo tv Real Housewives of NYC and Bethany Ever After. She sold her Skinnygirl drink concept to Jim Beam for beaucoup bucks. I would actully like to see her speak in person.

This is not a food and wine festival event. This is a private event from the Flying Fish restaurant. For info on this event, you would need to contact Boardwalk or the Flying Fish directly, you should have contact info associated with your reservation.

I haven't heard that FF has released prices for its dinners yet, but I've been on the cruise on the Fantasy.

Does anyone if (or when) they'll announce the Cast Memeber preview for Food and Wine. I assume it will be on Thursday the 27th? I know in year's past that the preview took place from 1pm-5pm(ish) on the preceding Thursday to the start of F&W

They don't announce it publicly but it is always Thursday before opening. So, this year, the 27th.

I thought that was her...

And I don't have any desire to see anyone who EVER appeared on any "Housewives of ANYTHING" LOL! (Plus the word that comes to mind when I see her rhymes with "witch")

And I don't see a real connection here... I guess the Skinnygirl drinks but... we are streching again Disney LOL!

Someone called me from the Food and Wine staff today regarding our PFTS tickets. They asked if we had any allergies or had anyone we would like to sit with. So excited we leave one week from tomorrow!

Yep. Me too. She asked:
1. Anyone in our party have allergies?
2. Anyone in our party have special needs?
3. Is there another party going to the PFTS that you would like to sit near?
4. The call concluded with: "Great, you're confirmed for the Party for the Senses. Thank you!"

Jim Beam is a sponsor of the F&W Festival, and they purchased the Skinnygirl rights from Bethany for $$$$$$$$$$$$.

Hey all if your around for Oct 5th, can recommend the Kitchen Memories with Duskie Estes and John Stewart of Zazu Restaurant Farm if it's not sold out...we went last year and enjoyed the lunch thoroughly - food was pork inspired and the stories were interesting and fun ... we were in wine country last month and ate at their restaurant Zazu and it was great as well.... Also did Art Smith a couple of years back and again enjoyed both the food and the stories...
This year we are going with some 1st timer friends and PFTS is the big event so - until next year for Kitchen Memories... Have fun all!

Are you seated in the vine view loung or the reserved seating? Wonder if they will be calling everyone as their date gets closer

We are in the reserved seating, not WVL. Will be interesting to see how they set up the floor this year.
