What a lovely first night!!! I make the 'Ohana recipe bread pudding several times a year at home - it's amazing!!! But I've never actually had it at 'Ohana! It's on the to-do list though! Sounds like an amazing viewing area for Wishes! Can't wait to read more!
I should make the 'Ohana bread pudding sometime! It would be nice to be able to have it when I wasn't so stuffed from all of the food there!
That is a lot of food!! But it looks like very delicious food.
I love the dress you wore this night, it's very pretty. Sounds like it was a perfect way to spend your first honeymoon evening.
I love watching Wishes from the Poly, it's a nice way to spend the night, see the fireworks and not have to worry about the Magic Kingdom crowds.
Thank you! It was a perfect way to start the honeymoon - nice and relaxing and romantic.
The good thing about not checking the DIS for a while is that I get to read TWO great updates on your TR!
Reading about your Poly arrival really reminded me about all the great things about that resort. I think I am finally over my room experience and can go back to loving the place again!
So that singing lady is just obnoxious. When we were there in May, I couldn't help but get the impression that she thinks she's 'famous' and those kids should be honored to work with her. She was being so demanding when teaching them the dance, it was getting annoying listening to her correct them over and over when we were just trying to enjoy our dinner. I like the guy entertainer much better!
I'm glad you are finally feeling better about the Poly! I actually thought about you guys when we were checking in. I was hoping that we wouldn't end up with a dirty room like you!
I had no idea there was a man entertainer, too! I've never seen him before!
I love watching Wishes from the beach of the Poly, it's a much more relaxed atmosphere. Perfect way to end your arrival day!
I can't believe people kept thinking you were a teenager. I would've thought the wedding bands would have been a hint that you weren't a kid.
Yeah, you would have thought the rings would have given it away! I guess we should have worn our Just Married buttons, but I thought it might clash with my dress!
How rude of that singing lady to say that! I've been to 'Ohanas about 15 times and she is ALWAYS there, I never get the guy. Her voice grates on me and the way she keeps talking over and over on the microphone about the kids or whatever. We ask for a table around the side of the restaurant when we check in and we've been pretty lucky not being right next to her so the noise from the restaurant kind of drowns her out. I would love 'Ohanas even more (if that's possible ) if they would just play nice Polynesian music and have a designated area where the kids can do their things instead of all around the restaurant.
Anyways, off my soap box now, what a perfect first evening at WDW! I always love arrival day/night when you feel like you have tons of time left and are just so excited to be there .
I never even knew there was a man - we've never gotten him either, but I sure hope we do next time! I agree that they should just do nice music, or maybe even have some sort of cut-off for the "entertainment" - like from 5-8 they do the kid stuff and then the rest of the night it's a little more adult friendly.
Wow! I cannot believe how the "entertainment lady" talked to you. I can feel your pain though, I am constantly getting mistaken for a teenager. Sometimes I don't know if I should feel complimented or offended by it All things aside, I'm glad you had a nice meal at O'hanas - it's our new favorite as well!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who apparently looks younger than I am! It sounds like it happens to a lot of us. I guess that will work well for us as we age, at least!
