Welcome To The Caribbean, Love ~ Updated 5-27 P52

Congratulations!!!! Keep us all posted!

Our house was on the market for about 3 years. It was new construction, on the bigger side, not a THING wrong with it. THREE STINKIN' YEARS! Our old little town is a bit of a dying town with shops closing up/industries moving, etc. so that is the problem. Plus no big towns nearby. The market right now is so unpredictable. Hopefully the only reason this house was on the market for two years is because it's supposed to be YOURS! :thumbsup2

Congratulations on the house!! I am looking forward to the decorating and renovation stories... how fun!!

Oh, I'm sure there will be plenty of stories! :lmao:

You're right, this is a totally unpredictable market that happened to work in our favor.

Actually, I do know a little history about why the house sat for so long. They had two previous offers, contingent upon those buyers selling their homes, and both fell through because they weren't able to. So between waiting on those closing dates, I have a feeling that's how the sellers have hit the almost two year mark.

Wow, I just found your PTR and read all the way through. What a journey! I'm so glad you're finding peace in moving forward. My mom has joined us on 3 out of our 4 family Disney trips and is coming along in March, and she is so much a part of our Disney memories that I can't even imagine having the strength to plan the sort of trip you're planning now.

I love that you're so laid back about everything! I relax a little more with each trip but I'm still pretty commando and I really wish we'd have left ourselves more time to enjoy CBR since with our 3rd child turning 3 in July we might never stay there again. The pirate pool is just so much fun that it really deserves more time than just a quick dip at the end of a long park day.

Congrats on the house too! That is so exciting, I remember buying our first house and how happy I was not to have my now 9yo's crib in my bedroom any more. That was just the best thing ever, to have our room back to being an adult sanctuary. Sending good vibes for the inspection! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yay yay yay!!!! Congratulations on the house! So very exciting!
:dance3:

I am so happy for you! :goodvibes

Thank you, hon! :goodvibes

All in one sitting? Bless you! :lmao:

Isn't it wonderful that you can share it with your mom like that? My mom was so about Disney, and family, and time together...and sometimes we'd drive each other nuts on vacation, but in the end we'd always have a great time. :thumbsup2

I think part of my laid back is a whole life thing now. I just don't really stress about stuff anymore. I've learned the hard way that life is too short.

For example, this week I've got a home inspection on Thursday, if all goes well, meeting with the mortgage broker on Friday or Saturday, my sister and husband are coming in to town and taking Nemo skiing for the first time on Saturday, and Squirt's baptism is Sunday.

Normally, that would throw me into a tizzy. Now, I've learned that's just life. It's a ride and you go with it. :thumbsup2

Yay! Someone else who knows how I feel about that whole bedroom thing!!!

You know what the hardest part is? Deciding how to decorate!!! :lmao:

Agreed. We've been in our current house for 1.75 years now and I STILL haven't decided how to decorate!

You know, the thing about apartment life is that you get so used to having white walls. Now that I'm allowed to have whatever color I want, the possibilities are endless!!! :lmao:

You're having a chat about finances. And you turn to him and say, "Honey? If we buy the house, do you really think we should go to Disney in May?"

And he turns to you, looks you dead in the eye, and rather forcefully says, "Yes."

Well, then. :lmao:

I think it can pretty much be agreed that we need this vacation. And I hate to use the word need when describing something that's really not a "necessity" but honestly, we need this vacation. It's time. And it's about needing to get away for a bit, partake in some of that Disney magic, and honor my mom all at the same time.

Quite frankly, I think she's looking down on me and saying, what on earth is taking you so long? :rotfl2:

Let me tell you, though.

I know we need to go back to Disney World.

How do I know this? Besides the fact that I've started talking about it every time I see Nana? The fact that when I'm running in the morning and need to dig deep to do that last few minutes of my training, I think to myself as a sort of mantra, "Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow, Jack Sparrow."

No, it's really even simpler than that.

I'm down to my last bar of soap from Basin.

And, I'm running out of my favorite moisturizing lotion ever, from the Grand Floridian Spa which has a citrus smell that cannot be recreated and no matter how cold, and let me tell you, we were in the negative temps today, it is outside, can always transport me right back to Florida.

That's how I know it's time to go back.

Because I need to stock up on toiletries. ;)

:rotfl:

JSP rocks.

Thank you!
Jen, I couldn't have put it better myself. This is going to be one of my new quotes. There's no time in life to be negative, you're so right!

:goodvibes

Negativity and negative people suck the life out of everything. I stay away from negative people. Unfortunately, I work with a couple of negative people. I wonder everyday how someone can have such a poor attitude in a building surrounded by children. :confused3

What is this lotion you speak of? Sounds wonderful!

I completely agree...you NEED this trip! I am glad your DH has the good sense to see it too.

My DH and I are firm believers in the need to travel. It is a huge part of our lives and our lives would be lacking without it!

Gotta love Disney.....Smart enough to give us even the simplest excuse to visit - soap and other assorted toiletries!

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2: Yes, when the toiletries run low it is time to head back and restock. I am guarding my last bar of soap from Basin, so I don't run out before May! :lmao:

Love your DH's "yes" comment! :thumbsup2

I worked with someone like this, and I just couldn't understand how you could be so negative so consistently. I try to keep that out of my life as well. Honestly, I just don't have the energy for it and if I feel myself going down that road, I take a step back and reevaluate.

In the spa at the Grand Flo, they have a signature scent, which is not part of whatever spa line they're promoting at the time, but the GF's own spa scent. It's a wonderful citrus smell, and it comes in shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer...not sure what else, but needless to say I love it!

Santa always brought it in my stocking every year. ;)

I'm glad too.

I remember how much you like to travel, and was reading all your plans on your ptr the other day and thought wow!!! It's all about priorities, and if that is something you enjoy, I say go for it! And think of all the experiences you'll be giving your daughter, it's just wonderful.

I love that we have the same reason for going back--I am down to my last bar of Basin soap!

:lmao:

Darn tootin. :thumbsup2

I just got this visual of you, standing in front of the soap, telling the family, Noooooooooooooo! :rotfl2:

Sounds like your DH and myself would get along nicely! :lmao:

I wouldn't know anything about Basin soap.... but I know you need to get back. How is the house coming along?:confused3

Okay...I'm back from seeking help on my PTR.

I love your husband's response and with "force" too. :thumbsup2

And I can't think of any better reason to HAVE to go back to Disney so that one can get to the Basin store and get lotion from the GF (although I can get those products at one of our local stores...it just isn't the same).

And if someone or myself was saying JACK SPARROW, I'd be pushing myself too.

Home inspection is scheduled for Thursday. Repeat after me, "it will go well." :rotfl2:

Okay...I'm back from seeking help on my PTR.

Shoot! I keep meaning to get over there!

One could almost say he used "the" force. :yoda:

Yes. Must be purchased in that location while smelling Florida air.

And if someone or myself was saying JACK SPARROW, I'd be pushing myself too.

This is literally how I made it through the last few minutes of my workout on Monday. :lmao:

I am so glad that MJS said yes with force. You need a vacation and time to just get away with your boys and your Nana. :goodvibes I can not wait to get to Basin and pick up some of that wonderful stuff. Even my dh is excited about that as he loved Basin the one time we have been (at the Mall of America). I am going to swing by the GF Spa to see about that wonderful scent you are talking about. It sounds like a great scent to use to remind me of our trip.
