I'm in!
Even though I found this TR on my own, feel free to attribute it to Laura's Referral Service as well. I think she psychically referred me to it.
Anyway, I'm in. I'll try to keep up.
LOVE The Land .. but how did you manage to stay awake during Circle of Life ?? I totally fell asleep in there.
I think the world doesn't walk as fast as I do and sometimes it feels like an evil curse.
or my favorite, the person who is walking right at you and doesn't move over to avoid the collision.
I could eat caramel too. Right this second. Do I have any? Nope.
I should have brought some back. Those caramels with sea salt and dark chocolate...Why didn't I bring any of that back with me? Sometimes I can't explain my behavior.
I'm so disappointed in myself. The caramel pretzels? and the caramel brownie? Yup, can't imagine what made me think I didn't need them.
Your LOST conversation is cracking me right up. I can't count the number of times I heard the "THUD" and then LOST comes on the screen and I'm all, what the what?? And then I'd run to some internet message board and pray that people could help me make sense of things. It really was a complicated show--so many characters, so much (overlapping) backstory, the time travel stuff, dharma, the numbers...When it aired (live) I couldn't have any distractions while it was on. Oh, no no no. So Tim would take the kids and get them ready for bed, and I'd lock myself in the bedroom and watch, with the DVR remote in hand in case I missed a line of dialogue or something.
I only watched alone, after everyone went to bed. We DVRd it so that I could rewind too.
It was the time travel stuff that really got me. I don't usually "do" sci-fi, so I was totally lost with all of that stuff. I LOVED the first season with all the back stories, that's the part that got me really hooked. Luckily my brother did all the leg work to figure out what was happening, so he could explain it to me. We do have warring theories about the last episode though. I adored it, and he was on the fence. He doesn't agree with my explaination of it.
When Boone died, I couldn't believe it. I was a wreck.
I cried. A lot.
When I watched season 1 again a couple of months ago, I cried, again, even though I obviously knew it was coming. And when he showed up in the finale, I cheered. I loved him.
Me too!!! I was watching the finale with tears in my eyes mumbling "Boone's there!" with a ridiculous grin on my face. No one else was in the room.
When Shannon got shot, Tim and I both cheered. Same with Ana Lucia.
Hated them both. And, I was always on the fence about Kate. Still not sure if I like her or not.
Juliet-took me a long time to like her-I was always afraid that she was really a baddy underneath. Now? I think she's a saint and I love her.
And, don't get me started on Hurley. He's my special favorite. I love him to bits, and the part when he was in the mental hospital? Killed me. That's the part of the show when I really started yelling at the TV and telling my brother that I hated the show and him for getting me hooked on it. I had no idea what was going on, and I was so sad for Hurley!!!!
I'll stop now.
Ok, me too then.
I do!!!
Loving your report so far!
LOL!! I was laughing at your description of Mission Space. Mission Do Not Barf! LOL! I think I will have to call it that from now on.
The last time we rode it was before they had the Orange and Green sides. So, it was full force. Let me tell you, I discovered on that trip that the body can only go around in circles so many times before the body starts turning a sickly tint of green. I didn't realize that we were going around in circles until my wonderful DH pointed it out to me. Thank you Honey. LOL! After that, I couldn't go on it again. So, DH & DS ride it while I buy myself a bucket of popcorn and a soda. Then I wander over to the lobby and take a look at everything. I can't even do the carousel. LOL!
Quinn reminds me of my son Chris at that age. He could, and still does, fall asleep anywhere. Especially in the car. He is always contorted into some weird kind of position that would make a normal person sore for days afterwards. LOL!
Jamminators= awesome! Love sitting and watching them perform.
We have always loved Innoventions at Epcot. It's always been one of our favorite places. Especially on rainy days. We have always been big science and technology nerds so we could easily spend a few hours there.
Can't wait to read about AK and Tusker House! It's one of the places that we are most looking forward to eating on our next trip.
Sorry for being so long winded. Just really loving your trip report so far and it's making me smile and getting me excited for our trip.
Love it so far <3 <3 I have laughed the entire time, cannot wait for the rest!!
And that's why you're my favorite.
LOL. Laura's Referral Service! Think there's any money in it?
I know! Me too!
This is me too! Just ask my family who have to try to keep up with me. And when I try to walk slow it feels slllloooooowwwww. Totally unnatural. Everyone should just speed up.
I know. It's like you're playing chicken with them.
\
Loving your TR!!
Also love your kids names! I wanted to name my little one Liam.
I think the world doesn't walk as fast as I do and sometimes it feels like an evil curse.
I always get stuck behind the person or persons who thinks it is ok to just stop walking right in front of me to do nothing! Or the family that thinks its ok to stand in front of the door way to dicuss their touring plans for the day, or my favorite, the person who is walking right at you and doesn't move over to avoid the collision.
<--------Will never ride Mission: Barf EVER. I don't enjoy feeling sick for the next 20 hours after a "fun" ride.
I think I will try some of those morning, middle of the afternoon, and evening mommy beverages you spoke of. Should enhance my mommy mood tremendously this trip.
Loved the Cape May experience. Goofy is our favorite too!
The mere thought of Mission Space makes my head swirl. Thankfully my guys have NO interest in it.
LOVE The Land .. but how did you manage to stay awake during Circle of Life ?? I totally fell asleep in there.
Living with the Land is one of our families first favorites. The twins were 10 months old the first time they rode and it's been one of their favorites ever since.
Sorry about the rain .. still. But looks like you made the best of it !
Even though I found this TR on my own, feel free to attribute it to Laura's Referral Service as well. I think she psychically referred me to it.
Anyway, I'm in. I'll try to keep up.
im in! I read up till now and youre TR is great so far (minus the tears!)
I am also joining. Great TR. You crack me up. We will be at CBR in August so I look forward to hearing more about it.
I'm in!
darn. nebo has owed me a grand marnier slushie for a few trips now, and I was bound and determined to get one next trip.. now you have me rethinking.....
I am loving your report. On our last trip I had a good cry on Tom Sawyers Island also. We were travelling with a large group of people who did not see a need to plan anything and it started raining and I lost it. So my dh decided then and there that the next time we go to WDW, we are not telling anybody. We are going alone.
We love Epcot also. Your pictures from Cape May were great. I need to put them on my ADR list.
Great trip report! Can't wait to hear about the rest!
this made me laugh so hard! This is our view.
Note the tree. And the leaves.
<------Idiot.
Love you report so far. Your boys have beautiful names. It must be so tough to try and juggle all those food restrictions. Sucks that your first day in the park was pretty crappy. At least your Epcot day turned out good. Except for your view of the fireworks
this made me laugh so hard!
I'm glad you let your kids explore Innoventions. My mom never let us explore it when we were kids because she thought it was a waste of time. I plan on making up for lost time on my Disneymoon next year.
I give you props that you actually went on Mission Space. I wouldn't touch that ride with a ten foot pole.
Also I have to say I'm learning a lot of useful tips from your report.
Great Tip #1:
I'll have to get myself some of these. I'm also a bit of a coffee connoisseur.
Great Tip #2:
Holy Guacamole! I have to have one of these.
This is the first thing I thought of when I saw that:
Can't wait to hear more about your trip! Great job on your first TR!! I'm enjoying every minute.
No, please, chat away! I love it. So glad you're enjoying the TR! It does feel good to know I'm not just talking to myself (as I appear to do so much IRL).
Are you from the northeast? I am, and everyone walks really fast there. Then we moved to California, and some people walked quickly but others were in a California Beach State of Mind, so they didn't, but I get that. Now here, in New Mexico, everyone drives slowly and walks slowly and talks slowly and AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! Head explodes.
There is a facebook group I joined long ago that is, by now, surely defunct, but I loved it. Okay, I just loved the name: "I Want To Punch Slow-Walking People in the Back of the Head.".
I haven't known Laura long, but I agree that she has a strong psychic pull. Fortunately she appears to use it for good, not evil.
Oh, I hope you enjoyed BWI as much as you were expecting!Hey, you can only do so many TS restaurants. We canceled a couple of them this trip, too. But do keep it in mind for future visits! The character interaction was really good, the food was not bad at all, and it's in such a bright, sunny location. We liked it a lot!
Good luck in the future regarding the orange team. I strongly urge you to prepare your arguments now.
I too am looking forward to the part of the TR where we switch over to the BWI, because while CBR is nice and all, the BWI is where I was really, really excited to stay.
The rain thing--in all honesty, it was hard. I don't mind a drizzle too much, but the actual storms were hard on our outlook. The kids didn't seem to mind (exhibit A: child asleep in stroller) but it took a lot of positive thinking on our part to keep our spirits up. I just wish I'd been more prepared for the type of rain we got initially. I honestly thought it was just going to be the typical afternoon thunderstorms.
I am so glad we were in Epcot this day, though. I think it made all the difference. Yay, another reason Epcot rocks!!
