What can you find in the ship's gift shops that you can't find anywhere else?

Yes this is definitely true!! Buy it while you can! Also, if something sells out while you're on board, I'd assume they can't get another shipment to replace it mid-cruise. So I think it is wise to shop early if there is something you REALLY want. I didn't have an issue with items selling out, but who knows.

(DCL Dooney and Bourke bags in particular ... they are ex-pen-sive but also popular, and they are (mostly) exclusive to the ship. A FEW of the Dream Inaugural Dooney bags were once posted on the Disney Store online, but they are gone now.)

:sunny:

What if you buy something early in the cruise and then decide you don't want it/it was too expensive/whatever - is everything returnable on or before the last night? I believe that I've read that the shops are closed on debarkation day so, if it is doable, returns would have to be made before the stores close.

There is also Castaway Cay merchandise that is ONLY sold on CC in those little stores. I have found that the merchandise there does sell quickly, so try to hit those earlier in the day. They will also send your purchases to the store on the ship so you can pick it up after you get back from CC.

I bought a Disney Dream ladies hoodie in the gift shop that I haven't seen online anywhere. I love it:goodvibes

I'm pretty excited about the Tervis tumblers, I've never noticed them before. Does anyone happen to have a picture of the ship and/or CC one? I did a Google search but nothing is coming up for me.

Apparently in 10 weeks I'm going to be the happy owner of 2 more Disney Tervis tumblers. :)

The ones we have has the Aquaduck on it.

There is so much stuff. We love shopping on the ships. The Dream stores are great. We can't wait to see the stores on the Fantasy today! :goodvibes

after reading everyone's replies - I think I'll have to get some gift cards for the each of the family members so they can purchase on board. My daughter is big on the pins and I'm thinking this would be her only opportunity to get unique ones. thanks for the tips.

I am not sure the gift cards will work, we gave my DD a disney rewards card where I had redemed some points from our Chase card and they would not let her use it in the shops.

One of the best things we bought there was a Precious Moments Little Mermaid holding the ship- you can't find it anywhere else

She could have gone to guest services and put the card on her account. I had over $2000 in Disney rewards dollars and I spent nearly all of it in the gift shops. But the shops cant take the card directly. Everything is posted to your room charges.

Thanks that sounds great I will do that next time... here we come Fantasy in Nov

One I got 5 yds. of Animator's Palate fabric. It was the one with all the colors. I made placemats out of the fabric for home and a special Dis board family.

If you do buy something but need to return it, can that be done?

Yes! I did it twice on our cruise last year (t-shirts didn't fit, so had to exchange for another size).

That's on the cruise ship itself though -- not sure if you can return DCL merchandise to the park and vice versa. I have returned park merchandise to a resort, though....

Which ship was that on? Ariel is my daughters favorite princess! I didn't see in on the Dream. But we did buy a piece if art work that was of Ariel and Flounder on a rock looking up at the Dream as it sailed away from the sunset!

In the past, the scrapbooking stuff has been nice. Much better quality than the scrapbooking stuff in the parks. I'm pretty picky but was really pleased with the packs and album I got onboard.

I have a beautiful DCL watch that dh got for me last time. It is very subtle but still DCL. ;) I wear it everyday. It is 3 almost 5 years old and getting a little scratched so I told dh he would be getting me another this trip! :lmao:

It was on the Wonder a couple of years ago, I saw it on the Magic about a year and 1/2 ago when we were on there

If they have it, it will be in the shop where they sell all the figures that are higher priced - I think the jewelry/ watch shop. I want to say I saw it on the Dream last year but I could be wrong they had a lot more figures for sale.
