Welcome, Foolish Mortals...to an October 2011 PTR! *Trip Report link is up, pg 71!!*

I'm sorry that your first anniversary wasn't like you were imagining but you still got to spend it together AND to look on the "bright" side it will be something you'll remember forever...at least!

Maybe you need to flush out your sinuses. I use a neti-pot when I'm feeling particularly congested (that could be what is making your head hurt so bad) and even though my nose may not be stuffy it is amazing how much better I feel after doing it. You can get it at walgreens for around $10.

Hope you feel better soon!!!

BTW-Are you doing the MNSSHP???

Jen, I'm so sorry you weren't feeling well for your anniversary. That's such a bummer. I'm glad you are a little better today.

The cake looks gorgeous; and I love the champagne glasses.

Hopefully you guys can make the dinner/eat the rest of the cake when you are feeling better!!

I am sorry to hear that it didn't go according to plan :sad2: but lets just think of it this way...you got sick now and got it out of the way so you will be feeling great for Disney this fall :thumbsup2 Not sure that helps at all, but it sounded good to me :rotfl:

Beautiful cake and glasses!!

Happy belated first anniversary! I'm so sorry to hear that you were sick, but it sounds like you guys tried to make the best of it. Next year will be much better! ;)

YAY! I can't wait to see which Jim Shore you got!!

HAPPY MONDAY TOO!!!!

The pics from the anniversary weekend look great even though you were sick!!!

I love those glasses :)

Happy Anniversary, sweetie... sorry it wasn't the best weekend, and I hope you're feeling MUCH better very soon!

Simply Saline works wonders for me when I have a cold - though it sounds like you have more of a touch of the flu.

On our first anniversary I was more excited than anything to finally unwrap our cake and take the ceremonial bite! Except, when we unwrapped it, we realized our bakery wrapped it up perfectly, WITH THE FLOWERS STILL ON IT. Which had completely gone to rot. :eek:It was disgusting, and I was devastated. Now, we crack up every time we think about it.:lmao:

Awww, I'm sorry you were sick on your anniversary :-( No fun! The Museum of Natural History is amazing, no matter how many times you go! We also love that you can pay whatever you want, too.

Aaw I'm sorry to hear your anniversary weekend didn't go as planned - did the cold not know to stay away for that weekend?! Seriously though I hope you are feeling better and like others have said it sure will be one you look back at and laugh! At least next year you will be at Disney World.

Try the cake again once you are able to taste it as it looks delish! popcorn:: Also I love them glasses! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: on it being 4 months to go and being 2lbs lighter!! :cheer2:

Hi there. I'm trying to check out some new TR's and PTR's as time allows. I recognized your name from posting on some of the same ones, so I thought I'd stop by and check it out. Going back to the beginning now to get caught up!

Aww honey, so sorry you haven't been feeling too good and on your Anniversary too. But it looks like you made the best of it and had a nice time at the Museum. Once you are properly better you can redo your Anniversary weekend and make that delicious meal you wanted to

Thanks! We did have a good time at the museum, but once I got on the train, I felt SO sick...ugh...I hate feeling nauseous! Colds I can handle, but once I get nauseous, forget it! :rotfl:

You poor thing! It's always the way though... get sick on one of the most important days of the year! So sorry to hear how awful you felt.

I love the champagne glasses! Did you get those in WDW? The Disney stores seem to be a let down where ever you go now. Only good ones are at WDW. Guess it gives us an excuse to go there :rotfl: I'm sure your sense of smell/taste will come back eventually. You know colds and how they linger...

LOL...I'm glad I'm not the only one this happens to! I was SO mad on Friday, when I first started feeling sick, I was so whiney, asking everyone "why did this happen to me?" I'm a huge baby when I'm sick...:rolleyes1

My friend got the champagne glasses from disneystore.com last year for my bridal shower, aren't they cute? I'm going to try to use them on every anniversary! :lovestruc

I'm so sorry your sick! I hope that you feel better soon! Hopefully by tonight so you can taste dinner!!!

On mine and my DH's 1yr anniversary (last year) we took our anniversary cake with us to dinner at Olive Garden. We went on mothers day to celebrate his bday (may 7th) mine (12th) my grandma's (10th) our anniversary (9th) and my sister who graduated college on mothers day last year. LOL We heard a HUGE crash from the kitchen only to later find out it wasnt someone elses food, but our cake!!! It had pieces of plate embedded into the frosting on the sides :( They gave us all a free meal (SO NICE since there were almost 10 of us) and DH and I were able to take home free desserts... So for our 1yr anniversary instead of eating year old freezer cake, I had tiramisu (my fave) and DH had the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake! LOL

Thanks! I just got my sense of taste and smell back today, actually...I woke up and made coffee and was like "OMG, I can smell the hazelnut!" :rotfl: I was so happy!

I can't believe Olive Garden dropped your cake! But at least you got free desserts out of it, that's awesome!

So sorry to hear that youare feeling so bad. I hope you get back to normal soon. :) It seems like we always get sick when it's important. :(

Thanks! :goodvibes I'm feeling better today...I didn't go to work, because I just don't feel up to running around yet, so I took one more day to rest. And I'm hoping this is my one big sickness of the year and this will be it for me! :yay:

Awwww, sorry to hear you're sick and your special day didn't go quite as planned. But you got to spend the day together, so that counts, right? (just trying to find the silver lining, LOL!)

Hope you're feeling better soon!

Thanks! Ugh, no, things didn't go the way we were hoping, but it was ok! :)Yesterday I kind of had a meltdown, because I started feeling worse at night and started with the "why me" whining again, but I'm doing much better today!

I'm sorry that your first anniversary wasn't like you were imagining but you still got to spend it together AND to look on the "bright" side it will be something you'll remember forever...at least!

BTW-Are you doing the MNSSHP???

Thanks! Yeah, you're right, I will definitely remember our first anniversary forever, the year I was sick!

I have been using a neti pot, actually, I love that thing! I've read you should use it once a day to prevent colds, so I'm going to start doing that every day when I get home from work, to flush out the germs! I'm going to start being better about vitamins and doing things to prevent getting sick again, I used to be a germ freak, but like I said, I got lazy about it, and now I need to go back to doing that so I never get sick!

Jen, I'm so sorry you weren't feeling well for your anniversary. That's such a bummer. I'm glad you are a little better today.

The cake looks gorgeous; and I love the champagne glasses.

Thanks! Even though I couldn't taste anything, I still ate some cake. :rolleyes1 I was just imagining how good it was! I'm glad I still have some left, now that I can taste again!

Hopefully you guys can make the dinner/eat the rest of the cake when you are feeling better!!

I am sorry to hear that it didn't go according to plan but lets just think of it this way...you got sick now and got it out of the way so you will be feeling great for Disney this fall :thumbsup2 Not sure that helps at all, but it sounded good to me :rotfl:

Beautiful cake and glasses!!

We did end up making our dinner last night, and I ate it, even though I couldn't taste much of it, just salt! :confused3 Again, I kind of just imagined how good it was, like the cake!

I'm thinking the same thing, got the big sickness of the year out of the way, so now I'm good for Disney and the rest of the year! It seems like once I start dieting and exercising I get sick for some reason...like my body is resisting the change so much and wants to prevent me from losing weight...it seriously happens every time! :rotfl: I was doing so good last week, and now I have to start all over!

Happy belated first anniversary! I'm so sorry to hear that you were sick, but it sounds like you guys tried to make the best of it. Next year will be much better! ;)

YAY! I can't wait to see which Jim Shore you got!!

Thanks! We didn't have a bad anniversary, it just wasn't what I was hoping for! :confused3 Next year will be better, I hope!

I'll put a picture of my Jim Shore on here as soon as I get it in the mail, I hope it comes soon! I'm so excited to finally have one! :woohoo:

HAPPY MONDAY TOO!!!!

The pics from the anniversary weekend look great even though you were sick!!!

I love those glasses!

Thanks! We did have a lot of fun Saturday in NY, until the train episode...I felt so stupid, crying like a baby on the train, but I can't take being nauseous!

Aren't those glasses so pretty? Love them! :lovestruc

Happy Anniversary, sweetie... sorry it wasn't the best weekend, and I hope you're feeling MUCH better very soon!

Now, we crack up every time we think about it.:lmao:

Thanks! I feel much better today, I should probably go back to work tomorrow, even though I'm dreading it!

I thought about getting nasal spray, but I've been using the neti pot, which you use a saline solution in, so I'm guessing it kind of does the same thing? I don't think I had the flu, because when I had the flu a few years ago, it was the worst sickness ever. I mean, I could not move for 2 weeks, I didn't eat, I lost 9 pounds in those 2 weeks, it was terrible, and ever since then, I've gotten a flu shot! I think I just had a really bad cold, or maybe a sinus infection. As for the throwing up...I really think it was the combination of the headache, the pizza, and the motion of the train! Luckily that only lasted that night!

Ugh, your poor cake! That's too bad you could't have any of your wedding cake, but at least you have something to laugh about now! :rotfl:

Awww, I'm sorry you were sick on your anniversary :-( No fun! The Museum of Natural History is amazing, no matter how many times you go! We also love that you can pay whatever you want, too.

Thanks, it wasn't great timing getting sick for this weekend! :rotfl: I'm just glad this sickness seems to be pretty much over, for the most part! I loved the museum, I'd like to go there when I'm healthy so I'm not dragging my way through it! I really liked the planetarium show, it reminded me of Epcot a little!

:woohoo: on it being 4 months to go and being 2lbs lighter!!

Thanks! :goodvibes LOL, I guess the germs couldn't wait a week to attack me, it figures I'd get sick! :rotfl: I am feeling a lot better today, I'm glad I can smell and taste again, I feel like a normal person again! I was beginning to think it was permanent, and I was starting to freak out!

I'm definitely having some cake today, before I go back on WW tomorrow!

Hi there. I'm trying to check out some new TR's and PTR's as time allows. I recognized your name from posting on some of the same ones, so I thought I'd stop by and check it out. Going back to the beginning now to get caught up!

Hi, :welcome:, thanks for stopping by! I will definitely check out your PTR too, glad to have you here!

I'm so sorry to hear you were sick on your anniversary! Your experience on the train sounds miserable - but I'm impressed you toughed it out as long as you did on the streets of NYC (may I also point out how jealous I am that you can take a day trip to NYC!).

Thanks! Ugh, it was pretty bad on the train, I was ready to jump out at every stop we made! :rotfl:

LOL...I'll trade places with you, I'd rather be closer to Disney World than close to NYC! I'm so done with New York, on the way to the train station, Brandon and I kept saying we're never going back there! :rotfl:

Happy late anniversary! I am sorry you're sick, hope you get better soon! How nice it must be to live on the East coast that NY is only a short train ride away. Sure I can easily cross the border to WI, but it's WI, why would I want to do that?:rotfl2:

Thanks! Ugh, I'm so tired of being sick! I was doing so much better today, only to wake up today and have my whole face feel congested, and now my ears are all clogged. :( It's always something! LOL, it's nice living so close to NY, but I'm kind of tired of it! I like Boston much better, it's just takes a little longer to get there!

There must be something fun in WI to do! :rotfl:

Happy Friday everyone! It's been such a weird week...short, because I only worked 3 days, but dragging at the same time because I can't seem to get better! Wednesday I felt ok when I went to work, like I was really almost completely fine, then Thursday I woke up and felt so strange...my whole face was totally congested, there was so much pressure in my head. My ears are completely clogged, which they weren't before. I don't have that sick, I want to stay in bed feeling anymore, I just feel so congested in my head, and I'm exhausted! :faint: Everyone is telling me it's allergies, but I'm so in denial about allergies, I'm not one of those people who have had them my whole life, so I keep thinking it's not, but I have no idea! It does feel much different than when I was sick so who knows? If this doesn't clear up over the weekend, I'm going to have to go to the dr. because I'm miserable, I HATE being sick, and it's been a week now that I haven't been feeling good! :(

Anyway, for my update this week, I thought I'd revisit my Disneymoon! It was a year ago today that we began our Disneymoon, so I thought why not look back on some of the highlights? (And I know some of you read my Disneymoon TR last year, so feel free to skip this update if you want! :)) And I promise, next week will be an actual trip update! :rotfl:

One of the amazing things about our Disneymoon was staying in the Beach Club...and getting upgraded from a standard view room to a club level room!

IMG_0819.jpg

It was SO nice, using those gold KTTW cards and having access to the lounge, the extra pixie dust made our Disneymoon even more special! :cool1:

Another thing I loved about this trip...our first time at Crystal Palace, pictures on an empty Main Street, and wearing my Minnie bride ears!

IMG_0843.jpg

I also loved the time of year we went! We got to see the Flower and Garden festival for the first time!

IMG_1016.jpg

It was a little hotter than we expected, but it was nice to be in WDW in the Spring, instead of the Fall like we were used to!

I know I mentioned staying at the Beach Club already, but aside from the club level room, another thing I loved about BC was the location of this resort!

IMG_1078.jpg

Right next door to Epcot! :lovestruc It was nice to catch Illuminations one night and then walk back to the resort and sit on the beach for a little while! I hope to stay in this area again, since Epcot is my favorite park!

One of my favorite character meetings happened on this trip, when we met Thumper and Miss Bunny!

IMG_1098.jpg

The bunnies and their CM were so amazing, they spent so much time with us, they took so many pictures, it was so much fun! And to think, we almost skipped Animal Kingdom on this trip, since it was so short! :scared1:

We usually spend our last Disney night at Epcot, but on our Disneymoon, we switched it up a little and ended our trip at DHS, since they had magic hours that night!

IMG_1147.jpg

We ended up riding Tower of Terror over and over until the park closed, which is probably my favorite thing to do in all of Disney World!

I also love all the cute extra things they do for you when you are celebrating...I'm not one to draw attention to myself, I don't like being the center of attention...but it's ok on your Disneymoon!

IMG_0921.jpg

IMG_0212.jpg

I loved wearing my Just Married pin, it was nice having people ask about our wedding, say congratulations, sprinkle confetti on our tables when we were having dinner...just really nice, extra little things that we weren't expecting, that made our Disneymoon a lot different than just a normal Disney trip!

And a bonus highlight of this trip...ducklings!!! :cutie:

IMG_0883.jpg

I don't know about you guys, but to me, there isn't anything much cuter than a baby duck! :lovestruc Every time we saw ducklings, we had to stop and talk to them, take pictures, and just watch them be SO cute! I loved how they had ramps for them to get in and out of the water!

And that's our Disneymoon! The highlights, anyway! The whole trip was fantastic, but these are the things that stuck out to me! I would love to go back in May, that's why I'm HOPING for an anniversary trip next year, but who knows if it will actually happen! :confused3

It's hard to believe a year ago, I was probably getting ready to have dinner at Le Cellier! Makes me wish I was in Disney World right now! :sad1: I don't know how I'm going to get through the next almost 5 months! I hate rushing time, wanting it to go by so quickly but...I just love WDW so much, and I want to be there right now!

Have a great night everyone! And yes, I will do an actual trip update next week! :cool1:

Congrats on the one year!! I thought for sure my BFF would be upgraded for her Disneymoon at AKL. They were already staying Club Level but their view was of the tops of buildings..I thought for sure their room location would have been upgraded but sadly not and that was late Sept when you know they aren't busy!!!

Anyways..it's great you got upgraded!!!!!! I loved CL at YC!!! We'll see has Poly stacks up to it haha.

Awww what a great honeymoon!! It must have been great to get that upgrade :goodvibes The picture with the bunnies is way too cute for words!!

Jen, that picture with Thumper and Miss Bunny and the two of you is absolutely precious...I love how they did that.

What a nice remembrance; thank you for sharing.
