Here is the Challenge:

You have just been promoted to head Honcho in charge of all things Disney World. What is the one change you have always been dying to make?

A few guidelines to consider:

1. You can't break the bank. "NO BUILDING A FIFTH PARK"
2. Has to be something that can be accomplished in six months
3. It has to be Magical and or Memorable

Good Luck

So here is my idea.

I would build a sit down restaurant at Port Orleans French Quarter called Tiana's Place (princess and the frog) It would feature Cajun and Creole food with live Jazz at night. Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen and Dr. Facilier AKA the Shadowman would be featured at a character breakfast and lunch. It would give quests staying at other resorts a reason to visit this little Jewel of a place.

Done. Both magical AND memorable because no one here thought they'd live to see the day.

I would bring back the original Journey Into Imagination with the Image Works upstairs. I would also bring back Steve, who was the walk-around Dreamfinder for over 14 years. And reset the queue for the Movie theater to start inside the Image Works.

And, according to very reliable sources, the information that the original tracks and turntable were not torn out, but when they moved things they only put a false floor over them. So it would not really take any heavy construction. Just repainting and scenes redone. And almost all of the items that were in the Image Works are still there, sitting unused.

Fix Pirates to be like the one Roy built in Disneyland. Longer ride with the best restaurant in all of Disney, the Blue Bayou.

In fact, I would add all of New Orleans square in to the MK. pirate:

I'd give me, my wife and kids free admission tickets and FPs. Hardly costs a thing, but super memorable and magical - and doable in about 6 minutes.

We would love to eat there! DD loves Princess and the Frog.

I would pay Cast Members more to reward for hard work and to entice the absolute best to stay and come to Walt Disney World. And I would empower them to make more magical moments and enforce existing rules without fear of getting in trouble.

Just once a month, at each park, make an EMH park "Adults only" night. :goodvibes

GENIUS. Pure genius.

Real Wish: I'm pretty sure it couldn't be done in 6 mos. (and if it could I wouldn't want it, because it wouldn't be done well enough), but I'd really like to see them commit and build that killer Monsters Inc. hanging coaster they've been considering forever. I think that ride would be awesome, and Hollywood Studios REALLY needs it.

Wish that fits in the scope of the question: Open a really fabulous all vegetarian restaurant in The Land. For once, there would be an ENTIRE MENU TO CHOSE FROM. It's totally possible to have a really incredible and diverse all-veg menu, and it would be really educational, too. Eating meat puts a lot of stress on the environment, and even reducing meat consumption can be a step in the right direction. So I think that making it accessible and engaging to everyone could be really in keeping with Epcot's mission. Also, all of the recipes should be available to take home. :flower3:

I really think some of the ideas that have already been posted have been BRILLIANT!

Adults-only EMHs once a month? Brilliant!
Cajun restaurant featuring PATF? Brilliant!
I even think the vegetarian restaurant sounds something like I would try even though I'm not a vegetarian!
(Fixing the Yeti would be brilliant, too, but I don't see that happening ever. :rotfl:)

I don't think it's groundbreaking or anything, but I would LOVE a "boyish" character meal like with the characters of Cars, Toy Story, etc. (My daughter was all about Toy Story when she was younger, too, and would have opted to go to something like that before a princess meal.) Disney has really left a gap.

Hopefully, the new Gaston restaurant they are building as part of the Fantasyland expansion will fit this bill! :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Only if it were TRUE adults, not 18+, more like 25+.

I would go with more enticing attractions (that restaurant at PO sounds amazing) at some of the resorts, like PO so that guests would be more willing to check them out. My DH said to add that he would sign a contract to be able to sell Dr. Pepper there.

I would LOVE to eat there!!! I can just imagine lightening bugs (Ray and his family) flying all around and Louis playing the sax! I hope someone from Disney is reading this and put this idea on the table.

I'm not a vegetarian, but I still think this is a great idea. I could just see the restaurant being built into the ride too....a special stop, right after they go past the veggies growing!

1) I would make at least one floor in each hotel available to adults only with all king sized beds and if it worked out well, would do all adult wings in the Deluxe resorts.

2) I would institute a program to transition over to selling American made goods in the US Parks, only selling "made in China" products if there is no American manufacturer who can meet the need within a reasonable price range

3) I would do away with the free-dining program as I feel it has truly diminished the quality of the dining at WDW

4) I would do away with the ADR program and go back to the "day of" system where resort guests could call and reserve a seating on the same day they want to dine and non-resort guests could only do walk ups.

5) I would reopen the Adventurers Club somewhere!!!!!

6) I would reopen 20 Thousand Leagues

7) I would get screen out and dismiss employees who don't understand the meaning of "the most magical place on earth", "pixie dust", "where dreams come true", "the time of your life" , etc. and do more to reward those who do get it!

8) and as on offset to #7 I would do more to have unruly, rude, drunk, plain nasty guests removed from the parks. If you're stumbling through Epcot, its time to go!

9) The magic that happened during "Year of a Million Dreams" would be an all the time kind of thing. Cast members would be able to just surprise guests with special things all the time, with anyting from multiple small extras all the time (day long fast passes, a free treat in the park, special photo op with a character, etc.) to occasional extra special ones like the stays in the castle or free family dining experience one evening.

10) Prices would get more realistic on many many things...... No way a 6 inch cake should cost a guest $75 for a special occasion. Water and soda should NOT be that expensive. Etc.....

11) The over building around 7 Seas Lagoon would stop and the future plans would push out from MK instead of being concentrated in the area around MK starting with extension of a monorail system out to AKL and AK. I know you said no huge expenses but I really think the lack of better transportation out that way is holding WDW back in a big way!

12) Rain gear would be available without charge for riders on Kali River!!!! lol

13) "Wishes" would go off every night and so would Fantasmic.

14) Internet would be free in your room. Seriously, if Holiday Inn can offer it......

15) And on that note I will stop. There are others but I want to hear what others are saying as well and boy do I hope this is a thread the powers that be somehow hear about! :)
