Official March 2013 thread

We're old :rotfl2: I'm 45 and my husband is 44. We have two kids a daughter who will be 10, almost 11 and a son who will be 5 a few weeks after the trip.
We'll be there from March 18-25th, staying at Windsor Hills. Doing a 4 day park hopper pass and hoping to do a YES program, for individuals. I was just going to call and see if 4 and 11/12ths is close enough to 5 that our little one could also do it. We live in Oregon. I do family and child research and DH designs robotics. I'm a huge crafter and cake artist, when I have time.

Last year we had a Facebook group page for everyone going in March - it was very easy to get to know everyone, and a bit easier to chat and plan Dismeets. I'd be happy to set one up if anyone is interested. :thumbsup2

Since we are all going around the same time, I thought we could get to know each other a little before we go. Maybe we can set up a meeting while there! :wave2:

So, a little about me....I am 32, husband also 32, one child, DD will be 6 in Sept. We are from Austin, TX. I am in Tech Support and hubby is a Paramedic (My Hero). We will be in the world March 8-16 staying at POR Royal Rooms. :cool1:

This is DD's first trip and a total surprise to her! She thinks we are going to see my grandfather who lives in Florida (We will go see him one day but that is OT).

Our trip includes 6 day Park Hopper with Water Park option. Hubby and I have been to Disney once together with my family about 11 years ago (before we were married). My trip was shorter than his and I only got to do DHS and Epcot with them before I had to catch a flight for a job interview, but he continued on to MK (my fav) with my family without me :sad1:

Hubby has been to WDW only one other time with his family, but I have been multiple times with mine. This will be our first Real Vacation as a family with just us. We have been on cruises with friends and family but never just us so we are SUPER excited. :cheer2:

So that is my life story (or at least it felt like it)....What's your story??? popcorn:

As for my story...

I am D~ - and I spend way too much time on the Dis - usually in the Trip Report section. I am married to my DH (Josh) who no longer enjoys Disney, and prefers to stay behind with our Golden Retreiver (Max... or Monster Max... MM for short).

Mostly, I am a SAHM... DH runs an IT dept at a local hospital. I work very part time at Target in their photolab, and I also run my own sewing business - which has been a lot of FUN!

We have 2 girls... Allison and Victoria (Alli & V) who are 14 & 13 respectively - both of them LOVE Disney just as much as I do - and we are always planning a trip, even if we don't get to go.

For this trip, we are planning to stay at POFQ - but we are xxxxing finger for FD before we book. I don't know how long we will be staying, but we like to stay for 7+ days when we go, it seems to make the airfare prices a bit better to swallow.

If you'd like to read more about our adventures... Both my PTR and TR are in my siggy at the bottom of my post.

Alright then... someone get one set up!!! ;)
That would be AWESOME!!
We can keep each other company while being impatient lol

OK - I am setting one up... The name of the group is WDW Disers March 2013 It is a closed group, so you'll need to ask to join. :)

I cant pull it up...:sad1:
thank you for making one!! :goodvibes
I know nothing about that sort of stuff lol.

YAY!! that worked!! I am the one with the default pic of the crazy family in front of the castle lol.
thank you!!

I finally convinced my parents to go to the kindgom with us before we go on our cruise :cool1: But I noticed that on touring Plans they are predicting crowds of 9 and 10. What I am wondering is this the norm (I understand that they use numbers from the past and they can not predict the future) for this time of year? If so we may have to rethink plans.

The crowds definately got thicker as our vacation went along this last March. As long as you have a good touring plan of attack and know what's important to see and do, you shouldn't have a problem doing and seeing what you want.

The thing with 2013 is that Easter is in March, so the later you get into March - not only do you have your Spring Break crowds, but you also have the crowds that go along with Easter break - and some of them overlap. So, I guess it really depends on the exact dates of your trip.

I do find that Touring Plans is quite accurate though.
