Welcome, Foolish Mortals...to an October 2011 PTR! *Trip Report link is up, pg 71!!*

Thanks! You're the 2nd person to tell me to make sure I have my return ticket...why is that? Do they think you're illegally moving to Florida if you have a one way ticket or something? Weird! I mean, why would anyone at the airport care? :confused3 :rotfl2:

I'm SO happy to be going to a park on my final day! :woohoo: This will be totally new for us, I'm wondering how it's going to work out!

It's basically who's in a good/bad mood from TSA that given day.:lmao: As I think it's already been said, it's more international flights, but they sometimes want to know why you are only buying a one way ticket. (ie: something that terrorists are likely to do) I only say have it with you just in case. There is a possibility they would bring it up because you are going to a resort destination, which along with certain cities probably has higher security. :)

I think the whole one-way ticket thing is a bigger issue if you're flying internationally. Coming from Canada, Homeland Security will always look out for that. Granted I have never been asked about it but I am prepared in the event that they do. It's not like they will stop you even if you were traveling on a one way ticket. They'd just give you a harder time that's all. I didn't mean to scare you

Ohhh, ok, that makes sense! Well, it won't be a problem, because I always have all of my travel documents in my carryon, and I make copies so if they need to see my Jet Blue ticket, they can see it! :rotfl: LOL, don't worry, you didn't scare me! :goodvibes I just didn't really understand why they'd care if I was flying one way or not, but now I get it! :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Thanks! Ugh...I didn't even think of the dreaded "T" word. :sad2: I suppose it makes sense, and hey, if they want to be super careful, and see my return ticket, I'm all for it!

I wouldn't worry about booking two different airlines, I am sure lots of people do the same thing :) Glad you are all sorted though, the flights are just the worse when it comes to vacation planning.

Hopping aboard your PTR!!!! I lurked through your Nov TR, and decided to be a part of this PTR :) LOL All your plans sound great so far! I am a plan changer, but my DH who is in charge of all Disney planning, changes our plans non-stop!!! It's not a trip if plans don't change atleast a few time right ;)

I don't think you'll have any problems using two different airlines (assuming you don't forget where to go ) I mean, I can't see why it would really make any difference. And you got some great times! With the early flight in and late flight out, it's like bonus Disney time!

Also, I'm a little behind and wanted to say that WL looks awesome and I can't wait to stay there some day! I'm sure you'll be happy (and less stressed) about your decision. Oh, and your shirts are so cute! I really like the Lady & the Tramp one,

Finally, have you ever told the story about how your DH proposed at WL? I'd love to read it!

Thanks! I'm not too worried, I would hope it will be fine, if not, what's the worst that happens, we get stuck in Disney World an extra day or two? I'm glad I have the flights bought and paid for already, I can't stand stressing about airline prices!

:welcome: Thanks for de-lurking! :rotfl: I try not to change plans, but it always seems to happen! That's what happens when you plan for a vacation for months, you always find a way to make it better!

LOL, I hope I don't forget where I'm supposed to be! It should be pretty easy to remember, because I know I get to watch TV on the flight home, so that means Jet Blue! :rotfl:

I'm so excited about WL, I cannot wait to walk through the doors into that amazing lobby again! :lovestruc I love Disney tees, they're all so adorable!

Hmmm...there's not much of a story, with my DH proposing at WL, I'm not sure if I ever really told what happened...but maybe I can do that this weekend, since it will be our 1 year anniversary on Sunday! :thumbsup2

The first week of October shouldn't be too hot.

Zumba classes are fun but you're right, they are so expensive. One of my twitter friends told me you can find Zumba DVDs on Amazon. Also, I think the Wii (or Xbox kinect?) have a Zumba game.

cute shirts, I really like the Lady and the Tramp one.

oh exciting, your one year anniversary is today...

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!

Thanks, I hope the first week of October isn't too bad...but it will be nice to be in warm weather, since it will probably be cooling down in CT by then!

I will have to see if I can find a Zumba game for the Wii, that sounds like fun! I walked by a Zumba studio yesterday, a new one that just opened, and classes were $49 a month! I think that's crazy, you can join a gym for $10 a month!

HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY - hope you both have a great day/weekend together!! :dance3:

Happy Anniversary you guys :goodvibes  :yay:

Happy anniversary! :grouphug:

Happy Anniversary!

Hope you had a nice anniversary! :lovestruc

Happy Anniversary Jen and Brandon. Hope you had a great day.

Thank you everyone, for the anniversary wishes! :lovestruc I'm going to be doing an update about our anniversary weekend, which didn't exactly turn out the way I planned. :(

Happy Anniversary to me

Hi everyone! I feel like it's been so long since I've done an update or been on the DIS, even though it's been like 2 days!

I wanted to share our 1 year anniversary weekend with you guys, but first, before I get to that, I wanted to point out that my ticker says 4 months :dance3:!! I get so excited when tickers change months...I know it's 4 months and 4 weeks, but it's nice not seeing it say 5 months anymore!

And...I lost 2 pounds this week! I'll be honest, I was hoping for a little more, but doing WW is still taking some getting used to...there will be times that I will eat more than a portion, or just conveniently forget to write down the points of something I ate :rolleyes1. It's hard, going from eating whatever, to paying attention to every little thing I eat. But it's going well and I'm losing, which is all I care about!

Ok, so our anniversary. Originally, we planned to go to Boston for the weekend. We both took Monday off (which is why I'm updating on a Monday morning and not in work) and we were going to have a fun couple of days in Boston. Then we changed it to one night in Boston. Then we were just going to spend the day there, instead of wasting money on a hotel.

Friday I get home from work, and I just wasn't feeling right. Everyone at work is sick, and I usually am pretty good about taking vitamin C and washing my hands, but I've gotten lazy with it lately. So I guess I caught someone's cold. I was so upset, I was texting Brandon all night about how the weekend would be ruined.

Saturday I woke up and felt worse, and I told Brandon there was no way I could walk around Boston all day, and it's pointless to go. I felt bad, so I suggested we could go to New York City to go to the Museum of Natural History instead, since NY is much closer, and we would only be going for that one thing, instead of walking around all day. So we took the train in and went to the museum.

The museum was fun, we did the planetarium show, and then looked at all the exhibits, my favorite part was the dinosaurs:

Before we went home, I wanted to check out the new Disney store in Times Square, so we stopped there. It was cute, but kind of disappointing. I'm used to the huge World of Disney store they used to have on Fifth Ave, and this was just a regular old Disney Store, with lots of NY merchandise. I do like how it is decorated:

Haha, I love how Brandon is wearing his Donald Duck tee shirt in the Disney Store!

I was tempted to buy a Vinylmation, because they had tons of them there, but I didn't know what I would do with it if I didn't like it! :confused3 I actually walked out of a Disney Store without buying anything, I couldn't believe it!

We went back to the train station and had some time to kill, so we got some pizza while we waited, and I think that might have been a bad choice for me. I already had a bad headache from my cold, which seemed like it was turning into a migraine, and I was ready to go home and crawl in bed. Once we got on the train, I felt so terrible...I felt like I was really sick, like when I had the flu, and I started to panic, thinking I had something seriously wrong with me. My head was pounding, I thought I was going to throw up on the train, and I actually started crying at one point. :sad2:

Finally, after the longest train ride ever, we were home, where I spent the entire night throwing up. I couldn't keep anything down, not even ginger ale. Brandon bought me some NyQuil so I chugged it and finally passed out, thinking I would wake up even more sick, on our actual anniversary.

Yesterday I woke up, and I was fine. Well, not fine, I still had a cold, but I wasn't nauseous anymore and didn't feel like I was on my death bed. So I'm guessing that pizza I ate just didn't agree with me and the migraine I was getting, unless maybe I had some freak stomach bug! Whatever it was, I'm glad it's over!

Of course, there's still my cold...I felt ok yesterday, so Brandon and I went out, bought all this food to make this fantastic dinner, we picked up the cake I ordered and planned to have a nice, relaxing day. Then I get home and realize I can't taste or smell anything.:scared1: It seems to happen whenever I get sick, no matter what, which is why I hate being sick so much. I was so upset, we spent so much money on stuff to make for dinner, we had our cake...and it would all be wasted since I couldn't taste it.

I tried to make the best of it. I took out our Cinderella champagne glasses and we used those with dinner

and instead of having our dinner that we planned, I had chicken noodle soup and Brandon had mac and cheese! I thought maybe we could save it for tonight, because maybe my senses would come back!

I couldn't resist having a piece of cake, though, even though I could barely taste it, I imagined what it tasted like:

IMG_2567.jpg

It's the same kind of cake we had for our wedding, a marble cake with chocolate mousse filling and whipped cream frosting. :lovestruc I really couldn't taste much of it...just the sweetness from the frosting, but not actual flavor. So weird.

So that's our 1 year anniversary. I looked forward to it for weeks and it ended up not so great. :confused3 It could have been worse, I guess, but I just can't believe I got sick the day before we were supposed to do everything. :sad2: I did say something to Brandon yesterday, about how our next anniversary will be better because we'll be in Disney! :rotfl: I'm in a panic now, about our October trip, thinking I'll get sick before we leave and our trip will be ruined. I know it's months away, but I'm freaking out!

Oh yes, we did get each other presents, but I didn't take pictures...I got Brandon a pair of slippers from LL Bean and he got me a Jim Shore Disney figurine (which I don't actually have yet, since he only ordered it a few days ago!)

And I still can't smell or taste anything...and my nose isn't really too stuffed up anymore, which doesn't make sense! I hope I'm not permanently like this! I'm glad I'm off from work today, because I probably would have ended up calling out!

Ok, I have to go get caught up on everyone's PTR's/TR's! Have a great Monday! :cool1:

Aww honey, so sorry you haven't been feeling too good and on your Anniversary too. But it looks like you made the best of it and had a nice time at the Museum. Once you are properly better you can redo your Anniversary weekend and make that delicious meal you wanted to

You poor thing! It's always the way though... get sick on one of the most important days of the year! So sorry to hear how awful you felt.

I love the champagne glasses! Did you get those in WDW? The Disney stores seem to be a let down where ever you go now. Only good ones are at WDW. Guess it gives us an excuse to go there :rotfl: I'm sure your sense of smell/taste will come back eventually. You know colds and how they linger...

I'm so sorry your sick! I hope that you feel better soon! Hopefully by tonight so you can taste dinner!!!

On mine and my DH's 1yr anniversary (last year) we took our anniversary cake with us to dinner at Olive Garden. We went on mothers day to celebrate his bday (may 7th) mine (12th) my grandma's (10th) our anniversary (9th) and my sister who graduated college on mothers day last year. LOL We heard a HUGE crash from the kitchen only to later find out it wasnt someone elses food, but our cake!!! It had pieces of plate embedded into the frosting on the sides :( They gave us all a free meal (SO NICE since there were almost 10 of us) and DH and I were able to take home free desserts... So for our 1yr anniversary instead of eating year old freezer cake, I had tiramisu (my fave) and DH had the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake! LOL

So sorry to hear that youare feeling so bad. I hope you get back to normal soon. :) It seems like we always get sick when it's important. :(

Awwww, sorry to hear you're sick and your special day didn't go quite as planned. But you got to spend the day together, so that counts, right? (just trying to find the silver lining, LOL!)

Hope you're feeling better soon!
