DREAMS really do come true! 1/30 4-day Cruise Report with Tons of Photos! Video done!

I love all your pictures and report. Thanks for taking so much time to post them all!

Can you tell me where on the ship a couple things are located? Waves, Currents bar, the sports deck (is it front or back)? Is the basketball court really smaller than the Magic/Wonder's?

And that odd little seating area in your Lower Decks part 1 pictures - 6th picture down. What is that supposed to be and where is it?

thanks

And I'll repeat myself: Amazing Pics! I can't get over how gorgeous that ship looks when all the people aren't there to muck up the view ;) I would love to get up and stroll around here early. But that boat has a sedative effect on me and DH -- wake later, nap often. It's like I'm on Benadryl.

Which reminds me -- how was the motion of the ship? I don't usually have any probs, in part b/c I wear a patch. But that first night on the classic ships can be a doozy regardless of the patch, even with relatively steady seas. And on our last trip, they must have turned off the stabilizers in the middle of the night, b/c we woke up to it rocking and creaking like crazy as she went over the gulf stream. I am thinking of risking Palo on the first night, but don't want to if the Dream rocks as much as the Wonder/Magic does. Any thoughts?

Thanks again!

Thank you so much for posting all of your great pictures! I have been looking all over the DCL threads for pictures of merchandise on the ships.

Cass, sorry - another question...:rolleyes1

On the aqua duck - when you go over the "joins" on the tube in your little boat, can you feel it?

I dont want my "dodgy" back seizing on me if its bump bump bump all the way down as I'll be laid up in bed for the rest of the week!

Yeah, me too. Bad back but I'm still doing the Duck!

What concerns me is how much of it is totally enclosed. I hadn't really thought about that. I've been so excited about it until it dawned on me how freaked out I was having an MRI a few years ago. Could NOT stay in that tunnel:eek:
Freaked out and left before they could finish, crying.

So, I'd like to hear from anyone who is mildily claustrophobic how bad it was.
I've done other water slides before, but with some open sides and they weren't quite as long as this, but I've never had a problem before.
Just wondering.

Hmmmmmm.....

I wonder if we walk on our knees and pretend to be kids :rolleyes1 maybe we could play in the club/lab too?!!!! :rotfl:

Also, hubby is already picking out what he wants to buy from the shops on our cruise! Thank you for the great pics :)

Yeah! I want to go to all those kids clubs too!:yay:

Remember that the tube is clear and it is open in a few places and it is over in 1 minute!

You will have so much fun it will be over before you realize it!

Rose, it would be like going on Crushing Gusher in Typhoon Lagoon if you've ever been there. It is over fairly quick and as the other poster said, it is a clear tube for the most part. I think you'll be fine.

I'm shocked at how empty it is both at the bar and the seating in the shallow area. Not sure if it was because of the time of day, but still seems pretty empty.

That will make a great location for a lot of impromptu meets in the afternoon, kinda like the ones we had almost daily back in Oct 2009. Nothing better than just running into people and stopping to have a drink and catch up on the day or the cruise. :thumbsup2

Waves is located in the aft section on deck 11, just down below the Sports deck area. I thought it was a weird place to have it, not much traffic there at all. Currents Bar is located forward on deck 12, above the adult pool.

Sports Deck is very secluded from other stuff...deck 13 aft and I'm not 100% sure because I have never physically been on either court, but it does seem smaller

That odd seating area is located on deck 4 aft, just outside of the adult clubs/bars. There is an entrance to it from inside as well as from outside. I thought it was a little weird but very cool! I never actually saw anyone use it but I didn't spend a lot of time at the District.

Thank you! My quest to have this shirt now begins!

Good luck :thumbsup2 :goodvibes

Wow! Awesome pictures! :goodvibes

Thanks Michelle! :goodvibes

Now I am definitely going to bring an empty suitcase for everything I wanna buy in the gift shops!!!!! :scared1::woohoo::thumbsup2

LOL, yeah...there's definitely more stuff to buy on this ship :rolleyes1:rotfl2:

I feel the same way on the Magic, always want to nap and I get the BEST sleep too!

I was going to mention this in the general thoughts area but I totally forgot!

Perhaps it was because we only went to the Bahamas (and not the Caribbean like I am used to) but I hardly felt the ship move at all!!! Seriously, I think there were 3 or 4 instances where I felt it and then thought...oh yeah....why aren't I feeling any motion like I normally do???!!!! :lmao:

I kind of missed the rocking and rolling (thrill junkie!) but I guess it's nice for the people who don't like it ;) I thought because of the bigger size, the motion would be exaggerated but most of the time (95%) I couldn't even tell I was on a ship!

I'm sure it will be different on the Fantasy with the longer voyages :goodvibes

tremendous report!

Glad I could help you out with that ;)

You guys are gonna LOVE it!! They did a great job with the adult pool bar and the other adults clubs/lounges!! ::yes:: They also have awesome comfy seats behind that bar :thumbsup2

I don't think you will have to worry about that Rose. While I am not claustrophobic, I've had a few MRI's and it is not comfortable being that closed in! The AD goes by so fast and you will be having way too much fun to even notice!! Plus it is open at 2 parts :thumbsup2 You can't even compare the two experiences :goodvibes

What time of day was that pic taken Cass? Was that the norm for the number of people there? Thx.

The Vibe Part 1

The Vibe is such an awesome place for teens, it made me want to be a teenager again for the week! Well, sort of.

I LOVE how it is practically hidden and is hard to find!

Here's some pics...

Let's start with a pictorial explanation on how the heck to find it :lmao:

Go to deck 4, outside and head forward....

So you DON'T enter it from Deck 5. That's actually good news. I was looking at booking an 8A room on Deck 5 for the split room and was concerned there would be teens up and down the halls there all night long.

How do they handle anyone needing an accessable entrance though? Do they possibly come in on Deck 5 through an emergency door?
