Now see here....I'm running this joint

So here is my idea.

I would build a sit down restaurant at Port Orleans French Quarter called Tiana's Place (princess and the frog) It would feature Cajun and Creole food with live Jazz at night. Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen and Dr. Facilier AKA the Shadowman would be featured at a character breakfast and lunch. It would give quests staying at other resorts a reason to visit this little Jewel of a place.

this is the best suggestion ever!!!! u should email disney!!!! xx

I don't think it's groundbreaking or anything, but I would LOVE a "boyish" character meal like with the characters of Cars, Toy Story, etc. (My daughter was all about Toy Story when she was younger, too, and would have opted to go to something like that before a princess meal.) Disney has really left a gap.[/QUOTE]

i agree i have 3 sons!! there is no alternative to the princess breakfast and there should be!!! xx

I'd put in the Monster's inc ride - not a roller coaster because DHS really needs something more for the whole family, and also because that particular movie scene with the doors is actually really hard to realize into a coaster. Remember, during that scene the monsters don't just ride the same door around, they jump and chase, etc. It would be far better a ride if it was done more like Forbidden Journey.

I'd put an Adventurer's Club show at AKL (like the Hoop Dee Doo or Luau)

I'd tear down Stitch and get my imagineers to come up with something that actually belongs in Tomorrowland. Preferably something that does not involve a spaceship of any kind.

Love the Tiana & Remy restaurant ideas :)

DH agrees that Backlot Tours needs to be taken down and something else needs to be done with the space.

I am with you! I have two very "girly" girls who adore everything princess, but they love the Toy Story characters, Cars, and Monsters, Inc, crew just as well! I think a Pixar character meal would be a blast!

7. A tickerish thing for bus stops, so you know approximately when the buses will arrive (this is another posters idea from another thread so sorry that I copied you.)

That is a WONDERFUL idea and wouldn't cost that much!! The busses all have digital aspects to them that clock their timing, so it shouldn't be too hard to link that to a ticker at each resort. People would be WAY less cranky if they knew exactly how long they'd be waiting :thumbsup2

I would also give every deluxe resort its own bus service. Maybe it sounds elitest, but people do pay a premium to stay at those resorts. It is beyond ridiculous that the bordwalk resorts all share busses. Or the monorail resorts.

I agree :thumbsup2 I can't tell you how many times we chose to stay at Pop or POFQ because of the deluxe busses. We  the deluxe resorts, but this year are choosing to go back to POFQ because it's not worth paying all that extra money and then having to share busses with 3-5 other resorts. The last time we stayed at the CR it took us almost 1.5 hours to get back from DTD!

Had they not closed Bonfamille's Restaurant at POFQ years ago, this would have been an extremely easy thing to do. Just change the restaurant name and add characters. I miss that restaurant! :sad1:

I would:
1) Fix the audio at Jungle Cruise and Country Bears
2) Rehab the Yeti
3) Add a Phineas and Ferb character meal at HS
4) Allow people to buy personalized bricks again, but expand to include options/ walkways at all four parks

Magic Kingdom:
I think there needs to be a Tortuga Tavern Pirate Character Meal. Seriously.
The girls have tons of opportunities to eat with the princesses, get the pirates together and have a rousing time in the tavern! Have sword play lessons, sing a longs, meet and greets. It practically writes itself. Not to mention you have a ton of guests who are always wanting to meet Captain Jack. Here's their chance. It pays for itself in months.

Someone mentioned this the other day, but there needs to be a Legend of Sleepy Hollow attraction in Liberty Square.

Epcot:
Journey Into Imagination, overhaul it fix it. Get John Lassetter and his team on it and figure a way to make it work again. Honestly, this is Disney and they can't figure out an attraction called "Imagination"? Somethings wrong there.

Wonders of Life Pavilion. I'm thinking redo this and work around something to do with Tron and how computer technology/programs are evolving. You could really get some cool attractions in there about real time tech, and heck Steve Jobs sits on the board now shouldn't he have some insight into this area?

Disney Hollywood Studios:
For goodness sake, get more Pixar attractions and expand the Star Tours areas. These are two of the biggest draws aside from Sunset Blvd. Take out BLT and really do it right with Cars Speedway, a Monsters Inc. coaster, Remy restaurant (nice restaurant to offset the lines at Brown Derby and Mama Melrose's), include Sci Fi Dine In into the Cars area as Flo's Drive In., Include the Incredibles in a 3D movie/ride experience (Spiderman in IOA) or guest encounter ala Crush.

Animal Kingdom:
Fix The Darn YETI!

Overall, improve the quality of the food and lessen the sodium content. Buy from organic produce growers. Increase the amount of the salaries of front line workers (shocker) because they are the ones who actually encounter your guests and help them.

A little more than 6 months worth of work. But, that would be my aim.

Awesome ideas!! I love all the pp's ideas of Star Wars and Pixar areas at DHS!
Sleepy Hollow attraction in Liberty Square is a great idea, too.

1. Bring back Adventurer's Club and Comedy Warehouse to DTD

2. At least diet drink made with Splenda at all food service places as well as unsweetened ice tea.

3. Lower prices for admission and annual passes.

4. At least one DRC castmember who can sign and a videophone so deaf people can easily make their reservations.

5. Themed merchandise unique to each store.

6. More benches for people who like to people watch like my husband.

7. Character meals that are not princess themed. And turn Akerhus back to a Norwegian Restaurant.

8. More castmembers trained to deal with guests with allergies to shorten wait times. And hour wait to eat is too long.

9. More vegetarian food and vegan options for people who want that.

10. Fruit available for desserts.

11. Training for castmembers on how to work with guests who are hard of hearing. The only CMs that are truly good at this are deaf or hard of hearing themselves or have deaf family members.

I like your idea! Not all little girls are interested in princesses, and of course most little boys aren't. Something more neutral would be good for someone like me, with boy/girl twins.

I don't think it's groundbreaking or anything, but I would LOVE a "boyish" character meal like with the characters of Cars, Toy Story, etc. (My daughter was all about Toy Story when she was younger, too, and would have opted to go to something like that before a princess meal.) Sorry, but I don't get this line of thinking at all. By my logic, you have the following gender neutral meals:

Crystal Palace
Chef Mickey's
Tusker House (Breakfast)
Cape May (Breakfast)
Hollywood & Vine
The Garden Grill
'Ohana (Breakfast)
Mickey's Backyard BBQ

1900 Park Fare's breakfast, in my opinion, is also fairly gender-neutral.

So the truly princess-focused meals are:
Cinderella's Royal Table
Akershus
1900 Park Fare (Dinner)

I seriously don't get this line of complaints, despite reading it all the time. Do you want a meal where girls feel actively unwelcome?

The Disney empire may have been started by a Mouse, but it was funded by a series of princesses, so the thought that their role should be hidden or diminished makes no sense to me, especially since they are a profitable franchise for the company.

Do you really think WDW is saying "we could make a lot of money with a boy-focused meal, but hey, let's not do one, just out of spite?" I agree that a Pixar-focused meal would make a lot of sense to me, but I assume they know their market research better than I do, so I assume the lack thereof means the market is not as broad as indicated here on the Dis. I highly doubt they are choosing to give up revenue just to spite the little boys out there!

As far as what I'd change--I'd love to see a couple more countries added to Epcot's World Showcase. I doubt that could be completed in six months, but it could be started...

I absolutely agree with this.

There seems to be a very negative attitude toward anything girl-centered that I just don't get.

Yes, a Pixar or Star Wars character meal would be great. But because it would be interesting in its own right.....not because there is some "score" that needs to be evened. I think if there was a thorough accounting, we might actually have to change the name of Prince Charming's Regal Carousel back to Cinderella's Golden Carousel........ and then some.

I know this is far fetched but how about "different" ways to transport folks from here to there. Like a people mover say rubber sidewalks like in airports. Not only from park to park but from parks to resorts. So many people cramming into buses. Monorails r perfect but we know with the cost that's not going to happen. People movers would be a GREAT idea somehow, shape or form.:surfweb:

I dont get where you have got this from :confused3 I think people are suggesting that ASWELL as having princessy meals, it would be nice to have a more boyish one too (yes I know there are the ones that are both girly and boyish, as listed in the first quote).....Some have even said that they have sons AND daughters so why would they want somewhere that girls feel excluded from?

Nobody is saying 'get rid of all the princess places and put boyish things in the place of these' - they are saying it would be nice to have something boyish aswell and of course girls would be welcome and would probably love it too - Im sure as many girls love Toy Story and Cars as boys do!

P.S. Im with ya A_Princess'_Daddy.....I would love to see a couple more countries in World Showcase - EPCOT is my favourite park :lovestruc

That wasn't really a comment on attitudes I've seen on this thread, but LOTS of other threads over the past year. Most of it came from the threads relating to the Fantasyland Expansion. I was amazed at the hostility directed at ANYTHING added to the parks related to the princesses.

FWIW..... if you're just looking at character meals, I have contended all along this is the one area where the "boy" interests were underrepresented in the parks. For the life of me, I can't figure out why they haven't done a Toy Story meal at DHS to replace the one at Hollywood & Vine. Heck, with a Toy Story meal, they could serve bricks for entrees and it would still sell out. Or Star Wars...... man, that would be so cool. The only thing I can figure is that it must have something to do with their licensing of those characters or something. Nothing else makes sense.

I'd also complete a walkway from the GF to the MK. It seems like they were starting it, then stopped. There's a canal there, so build a bridge. I think the Electric Water Parade comes out of that canal, so maybe they can't build a high enough bridge? Although the monorail goes over it, so just follow the monorail track w/ a walking track at that area. They could sell the bricks for it too. That would be a nice 'stroll'.

I'd start slapping solar panels on the buildings, especially the flat roofed ride buildings. I cringe every time I walk past a store with the AC blasting and the door open.

I would put all generic merchandise into the world of Disney store. Then every other store would have unique items. In Epcot, the countries could only sell things FROM their country.

I would also fix the kid's meals, they are horrible.

And this would take way more than 6 months, but why doesn't Disney have Broadway shows? I mean they have little short shows in the parks, but surely they could get enough traffic to warrant a full 3 hour show. They have Mary Poppins and the Lion King in NYC that could be duplicated easily. They had a Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid show too. I'd also like to see a dedicated ice building really themed out with the various ice shows rotating.

Wow! All of these ideas are amazing! Really would love Disney to be reading this thread!

My favs are:

Tianna restaurant at PQ
Adventurers Club Back
Pixarland or Character Meal
Star Wars Land or Character Meal

I would like to add as a DVC member I would really like a discount on the DDP since we can't get it free when booking.

Also would love another Country in the World Showcase, one with some kind of ride.

we would absolutely go see shows there! Great idea!!

I agree with just about all of the ideas!

My thoughts would be...

1. Although the vast majority of CM's are great, I am not sure what the training program is for them right now but I would have to institute a "Magic Academy" that would just focus on how to create the Magic for guests. I would also include maintenance people and anyone else who may have contact with guests, especially the grumpy street sweepers who try to run you over after Wishes! Then there would have to be a quality control mechanism put into place afterwards to weed out the folks who just don't get it and to reward the ones who do get it. If you want quality, your going to also have to pay those folks a decent wage I think. I love the idea of bringing back the Year of a million dreams programs permanently.

2. Get back to high cleanliness standards! understand it costs money, but it fosters magic!

3. I have never used the dining plan so I don't know if that is the reason that the food is so bad now with no real options. Everything is the same pretty much. Bring back choices! Oh and on a side note, even though alot of people may disagree...bring back the Mcdonalds fry station. I miss sitting down with my kids and eating an order of fries and drinking a sprite!

4. Wishes! every night.

5. Get rid of rude guests.

Ok, thats the first six months......time to go plan out the next decade or so.

Sorry, but I wasn't looking for "gender neutral meals." LOL! While DD was quite happy with princess meals and Chef Mickey's and O'Hana and Crystal Palace, my DS is more into Cars, Toy Story, Monsters Inc., Peter Pan, etc.. NONE of those are represented. While he's still a wee one, there is sadly going to be a day when Pooh or Mickey are NOT going to be where it's at for this kid of mine. :rotfl2:
1900 Park Fare's breakfast, in my opinion, is also fairly gender-neutral. Um, okay...... I don't think that's true, but whatever at this point.

Cinderella's Royal Table
Akershus
1900 Park Fare (Dinner)

Yes, how did you know? This is all an evil plot to make half of my children feel unwelcome at Disney. Darned girls gunk up the works! :lmao:

The Disney empire may have been started by a Mouse, but it was funded by a series of princesses, so the thought that their role should be hidden or diminished makes no sense to me, especially since they are a profitable franchise for the company. What???? I never said hidden or diminished. I wanted to ADD something. Sorry, "I don't get this line of thinking at alllllllll." TWELVE out of Disney's top 15 most profitable movies of all time did NOT INCLUDE A PRINCESS.
Do you really think WDW is saying "we could make a lot of money with a boy-focused meal, but hey, let's not do one, just out of spite?" Yes. I truly think there's a Disney conspiracy and that they are purposely spiting MEEEE. It's allllll about meeeeee...... :rotfl2:

Some days you just have to wonder if people are reading the Disboards with their eyes closed. :sad2:
