All you need is to believe....~Our Sizzling Summer Getaway! July 2012~~ TR started!:)

OK Angie, if I can handle RNRC you can too! I will also admit to being really nervous the first time I rode it (I held on for dear life and had my eyes closed the whole time). The launch is pretty crazy but it's also pretty fun too. Amazing how your opinion of something can change after a few rides. I hope you like it!

The Animation Academy is great! That's always a good thing to do when it starts to get really hot outside. ::yes::

Your DHS plans look good.

We have never seen B&B show, or Fantasmic! and I don't think they are on the list for this year either...mistake?

Thanks! It took us four trips before we saw B&B or Fantasmic. I just wasn't sure they would be something we would like especially Fantasmic because I kept hearing so-so reviews and stories about how bad the crowds were, etc. It ended up being worth it for us. We loved it! It's DH favorite night time show and it's my second favorite after Wishes.:thumbsup2

I love all of your plans for your Hollywood Studios day. When we first went to WDW, we didn't really love Epcot. But, like you, I did more research and then realized that we were "doing it all wrong" and now we love it. I am sure that you are glad that you guys gave Hollywood Studios another chance.:thumbsup2

Thanks Lisa! I'm so glad we gave Hollywood Studios another chance too! I can't wait to go back!:thumbsup2

Love your DHS day! That's my favorite park! Probably because I've always wanted to be in the shows! :goodvibes

It's becoming a favorite of ours as well.:goodvibes I love the shows! I'm so excited to see the Little Mermaid show! (It will be our first time seeing it.:yay:) Although I'm not too sure how excited the boys are:rolleyes1 Then again they did sit through Beauty and the Beast last year and enjoyed that!

I love all the saving for Disney ideas! It is my goal to begin putting away about $100 a month...but little things like broken elbows and surgery may take a bite out of our monthly budget for a while! ;) We put the money we budgeted but did not spend on our spring Virginia vacation back into savings for the Disney trip, so we have a bit of a headstart.

Like you, I am a big fan of EMH. I know it gets mixed reviews here on the DIS, but it really works well for our family.

The DHS plans look great! The take-off on RnRR is intense, but short. Noah should be fine. Isaiah was nervous about it on our last trip, but ended up loving it!

That's great that you already have a start on your vacation budget next year.:thumbsup2 Trying to put away $100 each month has worked out well for us...well except for the months where you may need that little extra for something else.:rolleyes1 Speaking of which...poor Isaiah! I hope he's doing better!:) I'm sure he's so happy to be back home.:thumbsup2

I think Noah will really like RNRC! I think I'm more nervous for him than he is!!:rotfl:

Ok, this is the first I'm hearing of Disney Animation classes. I'm going to have to look into it more.

I'll admit it, I have a slight fear of fast-paced coasters...but I LOVED Rock n Rollercoaster. The start of the ride is intense, but it's such a fun ride. I love Tower of Terror though. My first trip, TSMM was not there and I'm looking forward to it! Your plan looks awesome to me :)

We've never done the Animation classes before but I've read about them in other trip reports. It looks like a lot of fun plus you get to keep the picture you've drawn which is great free souvenir!

So glad to hear you loved Rock n Rollercoaster!! I like roller-coasters but the ones with inversions still make me a little nervous. :worried: Aww....you're going to love TSMM! It's so much fun!:thumbsup2

Sounds like a great day planned!

Thanks!!:goodvibes We're looking forward to it! We have a lot of new things to try that day.

Great saving/budgeting ideas Angie :thumbsup2 It's amazing how much you can save by just doing a few little things differently!

DHS plans sound fun, it's so great you are able to take advantage of morning EMH, you see so much without any crowds - I'm thinking that will be especially true for you in July. Unfortunately that strategy doesn't work for my family as my girls are not early risers...which I'm usually thankful for except when we're at Disney :rolleyes1

Thanks Lara!!:goodvibes We really have been able to save a lot just changing things here and there.:thumbsup2 Every little bit helps!:)

We have always had great luck with EMH even when we return later in the day. I'm hoping the same thing holds true for July. When we went in August, I remember it being so hot that the only relief we had was getting up and heading to the park as early as we could. We are expecting July to be the same way so I'm glad that the boys are still early risers. Although, I don't know how much longer it's going to be that way for Nick.:rolleyes1

:laughing:Thanks Sarah! I'm excited to ride but still so nervous.:scared1: But, I remember feeling the same way before we entered the elevators on ToT and I loved that ride! It was so much fun! I just have to keep thinking about that!!!:thumbsup2

Can't wait to try the Animation Academy!:yay:

July 15, 2012—Day 6 plans

Magic Kingdom

Aww.....the Magic Kingdom. Can't you just smell the popcorn and candy in the air? If you haven't guessed by now, Magic Kingdom is our favorite park. While we love the other three each for different reasons, there is just something about MK. If you remember from my last update and all the worries we had after going to DHS on our first visit. All it took was going to the opening show the next morning at MK to change our minds and convince us that there was no place else like Disney. We were officially hooked!

So, on with the plans for this day. This will be our second full day at the Magic Kingdom. I’m hoping that we will be able to get most of our must-do’s done on the first day so on this day it can be more relaxing…a take time to smell the roses kind of day if you will. Since, we usually only have one full day at MK it always seems like we are rushing through trying to fit in all of our favorite attractions when the one thing I would love to do the most is to spend more time on Main Street or take our time through the different lands just enjoying the atmosphere and really appreciating where we are.

The plan for this day is again similar to all the others. Unfortunately, we didn’t plan any sit-down breakfasts for this trip as we wanted to take full advantage of the early morning hours in July. On this morning like every other we'll probably grab something at the food court. Since it’s not an extra magic hour morning we may actually be able to sleep in a little on this day which will be nice. Although, I’m doubtful that it will happen since we are usually early risers anyway…. but especially at Disney.

Then we will take the bus to the Magic Kingdom. Hopefully, we will have caught the opening show on our first day there so we don’t have to rush to make it in time.
100e3396.jpg

But…if we happen to arrive to catch the end, we may be able to get a glance of these guys again….
100e3399.jpg

I’m thinking when we arrive our first stop will be at Town Square to meet Mickey and Minnie, and then we will continue down Main Street with no particular rush.
100e3402.jpg

Maybe grab another picture like this….
100e3405.jpg

If the boys can hold off having breakfast at the resort, I would love to stop at the Main Street bakery and grab something otherwise we may try to visit later that afternoon or evening. Then the plan is to continue on our way and head left into Adventureland.
100_2951-1.jpg

We plan to ride this
Jungle_Cruise_01.jpg

And this
100_2952-1.jpg

And check out this for the very first time…
Tiki_Room_02.jpg

We’re hoping to visit this as well (also another first)
WaltDisneyWorldSummer2011PC084-3.jpg

And maybe this depending on what time it is and how we are feeling…
100_1693-1.jpg

Then the plan is to head over to grab fastpasses for BTMRR and while I’m doing that either I or DH will take the boys here….
Frontierland_12.jpg

We’ll probably head here for some lunch…
Frontierland_05.jpg

I won’t be getting dessert because I plan to have one of these later….
SSRgym-RagRd-CaptCook-138.jpg

After lunch we may head over to BTMRR to ride if our FP is ready.
Big_Thunder_Mountain_08.jpg

Otherwise we will be heading here…..
Liberty-Square-23.jpg

Noah is learning all the presidents in school this year and is very interested in seeing this attraction. It will also be a good break because I’m sure it will be starting to get hotter as we get closer to the afternoon.
We hope to do this as well at some point….. (Pinocchio especially since we haven’t met him yet!)
tumblr_li0wqvjHJZ1qhi766o1_500.png

The plan for the afternoon is to head back to the resort for a rest and a swim. Then we are heading here for dinner that night—
trexrestaurant00042-1.jpg

Since we will have already hopefully explored DTD after our SeaWorld day, we will probably wait for the Contemporary bus and then once we arrive, we will walk over to the Magic Kingdom. It’s EMH on this night and the plan is to stay a little while to try and experience it.

The only goal for this night is to enjoy this….

tumblr_liagkqRr1f1qhi766o1_500-1.png

And this….
DSCN3916-450x600.jpg

Hopefully, seeing this….
tumblr_li0k6usSe81qhi766o1_500.png

Finally, seeing my favorite…..
tumblr_lm2yvadbya1qhi766o1_500.png

Other than that we are playing it by ear and we’ll do any favorites that we want to do again or just enjoy our last night at Disney. I know it’s going to be so sad to leave on this night especially knowing that it’s our last evening but honestly I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it!!!

Next up—Animal Kingdom plans (last day)

sounds like another great day
MK is our favorite too, love me a cinnamon roll from Main St Bakery - had one during wishes last trip

OT - but too funny, we are going the week of July 4th, I was on the phone with the grandma who planned this trip, and she says, "now you don't think it will be too hot while we are there?" I almost fell out of my chair with laughter. Yes it will. It's July. In Florida. Hooray to us brave few going in July!

I'm liking your semi-go-with-the-flow plans for your last Magic Kingdom day. Like you said, hopefully, you'll have done the major "gotta do's" on the first MK day. It's been several years since we've been to see Hall of Presidents. I always seem to forget about it being there.

Hi Angie! All caught up! Your plans sound great!! I had a bunch of things I wanted to remember while I was reading.

A couple thoughts about Epcot... have you ever tried Sum of All Thrills? My boys LOVE it!! And even if your boys don't like going upside down, they can build one that is less intense. You should definitely give it a try. And if you are in Innoventions, I always find that a good place/time to grab a FP for the Kim Possible missions... which will hopefully be Agent P missions by the time you are there! If you are nervous about Mission: Space - ride the green side first. The Orange side made me very nervous but now that we've done it a few times, I'm OK with it. Tim still doesn't love it because he can get motion sickness but the boys LOVE it!

I hadn't heard about the sandcastle theme for the castle show this summer. I really love how they project things onto the castle... I bet it will be cool to see the new sandcastle version!

Well there's definitely no new interactive queue at Peter Pan... yet. The work they had done a while back was just on the new wheelchair ramp. I guess they are building new bathrooms, across the way, and then they'll tear out the bathrooms near PP to work on the queue. So it could be a while.

You are going to love the new Storybrook Circus area. They did a beautiful job with it. I can't wait to see things after the next phase opens. I'm hoping some things will be open by my October girls trip, but I'm not holding my breath.

Can't wait to read more about your plans!!

I think there's something to be said for just enjoying the last night at Disney. Even if you don't do anything, just sit and realize you're there. Sounds like a great plan to me.

We've never eaten at the Main St. Bakery.:confused3 It's definitely at the top of our list this trip!!

July...hot? :rotfl: That's too funny!! I know...Yay for going in July despite the heat, crowds etc. We're going to have an amazing time regardless...we'll be in Disney!!:yay:

Love your MK day!!!!! ::yes::

Thanks!! Can't wait!! Only 59 more days!!:woohoo:

Thanks Lisa! We're really hoping to get the must-do's done on our first day that way we can concentrate on Adventureland that morning and then there really is no plan...which I'm loving! I think one of my favorite memories of MK was on our last trip when we went the day we arrived with no plan and just did whatever we felt like.:cloud9:

Sounds like heaven to me! :goodvibes

Me too!!!:cloud9: We're finally under 2 months today!!:cool1:

Hi Amy!!

We haven't tried the Sum of All Thrills but we're excited to try it this trip. I haven't really read too much about it. How busy does it get? Is it something I should plan for early morning?

I think if we decide to ride Mission Space, we will definitely try the green side first as DH isn't really interested in riding and I get motion sickness easily.

Can't wait to see the new Storybook Circus area! The pictures I've seen of it so far look amazing.:thumbsup2 I think I was just reading recently that the second Dumbo and Casey Jr. Splash and Soak area will be open sometime in July...very exciting!

I think there's something to be said for just enjoying the last night at Disney. Even if you don't do anything, just sit and realize you're there. Sounds like a great plan to me.

I was so happy to find out that MK had evening EMH on our last night at Disney. I couldn't think of a more perfect way to spend our last night there.:cloud9:

So…I have some news........

:yay::yay::banana::cool1:Our trip is paid in full! :cool1::banana::yay::yay:

I made the last payment yesterday and now we can just sit back and wait for our Mickey Mail to arrive!! I’ve seen the new luggage tags and they are so cute! Can’t wait!!

Also, I finally finished my planning book or almost finished. There are a few things that I want to tweak but overall it’s done. Here are a few pics of how it turned out—

I only took a picture of a few of the pages so you get the idea. I had purchased the notebook a while ago at the Disney store and never really used it for anything other than a few notes here and there. Anyways, I stumbled upon it a couple weeks ago and thought it would be perfect. It has a pocket on the front and back so I can keep any important info we’ll need to keep handy. Cute and functional!!:thumbsup2

We also did a little shopping the other day and I was just itching to pick up a few more things for the trip. Besides a few toiletries, we picked up some pajamas for the boys and a couple of new shirts for DH. We thought the Grumpy one was just too cute to resist. It reads “I may not always be right….but I’m never wrong” I also picked up another Life is Good shirt. I love that brand and have a hard time resisting their shirts…so comfy and soft.

Oh and I just ordered this today--

I can't wait to read it!!

And received this in the mail on Wednesday--

Lastly, while I was browsing on Facebook yesterday someone posted some cute mousekeeping ideas from the DISign board. I loved these and plan on printing them on envelopes this afternoon.

I can't believe we only 58 days left! Time seems to be flying right by and I'm so glad it is except there's still so much to do and get. I still haven't made that list yet...:rolleyes1 I doubt that I will be able to get to it this weekend either. Oh well....there's always next week or the week after.....

Anyways, Have a great weekend and Happy (early) Mother's Day to all the Moms out there!!:goodvibes

There's no better feeling than knowing the trip is paid in full! :cool1:

You are one creative woman. I always say I am going to put together a cool planning book and then run out of time to do it. I just have a pocket folder with all our stuff in it. I think I kinda rebel when it comes to organizing my own personal stuff since I have to keep everybody's file at work in tip top shape. At least that's the excuse I use. :lmao:;)

My daughter loves the Kingdom Keepers series. I tried to read it and just couldn't. I don't mind science fiction type stuff, but I just had to suspend too much reality to enjoy it. Love the Complete Guide, though.

Your planning book looks so fun! I'm going to do something similar on index cards, so it was fun to see!

Yeah for paid! Us too, just got that confirmation email, love it!
Planner looks great. I love being organized for Disney.

Woo-Hoo! Paid in full is AWESOME! :cool1:

That Grumpy T-shirt is very cute. I'd buy it for my oldest son...sounds just like something he would say! :goodvibes

Nice planning book. I love to have a place to keep all my vacation information. If only I had a Disney trip to plan.....**sigh** :)

Aww...I know!! I'm so happy! It means that our trip is that much closer!!:thumbsup2

I've tried to put together some kind of planning book on our past trips. But, usually it ends up being just a notebook with pockets and I write in all of our information by hand. Unfortunately, it always ends up a mess by the time that we go because I'm always changing things. I guess I thought typing it up this time I would leave it alone.:rotfl: Like that will happen.;)

It's funny I had a really hard time getting into the first Kingdom Keepers book. I don't even know if I finished it.:confused3 But, I tried it again with the second one, liked it much better and have enjoyed all the rest.:thumbsup2

This weekend, I put our plans, park hours, must-do's etc. on index cards too. I figured it would be much easier to slip an index card in my bag at the parks then to have to carry the whole book around.

Yeah for paid! Us too, just got that confirmation email, love it!

:woohoo: for paid!!! Oh..I know! I love having everything all organized before we go then once we get there we can just relax and enjoy ourselves.:goodvibes

I knew once I saw that Grumpy shirt that DH would like it!:thumbsup2 Now...I just need to find another cute Disney shirt for me to wear.:rolleyes1
