What can you find in the ship's gift shops that you can't find anywhere else?

Is everything in the gift shop also available online or at the Parks or Disney Store? Are are there items on board that I wouldn't be able to find anywhere else?

I bought a Castaway Cay vinylmation that is not for sale on the website. I don't think they sell DCL pins online either.
They had a lot more DCL shirts and plushes on board from what I recall.

I found unique wooden picture frames w/Disney cruise etched into them...love them to this day...they frame our very 1st DC from 2003

Most of the items are DCL specific & you always have a fond memory of purchasing them onboard. I found the "sundries" like toothpaste to be quite expensive...luckily we had everything we needed. So be sure to pack what you need or stop by a store on the way to the port! :rotfl2:

Happy Cruising! :cheer2:

OMG! I went nuts. Almost everything is cruise exclusive. They just started selling some of the cruise stuff at the Disney store, but there is a ton of stuff. Ornaments, clothes, jewelry, picture frames, pins, toys, towels. Anything you want they have it. And of course the D&B purses

Tervis cups! There's a DCL one you can get on board and a CC in the shops at CC. Only 16 oz size but both are very cute and come with lids.

I saw those and almost bought them. I have regular tervis tumblers (11 of the 16oz size and 2 of the 24oz size) so I don't really need any more (we've started using them almost exclusively for hot and cold beverages) but they are cute and I am thinking that if they have them on the Magic in April (next time I sail) I will get a couple.

They are great cups.

The DCL merchandise you can find online at www.disneyshopping.com is only a small part of the stuff they sell onboard. WDW doesn not really sell DCL merchandise.

If you see something onboard buy it....chances are you won't be able to get it once you leave the ship.

Oh this is what I was afraid of, lol. I'm going to see something I love and never find it again so this is good to know. I tend not to impulse but and instead wait it out for a while. I can see that I won't be able to do that. Good to know! Thanks!

On a cruise aboard the Magic 4 years ago, I found the wooded booster seats that they use in the dining rooms for sale. The CM said that every so often, they refurbish them and sell them in the store on the ship. It has a Mickey head cut into the back but I didn't notice until I got it home but Mickey had signed the back!

I paid $25 for it and wouldn't sell it for $100! My grandson is still using it at almost 5 years old. He is just about ready to pass it down to his baby cousin.

It is a family treasure.

They also sometimes sell pieces of the mooring ropes, as they have to change those out every so often and since they can't be used for anything else they cut them up and mount them on to plaques.

We love Tervis cups....Do you remember how much they are? I'll be buying one of each for each of us I'm sure...:goodvibes

I want to say $15.

Yes this is definitely true!! Buy it while you can! Also, if something sells out while you're on board, I'd assume they can't get another shipment to replace it mid-cruise. So I think it is wise to shop early if there is something you REALLY want. I didn't have an issue with items selling out, but who knows.

(DCL Dooney and Bourke bags in particular ... they are ex-pen-sive but also popular, and they are (mostly) exclusive to the ship. A FEW of the Dream Inaugural Dooney bags were once posted on the Disney Store online, but they are gone now.)

:sunny:

I love the exclusive DCL jewelry. I bought a Tiffany style necklace several years ago, it has a solid Mickey head instead of the heart. I wear it at least 3 to 4 days a week. DH bought me another necklace on our last cruise that I love as well.

Special scrapbooking stuff/photo albums, especially if it's a new itinerary (I'm not a scrapbooker at all, but I fell in love with the Alaska items on the Wonder last year. I bought them and it actually made me start scrapbooking our photos from our trip)

There were also Alaska-specific itinerary pins that we purchased. Oh, and t-shirts.

I'm pretty excited about the Tervis tumblers, I've never noticed them before. Does anyone happen to have a picture of the ship and/or CC one? I did a Google search but nothing is coming up for me.

Apparently in 10 weeks I'm going to be the happy owner of 2 more Disney Tervis tumblers. :)
