You betcha! LOL The photo spot in front of the waterfall would be nice. Or down in front of the water with the Death Wheel in the background?

The Death Wheel! hahahahahaha...I love it!! We HATE that ride!! We ride it in the swinging cars....because you know...you have to...but we hate it! :)

Does anyone know if Mel posted the blue tee shirt, not the design but the color she has chosen? I asked her awhile back but never saw an answer. I really want to find a shirt before the stores have nothing but winter clothes.
Beth, while you were gone some of us discussed a group photo in CA since we can't do the Princess one. What do you think about a photo there?
Lisa wants tie dye in the hippie stand in Carsland. LOL

I've seen the list of 'colors' to wear during the trip...do we purchase all of the shirts on our own or do we purchase one from TinkerMel?

Also, how do we get involved in the scavenger hunt & other events. (is it premature to ask these questions? Does more info come out later?)

i am not a tie dye fan but I think this might be cute. LOL ;) I'd like to know the color as well but haven't seen anything yet.

No, no you don't....I haven't ridden the swinging cars and I won't. I could barely stand to ride in the stationary cars........I HATE that ride.

You know, I've heard all the hate about the so called "death wheel", so when we first rode it in 2010, I was a little scared to pick the swinging cars, but we did it anyways, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I was thinking it would be. Not sure why everyone's so scared of it, lol.

Guess who just booked her flight for the girls trip?!?!?!? :dance3:

Since I had the approval from my boss, I decided to check out prices when I got home, and they just happened to have a seat sale going on at WestJet, so I jumped on it and am now booked! I come into LA at 9:05pm on Wednesday the 27th, and my flight leaves at 1:15pm on Sunday the 3rd to come back home. :cool1:

Now I just have to figure out hotel. Jessica is not 100% sure she can afford to stay at HoJo, and I know I can't afford a room all by my lonesome, so if there is anyone I can room with, or who could like to room with me (Ive got a room booked with 2 queen beds at the HoJo), please let me know! I know it's still early, but I want to make sure I can cancel my hotel in time, if need be.

Oh....16mo old Halloween stuff could be TOTALLY cute!!! :)
I agree! It would be fun to shop for a real little one.

I only skimmed what I missed while I was away, but I didn't see any shirt color. Aren't you going to order it from Mel?

I am so bummed about the Princess photo!!! So there really is no place to take photos with the princesses at all?? That shot with the tiaras was one of my favorites.

Which waterfall? The one on the bridge over GRR?

Yes they were on the main board. Exchanges are always fun. :). I also have an almost 14 ur old that would enjoy as well. She has done one in the past where they allowed kids.

Definitely sign her up! These exchanges are way more fun, in my opinion, then the ones on the CB. I think because we know, or will meet, the person. My only problem is I tend to get carried away sending a lot of items! I think we all do. :rotfl2:

I hate it. It's evil.

All of the shirts are purchased on your own, except the group tee. So, if you need a pink group tee from last year, PM Melody/Tinkermell and let her know.
Also, when the time comes for group tee, she will put all the info out there, and you can order it from her. IF you want to try and match the blue color, you can buy your own and send it to her to be printed. But, I think most of the group just orders from her.

As for the hunt, party, meals and other items, sign-ups will start for those later on. Don't worry, announcements will be made here and on our Facebook page. You won't miss it. :goodvibes

Come on now Lisa, I thought we were friends. Repeat after me...NO TIE DYE! :joker:

I think having the picture somewhere new in DCA is an excellent idea. ;)

Yeah for airfaire! Now you are for sure coming! Yippee!:cheer2:
I am sure you will find a roomie. I don't think anyone has been left without one in the past years. Sometimes women room hop from one to another, it just works out that way. :)

I have a dentist's appointment tomorrow. I know you are all jealous!
But I am going to have lunch with Brianne before so that part I am looking forward to.

I think this would be perfect!

I always mail Mel my own tee. It may not match the color exactly but I get the fit that I know will fit me.:goodvibes

Ladies... I am so excited to see this as a new member! (I am still figuring out the app, however). I can't confirm now whether I'll be able to make the trip but I would love to get to know you all better regardless. (I feel like I already know Shelby of MyYearWithTheMouse fame). My name is Karisa (rhymes with Teresa) and I am in lovely sunny Phoenix. I am a newly single mom to two delightful boys ages 8 and 5. I can't wait to get to know you all and I really hope to be able to meet you in person!!!!

Oh... a picture.... how do I put a picture in here??? Guess I can't... it actually says "you MAY NOT post attachments". Boo.

Does everybody stay at the HoJo? We LOVE the HoJo, but I canNOT BELIEVE their prices lately?!?! I don't get it! They are further down the road & their prices have just skyrocketed...I don't get what happened with that?!

I would love to stay there, but the Best Westerns are right across the street from the entrance & are averaging $111/night ($89 W/TH & $134 F/S) for the Park Place Inn & $102/night ($89 W/TH & $116 F/S) for the Anaheim Inn (with AAA membership).

I am waiting to find out if a friend is coming with me or if I'll be bringing my daughter (who would bring a friend to go hang out with-she LOVES this idea) before I can commit to a roommate...otherwise I would LOVE to split a room with someone!!!

Beth I so agree about the exchanges. I find myself going overboard when I shop cuz I usually go in with a list of what my person wants and then I go crazy with little "extras" cuz I think oh isn't this cute isn't that cute and prob cuz it is all stuff I would want myself LOL. But that's half the fun. Not just getting something but making the package and getting excited to see the person get it!!

FYI for those who want to use Southwest they opened up their fares through the trip dates. Right now it is 83 to fly down on Wed and 135 to come back Sunday unless you take the last flight which is 83. Even then 83 is a little spendy times two esp since we have to buy 5 tix. Any flight gurus think they might have a sale between now and then or are we better off to get it now? Also not sure but if you buy a fare on southwest and it DOES go on sale can you repurchase and get a credit for the difference?

So jealous of those of you doing the half this weekend. We had REALLY hoped to do it next year but if Katy does cheer again there is no way because that is the first football game and they are really adamant about them not missing. So I am hoping maybe we can do the tinkerbell one in Jan of 14. She really wants to do it and Shelby and I are thinking about just walking the 5K. Just like mouse adventure I REALLY hope I can make it happen eventually. Katy has 3 5k's that she is already signed up for. She is doing one over 9/11 weekend that is called Race to Remember and it is really cool because as they cross the finish line they give them an american flag that they then place in a spot that represents someone who was killed on 9/11 and also all the proceeds go to the widdows and orphans of fire and police so really cool! Then there is one in apple hill that runs through the orchards and vineyards in Nov and she is doing one thanksgiving morning that is the run to feed the hungry. So she is all excited.

Love the trip talk and getting excited. It looks like for us since we are going down with the girls and the ex again that mom and I will prob go to the meet and greet and do the group photo and scavy hunt and then hopefully join you guys for breakfast and Sunday. Not sure if Katy's team will be in the cheer deal or not but either way it will workout since that is an off day. So glad to be able to participate in a few things this year!!

I like the idea of the group photo in DCA also. Something different!

No, no you don't....I haven't ridden the swinging cars and I won't. I could barely stand to ride in the stationary cars........I HATE that ride.

hahaha....the secret to the swinging cars is "uppy arms"....the ride is TERRIFYING if you are clenched to the cage like I usually ride it! My friend convinced me to ride it with uppy arms...she SWORE to me it would work...she was right...you kind of go with the flow of the ride if you do. I've never actually been on the stationary cars! :) There are HILARIOUS youtube videos of people riding...I was laughing so hard at one I was crying!!

Citty I didn't go the first year but I did the 2nd two and the Hojo was the main hotel the first few years as that is where we did our meet and greet but the last 2 they moved it to the carousel so some people started staying there and there was a big contingent who stayed at the Grand. I am not sure if people are going back to the Hojo this time or not but I don't think it really matters unless it is important to you to stay where others are.

I know for us my mom is almost 70 and has a bad knee so for her staying as close as possible to the parks is more important. We have stayed at Desert Inn and then Paradise Pier and the DLH the last few times. Probably will be back at one of the Disney hotels again this time unless the prices are outrageous.

It is just a preference and if you want to save money and find a cheaper place then the rest it's fine. There are plenty of opportunities to meet up with others at the meals and activities and such. :)

I have not stayed there YET (will be this October for the first time) but right now the Anaheim Plaza Hotel is showing $74/night for a room with two queens during that time period.

Sorry that's the average. 59/night thursday and friday and 89/night friday and saturday.

We haven't stayed there yet either, but have looked at it several times & it gets great reviews on TripAdvisor. It is a fair walk though...we've stayed at the Super 8 next to that. We decided we didn't like staying around the corner like that...we felt too far away. But if the prices is right & gets us there.... :)

Thanks for the info!!! I forget to check the resort hotels -I'm an annual passholder right now & they give good rates sometimes. Just not too far in advance though.

Can someone send me the correct Facebook link for this group? I must be typing something wrong because I can't find you on facebook!

I may have to try this. I love roller coasters (we visit Six Flag Magic Mountain all the time) but the Wheel of Death scares the heck out of me. Lol.
