Now see here....I'm running this joint

Not sure if a proper redo of PI is possible in 6 months ... so I'll stick to REOPEN THE ADVENTURER'S CLUB!

This may not sound magical, but I would just enforce the rules that are already in place. And make sure the CMs know they are empowered to do so. No more people smoking while walking thru the parks. No more kids with heelies zooming around. No more people pulling their luggage around. Or filling up big gulp cups at the food court soda station.

I would also give every deluxe resort its own bus service. Maybe it sounds elitest, but people do pay a premium to stay at those resorts. It is beyond ridiculous that the bordwalk resorts all share busses. Or the monorail resorts.

I would also take out those giant cement gravestones they have put up in epcot. Take those puppies out and put the flowerbeds back in. Those cement blocks look horrible, and make getting thru the park a challenge. I'd take the hat out of the Disney Studios too.

Wow, lots of great ideas I would second. Just chiming in on the restaurants:

It is way past time for a PIXAR character meal! (Just Toy Story would be fine, but I'd love one with rotating characters from several Pixar movies.) This would appeal to "boys and girls" of ALL ages.

I would definitely eat at Tiana's Palace - that seems like an obvious thing they could/should do at POFQ.

And I'm not a vegetarian, but a veg restaurant in the Land pavilion is something I'd want to try, too.

I love the idea of a nice "Remy"/La Ratatouille-themed restaurant at DHS - Remy from Chefs de France could be moved here, and would it be too much to ask for Linguine and Colette to be on hand to greet their diners?

I would like more rides & less shops - now the shops at the end of the rides I don't mind as much.
I think the dark rides should be idea so family can ride it together but thiller rides are needed to make the news
I hate that they are taking the Snow White ride out for a M&G - why couldn't they take out Stitch instead if they had to get rid of a ride

I wonder if the World Showcase is really just shops - a few rides dealing with what the countries are about would be better than watching a film - maybe something like Sourin at one - the boat ride like in Mexico would be good for a couple of the others - maybe a Dumbo style ride (tea cups in England??) -- it seems that they had to add the kidcop to get the kids to go with their parents (the only ones that really enjoy are shoppers & drinkers -- or going just for food)

That is going to make people mad?? oh just how I feel so flame away - I just want to do something besides shop & my boys don't do sit down meals

Hollywood Studios - I felt lost the whole time I was there - we just did a few things & did them as we saw them -- maybe add maps where I could find things better
yeah I guess it should go without saying more rides - dumbo & dark style along with a couple of big rides

Pixar character meal and/or Star wars (both would be great) are needed

Animal Kingdom - I want the dragon coaster here - I think the area bewteen Africa & camp M&M would be the place to put it (not really sure what is there now - nothing on my map) that would help make a bigger circlefor getting around AK - a walk way from Africa to camp M&M along the "river" would be good (don't know if it should go into M&M maybe around on the river side to get to that bridge or into the Oasis - I wonder if the one exit is a fire trap - how long will it take to get eveyone out of the park if you had to do it in a hurry - I'm thinking bomb threat - might need to think about this for the other parks as well)

I wonder about a train that connects all of the parks or maybe just the resorts to the park in their area so a train circles AK, AK lodge/villa, All Stars, BB, then CSR - a stop at each section (have a pick up at the back of ASMu for all of the AS resorts not at each) same thing for the Epcot Area - Magic Kingdom already has the Monorail so that isn't needed there
Pop will have to deal with buses since they are so far from the rest - maybe the AK & Epcot trains could have a spot where they can interchange & pop bus can have a stop there

I think adding a few of the dumbo style ride is the only thing that could be done in the 6month time (if you don't count permit time) so most of this is just me saying & I know it won't happen

This is easysomething that we talk about every trip:

BUILD A STAR WARS RESTAURANT!!!! in DHS.

Theme it like the cantina and you can have a "band" that would play. Character interaction would be great and a big added plus for older kids who have moved beyond Pooh and Princesses. The places to eat at DHS are so lackluster I think a SW themed restaurant would be awesome!

YES YES YES YES AWESOME IDEA:worship: we would for sure go to that restaurant every trip. Oh powers that be, listen to this suggestion!

Set up a fastpass lobby system in resorts. WDW guests can print fastpasses in the morning. Even if it is only for one attraction at a time like the ones in the park, it would give you a jump on your day each morning, or after a resort break.

Add photopass machines to all "thrill" rides, like test track has.

Create a central fast pass hub in each park, where you can get a fast pass for any ride, so you don't have to run across the park each time you want to get one. Or make each fast pass machine capable of giving you a fast pass for any ride that has them.

I would put Mickey's and Minnie's Toontown houses at DTD and then add a botanical garden area around it. :hippie:

Huh. That seems really, really smart.

Too bad they're investing in creating Fastpass scheduling that you can do from home before your vacation, instead. As much as I love WDW, it seems so weird to me that it's trying to turn into a place where, should you choose to schedule a last minute vacation, you're going to have 2nd rate opportunities for dining and, potentially, rides. (In fairness, I don't know exactly what they're thinking on this, or what the mechanics would be. I just hope they don't screw up a good thing. Fastpasses are way better than other parks' alternatives.)

Huh. That seems really, really smart.

I can't take complete credit for this, I saw it mentioned on another thread a while back. I was at AK a few years ago when they tried something similar. they had 3 or 4 fastpass machines for different rides all around the Tree of Life area. I was hoping it would catch on and move to other parks, but it went away.

Oh and I agree that scheduling fast pass times from home is a bit ridiculous!

After my lame attempt at trying to schedule us there is no way I can determine 6 months out exactly what time we will ride Dumbo. After this past trip I am a firm believer in going with the flow now.

It wouldn't work because everyone would be just going straight to the Fastpass machine, when they might otherwise see that the standby line is empty and use that. The Fastpasses would be gone by 10 AM.

1) Rebuild/re-theme Tom Sawyer's Island into Pirate's Island as it has been done in Disneyland. This sounds super cool, TSI is kind of boring (to me anyway). Also a few subtle Princess and the Frog themeing effects scattered around the resort. I love the idea of really theme-ing up PO. Add gratuities and appetizers back into the DDP. I agree with this, in theory. I would love to see the option for either desert or appetizer, but would hate to see automatic gratuities added back in. Rebuild/reopen Mickey and Minnie's houses, Donald's boat, etc just as they were in Toontown over at DHS. Just...YAY!

Ok here we go:
Expansion of a Beastly Kingdom or Australia to AK. This sounds interesting, I imagine it would get more people to AK, I think a lot of people think of it as just another zoo sometimes.
Another country to Epcot. The hard question would be-which country. I'd like Australia, but rural Australia (even though it's a continent).A tickerish thing for bus stops, so you know approximately when the buses will arrive. YES! Just YES!
that

Epcot:
Turn the Odyssey into a cabana area along the windows. Private areas available for daily rentals, with A/C, view of the park, a couch, TV, fridge, takeout from any Epcot restaurant... Medium expense. This would be so easy, and it would make Disney SO. MUCH. MONEY.

OR...either of these sound a lot better than running all over the park.

Most people who are going to get a fast pass first thing in the morning will get one, whether they get it at the ride entrance or at another location. If each person is still only allowed one at a time, I don't see that it would make too much difference in fast pass availability. Another good option would be that you could see current wait times on the machines, so if you see that something has a short time, you could choose a fast pass for something else.

Oh. :sad1: Hadn't thought of that. Makes sense, though. I don't think they'd be gone by 10, but I understand why it actually probably wouldn't be in anyone's best interest to do that. I wouldn't want to get a Fastpass for Big Thunder Mountain if I ended up realizing that I could have ridden it in 15 minutes.

We visited the first week of August last year and I was, generally, surprised to see how little I had to wait overall. The only wait that reminded me of those from my youth was the standby at Toy Story Mania. Man, that was unpleasant.

I would put all the benches back around World Showcase. That would be magical for me. Also they could add a few to the MK.
And I would put up a set to bleachers on a first come basis for senior folks who cannot sit on the curb for the parades.

Each gift shop would have things unique to that shop. Too many repeats from shop to shop right now. Bring back resort specific items as well!!

Bring back the song " this is the time, this is the best time, this is the best time of our lives" to Carosel of Progress.

In DHS, I would like a ride that gave you the history of WDW. Think of a boat ride or vehicle that took you on a journey of the history of WDW and the past, present and future attractions inluding props, sounds and reasons for addtions and removal of certain rides... Gift shop would have CD of old ride music, I would love to have " If you had Wings" on CD.

I've only been to Disney once so I can't comment on what I'd change, but these ideas sound great!

I don't think it's groundbreaking or anything, but I would LOVE a "boyish" character meal like with the characters of Cars, Toy Story, etc. (My daughter was all about Toy Story when she was younger, too, and would have opted to go to something like that before a princess meal.) Disney has really left a gap.

7) I would get screen out and dismiss employees who don't understand the meaning of "the most magical place on earth", "pixie dust", "where dreams come true", "the time of your life" , etc. and do more to reward those who do get it!

8) and as on offset to #7 I would do more to have unruly, rude, drunk, plain nasty guests removed from the parks. If you're stumbling through Epcot, its time to go!

9) The magic that happened during "Year of a Million Dreams" would be an all the time kind of thing. Cast members would be able to just surprise guests with special things all the time, with anyting from multiple small extras all the time (day long fast passes, a free treat in the park, special photo op with a character, etc.) to occasional extra special ones like the stays in the castle or free family dining experience one evening.

14) Internet would be free in your room. Seriously, if Holiday Inn can offer it......

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Also, seatbacks for FOTLK and the Beauty and the Best show, too! (If I remember correctly they were all bleachers.)
We saw all 3 of those on our last trip a few weeks ago. I was 30 weeks pregnant and my back was killing me! Horrible, horrible. I really feel like I didn't enjoy the shows as much as I could have because I couldn't get comfortable.

OK, if I were in charge, the very first thing I would do would be to tear down the whole Stitch ride (not just try and change it, but just tear it right down).

I would then start work on a high-tech meet and greet area. I would use about 4 different characters as the central figures. I would use some of these:

Lilo and Stitch
Wall-E, and his robot girlfriend
Monsters Inc characters (since they already are next door)

What I would do is have 4 separate chambers where the characters would be, but instead of just normal rooms, I would have rooms with a computer background that could be changed in just a second with a scene representing that character (a bedroom, the factory, or the doors for example for the Monsters Inc characters) that each guest can pick for their picture. That way there is a possibility of about 12 different scenes that each guest could theoretically choose from. This would be a great way to make them want to come back over and over. It would be a cool alternative for younger guests to keep them occupied while their older siblings are riding Space Mountain, and best of all, it really wouldn't cost that much.

I think this would be a much better use of the space rather than what is there now (that dreaded Stitch ride).

1) Rebuild/re-theme Tom Sawyer's Island into Pirate's Island as it has been done in Disneyland. I think it turned out seriously cool in CA.

6) Get rid of the evil of Stitch's Escape in Tomorrowland. I don't care what you put there, for pete's sake ANTHING would be an improvement.

8) Rebuild/reopen Mickey and Minnie's houses, Donald's boat, etc just as they were in Toontown over at DHS. That was such a neat place for kids to explore and there was no need to destroy it. It really would fit well into the "old Hollywood" theming at DHS.

How about a Pirates meal at The Caribbean Beach resort?

And I would put up a set to bleachers on a first come basis for senior folks who cannot sit on the curb for the parades.

wow! what an easy, inexpensive idea! They could roll out smallish bleachers for many, many different areas of the whole parade route. How about that whole area in front of the castle? That could hold a huge bleacher.

I've suggested this before... I'd try to in some way do what Universal does for guests staying on-site - the alternate entrance. I realize Disney cannot do exactly what Universal does w/ the amount of resorts they have compared to the amount Universal has, but they could possibly break it up, like they do EMHs. It could be something like "on Mondays, Value resort guests can use those lanes in all 4 parks", then Tuesdays would be Moderate resort guests, Wednesdays Deluxe resorts guests, Thursdays DVC resort guests... something like that. Where all 4 parks are participating, and each category of resorts gets 2 days a week possibly. This could just be the fastpass lane. I don't think it would tie up the fast pass lanes too much, because it would be spread across the 4 parks, and only 1 category of resort guests are using it each day. So it's not like ALL the value guests will say "we have to go to MK today because it's our day there for the fastpass lane"... they could go to any park. The cm's are already there working the fastpass lane, checking fastpass times and dates. They'd simply have to check your room key too. What a GREAT perk for staying on-site. We LOVE Universal for this.

All of these ideas are great! I wish I could add something original to the mix.....but I think you guys have pretty much nailed my own requests with the return of an updated Horizons and Wonders of Life, cheaper prices, better pay for CM's, no more FREE DINING, fixing things around the parks (such as the Yeti), and more actual things to do in the WS pavillions than shop, that might (GASP!) helps us LEARN SOMETHING.....
