How accommodating are they with letting you pick a longhouse?

It depends on how you define accommodating. They'll let you request, and they'll note it on your reservation, but they'll never guarantee. They say that they'll do their best to try.

It is now 11:52. Mrs. B. is sleeping soundly (I think). "Wake up" time is in about 3.5 hours. I have no desire to sleep whatsoever. I'm wired. :hyper: I'm hoping to catch a nap later, and then maybe fall asleep on the plane some. The sandman is not my friend at the moment, hehe.

Ah, I'm familiar with that feeling! I hope you get some sleep, or at least a nice nap on the flight! I'm so excited for you guys!!!

So, I'm not sure if this has been mentioned on this thread yet, but all of the permits and Notice to Commence construction were filed last week for the Polynesian room refurb. The room refurb is the only thing that is mentioned on the permit, so all other repairs (Pool, GCH, etc) may or may not be on hold.

I am excited to see how the new rooms come out!!! I know alot of you Poly lovers love the rooms as they are, but I've never been too keen on them, although I still want to stay here. Based on the existing construction schedule, I should certainly have my newly refurbished room in April!!! :yay:

I never sleep the night before a trip, you'll have time for sleeping later! Safe travels!!!:goodvibes

My guess is all of those things would be different permits. It doesn't sound like they are anywhere near starting the GCH work, so having that all planned out would have delayed the permits for the rooms, plus it's completely different work (massive overhaul vs. room remodels).

It will be interesting to see the new rooms. Nice that you will be able to enjoy a fresh room with your spring trip!

My only hope now is that the pool will be in good operating order while we are there! :thumbsup2

Looks like the refurb at least kills the rumor that some of the long houses might be torn down for DVC expansion.

i am SO EXCITED to finally post we are BOOKED for the poly Sept 8th to Sept 13 2013!!!!! I called today my kids birthday is on the 8! I am going to TRY to keep this a secret.. but i know me!

Yah!:cheer2::cheer2:
Kona's first?
Where you able to check in your room?
Did Guitarob get any sleep on the plane?? :)

1. Absolutely, 2 orders of Tonga Toast with Lilikoi mimosas

2. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, so we went to DHS and knocked out a couple of rides. I received a text Around 1:30, letting us know that the room we had on our honeymoon and first anniversary was ready. It. Is. Perfect. Not a speck of dirt, a towel Mickey, everything in working order, and the best view on property! We are so blessed!

3. I slept pretty much the entire flight (about 2 hours), and I'm ready to rock! Time to hit the pool. I'll post a few pics when I have some downtime, maybe in the morning.

Yeah, I would say so. I really think the Poly is a beautiful resort. I was just not sold on the room decor, but we are staying there regardless in April. But, based on the schedule, the Hawaii building should be done, so I will hopefully get the new room design. It's so exciting!!!

I just stayed in a new room at WL and it was awesome!!!! I love getting brand new rooms!
