The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Connor and I were very excited to read about C3PO being the new pilot!!! We definitely will need to get there to experience the new Star Tours!

Pictures with Bo are the best!!!

Hmmm...wonder if I can find a Pilgrim hat or Indian headdress for Bo so he can wish Chelsea a Happy Thanksgiving?:laughing:

After finishing the "thrill "portion of my day at DHS, I still had time to wait until I could use my FP for TSM.

So I wandered back down Sunset Blvd.As I get to end of the block, I cut through the Sweet shop.

Thinking of my DS who loves this stuff.

Well, thinking of how much I like these.

Back down by Pixar Place.

Another garbage can but this one comes with a story. Years ago, my Dad pointed to a garbage can in WDW and laughed. I had no idea what was so funny. You see, my Dad is from Bolivia, "off the boat " as I like to say so English was not his first language. He has an accent but other than that his English is very fluent. In any case, I guess sometimes English just makes him giggle. After I can't seem to grasp the joke he asks me to read the garbage can.
Waste please. He wonders why the garbage can would be encouraging people to waste. As in Waste, please waste.

Another favorite of Dad's was Chock-full-o-nuts ad, Use less as in coffee. My Dad always thought the ad was calling the coffee useless.
I believe a similar line was used in a movie. Please don't.... stop... please don't .... stop.

Okay, so whether you get the joke, understand the joke, or even part of the population that finds it funny, every time I see a garbage can with that on it I think of my dad.

Luxor Jr was out today

I wandered by the Splash fountain.

172DHSSplashFountainplaque.jpg

Caught a glimpse of this guy. Not sure If I realized it would be the last time I would see Power Rangers in the park.
173DHSgreenpowerranger.jpg

Next up, more wandering but this time with purpose.

Great post. :goodvibes
You catch all kinds of things I never would know to look for.
How did you learn so much about the different things in the parks?
Read it in a book, or just picked it up along the way?

I really like seeing the parks through your eyes.
Yes, I realize I'm up at the crack of dawn. Well, rather the crack before the crack of dawn, can't sleep....coughing again and didn't want to keep the dh up.
Hope you have a wonderfully blessed day. :)

Brooklynn loves this, too. :)

My next door teacher pal and her family are finally going to Disney World next summer. One of the highest things on her grandson's list of things to do was to see the Power Rangers. They were originally planning to go last year, but that same grandson was getting a little sister instead. I guess he'll be able to blame his little sister for the rest of her life for him missing out on meeting them in person. :upsidedow

Some of it I have seen in other peoples TR's, some from books or other sites. I stumbled down ( not a rabbit hole) a path by PoC that I had not seen before. There is a bathroom back there I never knew existed. That and a secret passage way. I thought it might be a CM only place but a CM popped out he told me it was no secret or CM only path, just another way to get from the ride loading or unloading area.

I hope you are finally sleeping better.

Love the story about your dad and the Disney World trash can! :goodvibes
Thanks- They met us down there years ago when the kids were little, but it seems like only now the memories of my childhood come back when I visit. Maybe it was the parade that did it. ;)

they are getting rid of the power rangesr?

Yes...they're gone now.

The power rangers have ended their meet and greets. I know I read it somewhee but cannot find the info on allears.

Brooklynn loves this, too. :)

:sad2: Oh that is so sad. Hopefully his love of the power rangers has waned a bit and he will forget? :confused3 :rolleyes1

When I left off I was wandering aimlessly. I guess I still had some time left before I could use my TSM fastpass. According to pictures it was about 10:30 am.

I found myself on the Streets.
174DHSpizzaplNYstreet.jpg

Not really in the mood for pizza but maybe later.
176DHSPizzaonNYstreet.jpg

Love the detail even on the fire escapes.

179DHSMAilbox.jpg

I duck down a side street and magically transport myself to San Francisco.
I am in the right place. I pay homage to the Diser Jordanyosh.
182DHSChineselaundry.jpg

The down side to being alone was I could not find anyone around to take a picture of me in front of the store.:sad2: i would have to fix that someday. :rolleyes1

I thought this was funny.

184DHSphonebooth.jpg

Phone booths are now so outdated that they are being used for planters?

187DHSstreet2.jpg

The ropes were up due to the Osbourne lights already being put up.

With part of the goal satisfied I pushed forward.

The exit
192DHSMuppetexit.jpg

This is in the alley between the exit and the entrance to the Muppets. Another clever way to keep you just looking down the street. You can get through but it does not ruin the illusion of the area.

I always think this is more of a Charlie Brown Tree.
202DHSchristmastree.jpg

More Pizza- Did I wander into Little Italy ? ;)
203DHSPP.jpg

Well now, here I am with time to kill. Where do I go?

I found myself wondering what these guys were up to.
207DHSWaldorfastoriasign.jpg

Let's go in !!!

209DHSMuppetanimaldustpan.jpg

I enjoy the show with all the Muppets have to offer, corny jokes and all.

I made it back to Pixar Place to check to see if there were passes still available and ...
213DHSFPTSMgoneby1154.jpg

It was 11:11am people!!!!. I think the only time I have seen FP available after noon was in September.

Getting close to lunch time and I am looking for something to eat. I wander back through the streets and see these guys jamming out. I am glad they have made a stage for these guys to perform on.
215DHSMulchSweatShears.jpg

I have never found a suitable counter service meal I liked and today was no different.
I stopped here.
218.jpg

Unable to branch out and try something new I opt for the old standby.
218DHSFoodfrombacklotexpress.jpg

The cheeseburger or double I can't tell and fries.
Honestly I like a good burger but this was no good burger. I do not think I even came close to finishing it. Then I had the feeling that that my fullness was going to be shortlived. :scared:

The best thing about his meal was the show going on nearby.
220DHSStarWarsjeditraining.jpg

After lunch I send my son a picture text of this
222DHSStartourssenttochris.jpg

He is a fan of Star Wars, well really anything science fiction.

I stopped to say hello to Walt.

226DHSAcademysign.jpg

I cross back across the Plaza and head back to Pixar place. It was time, finally for me to get my first ride on TSM.

My time as come. I was getting excited to ride this new ride.

229DHSbacktoTSM.jpg

As many of you already know the queue is amazing.

The posted stand by wait was 60 minutes. Since I had my FP I did not get the full queue but i would have to fix that someday too.

240DHSTSMblocksloading.jpg

How did I do ? Not too bad for my first time. I think this says 121,600.

247DHSKermithandprints.jpg

Right back to where I was before lunch. I think it was here that the lunch decided to fight back. A quick stop to the bathroom fixed all that but I think it was then I formally vowed never to eat at DHS counter service again for anything more than a snack.

Had to catch a flight to Endor.
249DHSSTPreshow.jpg

The announcement sound is my ring tone for text messages. I think I found it and set it after this trip but everytime I get in that ride I grab my phone at least once.:upsidedow

After Rex had nearly killed us (again ) I ended up going through the gift shop.
253DHSSTbuildownsaber.jpg

With nothing in particular I had to do, a walk around the lake was next.

Finally! You finally got to ride TSM!! Something I was not able to get to the last time we were there. :sad2:

Hope you had fun dilly dallying around the park waiting for your adventure. :goodvibes

The first of many rides. :) I spent more time in this park looking at details on this day. It was great to slow down and look at all the things I rush past when I am usually there.

Happy Halloween

Love all the pictures from your wanderings around DHS, there really is so much to look at there - the signs around the Muppets crack me up!

Yay for the first ride on TSM! :woohoo:

This trip I took in the details. I am not sure when I went back to catch the full queue of TSM or the inside at the muppets but I think I did that too. Between the shop and the waiting area in the Muppets I had a good laugh.

Next up is the lake area. I discovered a lot over there. I also think I still missed some. Another reason to go back. :thumbsup2

Hurray for your first ride on TSM! Funny how it is still as popular now as it was when it opened in 2008. The novelty certainly hasn't worn off in the least!
