Where Pixie-Dusted Birthday Dreams Come True! A July Trip Report! PTR Link! Pg. 116

I love the little walkway down by Le Cellier. And of course it is one of my favorites. I would have gotten the same meal as Chelsea WITH the mushrooms. She looks so happy getting that special call from Goofy. What a treat!

I do agree that as much as I like Le Cellier I don't think it's a 2 TS meal. Maybe they plan on upgrading the dinner menu.

Looking forward to your KP mission.

Your meal really does look like art. Weird. Was the salmon good though? Steak doesn't always agree with me anymore, so maybe with the mashed potatoes the salmon would be good...??

Chelsea cracks me up checking her makeup in silverware.

Yes, the salmon was very good -- I would definitely consider ordering it with the mashed potatoes.

That's my girl! :lmao:

Le Cellier...YUM!!!! And I do love that beautiful little path that leads to the restaurant

Yes, it was very pretty!

How cute that chelsea got a birthday phone call! Beth and I are now talking about a possible trip for my birthday next year...birthday wishes and Disney in it's christmas digs...does it get any better than that?!?!

That would be a great trip! I really don't think it gets any better than Christmas decorations and a birthday at Disney!

Great update~!
That's fun that Chelsea got a birthday phone call! & Le Cellier looks tasty, especially the mousse!

Thanks! Yes, I regret not trying the mousse. Charles and Connor said it was very good!

All caught up

Cute Italian waiters..huh. I might have to check that out, since I am half Italian and it would be to connect with my heritage.

I like that reasoning. ::yes::

I know how Chelsea felt about loosing the camera. I left ours at CM and luckily I noticed it was missing before we left the parking lot. DH ran in to see if it was still there and they gave him such a hard time. Of course DH couldn't remember what the camera looked like or the brandname, only that it was black. After scanning through the pictures on a camera they had just found and saw DH on it they turned it over.

What an ordeal that must have been!

The phone call at LeCellier..how cute. How did you arrange for that to happen?

Can't wait to read more.

Actually, it was completely unexpected! It was all the doing of the Le Cellier Cast Member and took us all by surprise!

Who knew that you could check your make-up in in flatware? :lmao: I'll have to remember that one.

I never would have thought of it!!!

Awesome update!! Le Cellier is sooo good! The patway is gorgeous... oh, and I think in one of your pictures, there is a hidden mickey cloud in the sky, lol! It is the 5th picture down!

Oh, I will have to go back and check it out! Needless to say, I didn't notice it at the time.

Aww, how cute was that birthday call? She looked so excited!

Chelsea was so tickled by that phone call!

YES, she is she is she is!!!!!!!!!

We have the goodies to prove it, too :wizard:

Same here!!! :goodvibes

Okay:

Makeup in the fork = FUnny. :rotfl2:

Chelsea is becoming a pro at using reflective surfaces as mirrors! LOL!

So Glad that Matt's Dinner recommendation/claim about the Prime Rib was okay by Charles -- I would have hated to ruin his first time at Le Cellier with a bad recommendation! Oh the PRESSURE!!!

 No need to feel pressure! You haven't steered as wrong yet! :thumbsup2

I agree WHY is Le Cellier going to 2 credits?? SO glad that we got our fill of that restaurant this past year! I don't think it is worth 2 credits on the DP either -- compared to Jiko or to Cali Grill? No way.

Not at all! If I am spending two table credits, I am headed somewhere like Jiko or Brown Derby without a doubt. I wonder if they will see a decrease in dinner reservations because of that...

Birthday call was tooo cute, very sweet surprise for sure.

We were all surprised by it! I am just glad I had the wherewithall to pull out my camera and take a picture of it!

Oh, and the Salmon, hmmmm... not sure what that side was either. Why not just a traditional, fish, side of potatoes and their veggies? That would have been perfect. Keep it simple.

Yes, I was expecting steamed vegetables and rice or something similar.

I hope there is a GG Slushie in your future. I feel ominous clouds...

AND I had to laugh about the frozen cappuccinos! Well, they are good, right? ;) Seems like you went back for another if memory reading serves..

Trust me when I say we have successfully found all the places in the parks that serve frozen cappuccinos -- it became our drink of choice in the mornings.

Frankly, I would LOVE one of those right now. I am on my treadmill. HENCE I am on the DIS... Soooo, perchance I will whip me up something like that when I am done!!! I got a mix! :thumbsup2

You have a mix for frozen cappuccinos? Do tell!

Cant wait to keep reading, and I hope the first few weeks of school have gone alright for you! Did I read you already counting down??!! :rotfl:

Yes, I am already counting down! We went to 100 minute blocks for reading/language arts this year, and I kept trying to figure out why I was so exhausted the past couple of weeks. Then, it occurred to me while I was grading the mountain of papers on my desk -- I am covering twice the material with the longer classes. No wonder I can't seem to catch my breath.

I am gearing up for next week -- teachers only. :sad2:
Say it ISN'T SOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Well, I got my hair cut and colored and new highlights to hide the gray, so I GUESS I can go back to school

:lmao: Yep, sounds like you are ready to go! :goodvibes

Great update! Lol to Chelsea checking her makeup :) I wanted to try Le Celier sooo bad in April but we thought that since we had eaten at Teppan Edo earlier in the day we wouldn't want to have another big meal, but we were wrong :( We were hungry and there was obviously no tables left......grrr.....we ended up eating at germany...pretzels and beer (for mom). I also didn't do the kim possible thing but would like to next trip! Can't wait for the next update!

Yes, getting a table at Le Cellier can be tricky. I grabbed our reservation six months before the trip and held onto it even when I thought we were headed to the beach. I just knew that if we ended up changing our minds and heading to Disney instead that I would kick myself for letting it go.

Ooooh LC Although your salmon does look a bit more interesting than appetizing! I couldn't decide if I wanted the risotto or the mashed potatoes so I got them both

The salmon itself was very good -- it was those strange sides that left something to be desired.

Too funny about Chelsea checking out her reflection in the flatware!! And how sweet that she received a phone call from Goofy!

Chelsea was loving all the birthday attention!

:goodvibes That Miss Anita Wigd....she sure is awesome!!

Tracy

Miss Anita is wonderful!!!

Enjoyed Chelsea's point of view. Felt bad for her, but I'm sure I would have steam coming out of my ears if I were in your shoes!

Your Cheddar Cheese soup looks yummy!

I just felt sick to my stomach during the whole camera crisis, but Charles was not pleased at all!

The Cheddar Cheese soup was my favorite part of the meal! :lovestruc

LOVE that Chelsea got a birthday phone call from Goofy! Her smile looked so big!

It was so cute how she was called over to take a phone call!

Le Cellier...definitely one of my favorites...so glad you got to finally try it! The pretzel bread and the soup...yum!!!

I could have licked the bowl I loved it so much!

Your kids were cracking me up with their silliness before dinner!

Can't wait for your next update!

They were definitely trying to find ways to amuse themselves. Hopefully it won't be an entire week in between updates this time!

cool tr.
and cute kids love all the sprinkles on the cake.
will be back to read the rest. I hav to go and make dinner;) (Lasanga from Pizza Hut)
Lisa:goodvibes

Thank you!!!! Hope you enjoyed your lasagna! :goodvibes

Yummmmmy LeCellier! Sounds like your family enjoyed their meal there - though the egg roll things with your salmon do look pretty strange!

Somehow I don't think I will be posting that they were my favorite side over on Leslie's pre-trip report.

I love that Chelsea got a Birthday phone call, that is pure Disney magic. :goodvibes

I just love how Disney does little touches like that -- it didn't cost a thing and made Chelsea's night!

How many KP missions? And does that have anything to do with the crankiness? :scratchin

:rolleyes1 Actually, we just did one, so it wasn't really the KP mission that caused the crankiness.

Finally all caught up again! :)

Hurray!

Laughing at your anxiety attacks about not sticking to plan and getting sidetracked at Innovations. Even though you know it is better to spend time doing what the family wants to do as opposed to slavishly following an agenda for park touring, I still get visions in my head of the fastpass machines dispensing hundreds of vouchers every 10 minutes, and the fastpass return times creeping up steadily in 5 minutes increments with each passing moment.:rotfl:

Oh, yes, that was exactly the vision going through my head!!!

However, sounds like 2 really interesting experiences (StormWatch, or whatever it is called, and Sum of All Thrills). We haven't tried either yet, but they are a must-do next trip. My husband is slow to embrace all things Disney, but he is an absolute weather fanatatic. The weather network is on at our house literally all the time. So I think that is something he would really enjoy. Plus, he is a pilot, so I think the flight simulator would also appeal to him. I will definitely keep these in mind for our next trip. As much as we LOVE Soarin and Test Track, it is always fun to try new things!:goodvibes

If your husband loves weather and flying, he would most certainly like Stormwatch and Sum of All Thrills! You must try them next time!

So glad you finally made it to LeCellier. I agree about your comments about the salmon though. Do you eat red meat??? If so, I highly recommend the filet next time. Did you try a bite of Chelsea's? If so, you still have to order it with the mushroom risotto...that is what makes the dish. And I say this as someone who abhors mushrooms. Seriously!;)

I did try Chelsea's fillet and thought it was very good!

What a great little extra with the phone call from Goofy!!!:goodvibes I have never heard of that! I am sure it was that much nicer because you weren't expecting it!:)

Can't wait to hear more!:goodvibes

Yes, a total surprise and such a great moment to add to the birthday memories Chelsea was making on the trip!

What a magical phone call. How fun! Glad you enjoyed the food minus the wierd egg rolly thingers. I  the soup and bread!!

That soup and bread were divine!!! They were my favorite part of the meal!

I love the little walkway down by Le Cellier. And of course it is one of my favorites. I would have gotten the same meal as Chelsea WITH the mushrooms. She looks so happy getting that special call from Goofy. What a treat!

Poor girl doesn't know what she is missing by not liking mushrooms. :sad2: I am the only one in my family who does like them. :(

I do agree that as much as I like Le Cellier I don't think it's a 2 TS meal. Maybe they plan on upgrading the dinner menu.

That would be interesting -- I would like to see what they do with it.

Looking forward to your KP mission.

Hopefully about mid-week I will be able to update again. I have all the pictures loaded and ready to go. :thumbsup2

I love the little kid look on her face while she's getting her phone call! Then back to teenage-hood with the makeup. :lmao:

I love the little kid look on her face while she's getting her phone call! Then back to teenage-hood with the makeup. :lmao:

That's pretty much par for the course right now -- one minute Chelsea is the "sophisticated" teenager, and the next minute she is giggling like a five-year-old.

Only time to check one TR today and its yours. Awwww - Chelsea looks so cute getting her birthday greeting. So glad you enjoyed your meal at Le Cellier. Sounds wonderful! I have had salmon there as well. I remember it being really yummy.

So what's this about someone getting cranky????? I can't wait to read about this. I hope its not an Epcot meltdown! :lmao:

Jackie, I love that Chelsea enjoyed the phone call and didn't act like she was too old for it! Great pictures. You know, we have never walked around England's shops...it is on our to do list for next time.

Glad you had a chance to go to Le Cellier. We did it on our first trip and DH just wasn't impressed enough to rebook it for either of the next two. With it being 2 TS I guess we won't unless we aren't on the dining plan.

Do you have a longer plan to go with the 100 minutes? When we were on block scheduling, I was able to accomplish more writing with the kids. I could have conferences, and my plan was longer to be able to grade more. It certainly takes time to adjust to the planning. We are back to 47 min classes. (We have been for a couple/few years, but transitioning back was hard for me. I had only ever taught 82 min periods!)

I can't wait!!! :goodvibes Chelsea was talking the other night about how we should go to New York City just the two of us. I think that would be a lot of fun, but I don't know how our boys would feel about being left behind.

That would be alot of fun for the two of you, plus I'd love it for purely selfish reasons as I could get a chance to meet the two of you. My mom and I love our girl only trips into the city.

I'm glad that you had a great meal at Le Cellier. After looking at the pictures I'm really hungry for cheddar cheese soup.

I had no idea that they did the Goofy phone calls at Le Cellier. I had heard about them doing them at the Brown Derby. What a great surprise for Chelsea!

We have never been able to get ressies at LeCellier. With it being a 2 credit dinner maybe it won't be so crowded.

I'm with Chelsea on the mushrooms. I'm the only one in the family that does not like them.

That was so cute of Chelsea being called by Goofy. I love this age when kids are transitioning between adulthood & childhood. It's sweet & sad at the same time.:thumbsup2

Your pics of Le Cellier made my mouth water! It's definitely my favorite restaurant at Disney. Sadly it's also the one place I where couldn't get an ADR that worked for us on or upcoming trip. Next time I'll be booking an ADR just as soon as I can!

Terri

Hi CP!! :wave2:

Sorry I've been away from the DIS for awhile; I'm slowly catching up on my TRs!

It's gonna take me a bit, but I just wanted you to know that I'm here and will be starting on page one!

Kathy

ETA: Oh, thank goodness for links!!!

Wow on the camera incident... so glad the Disney magic came through!

I really want to try the sum of all thrills and the storm attraction, especially after reading how much you enjoyed them!

Come stop by our group PTR if you get a chance... I think you know most of us!

Kathy

Just have to throw in my two cents here! Try an early walk-up at Le Cellier. They were taking them when we were there in July and the waiter said it wasn't unusual.
There were no ADRs to be had either....
Walk-up yes, ADR no
The place was empty!!

It must depend on when you go. I doubt there will be openings during free dining. Timing is everything I guess. I wonder how it will be when dinner becomes 2 TS credits? Maybe dinner will be easier to get if people on the DDP don't want to use 2 TS? Or the popularity will increase becaus people believe it must be so great it's worth 2 TS? Time will tell. I would go back, but might go for lunch (if the mushroom filet is available) or pay for it. Once Sarah's 10, I doubt we'll do DDP as much as I love the convenience, she just doesn't eat like an adult. Of course, we could order adult for Paige and kid meal for Sarah.

Oh, it's free?!?
Well forget that.
We typically just do out of pocket and use our TIW card when we eat there. So my hope is that the 2TS status will free up some times.

Glad that you all had such a great experience at Le Cellier! The birthday phone call was very cool. :thumbsup2

Chelsea checking her makeup in the silverware - classic teenage girl! :rotfl:

It was such a neat moment when Chelsea got that phone call! The salmon was very tasty -- it had been marinated in something that I really liked.

So what's this about someone getting cranky????? I can't wait to read about this. I hope its not an Epcot meltdown! :lmao:

Now you know us and Epcot...:rolleyes1

Jackie, I love that Chelsea enjoyed the phone call and didn't act like she was too old for it! Great pictures. You know, we have never walked around England's shops...it is on our to do list for next time.

Chelsea is a kid at heart! I think she takes after Charles and me -- we are still pretty goofy.

Glad you had a chance to go to Le Cellier. We did it on our first trip and DH just wasn't impressed enough to rebook it for either of the next two. With it being 2 TS I guess we won't unless we aren't on the dining plan.

That's what we were thinking -- we might still want to do it if we aren't on the dining plan, but there are still a bunch of places we want to try before going back there again.

(We have been for a couple/few years, but transitioning back was hard for me. I had only ever taught 82 min periods!)

Sadly, we do not have a longer planning. It's still 90 minutes. I have noticed I am able to do more with our writing units which I like.

That would be alot of fun for the two of you, plus I'd love it for purely selfish reasons as I could get a chance to meet the two of you. My mom and I love our girl only trips into the city.

We will get there soon. Charles has already mentioned wanting to come along because he says he is craving real New York pizza.

I'm glad that you had a great meal at Le Cellier. After looking at the pictures I'm really hungry for cheddar cheese soup.

That soup was soooo good. I start craving it every time I see the pictures.

I had no idea that they did the Goofy phone calls at Le Cellier. I had heard about them doing them at the Brown Derby. What a great surprise for Chelsea!

I had no idea about them, either. It was such a fun surprise!

We have never been able to get ressies at LeCellier. With it being a 2 credit dinner maybe it won't be so crowded.

I am curious to see if there is a drop in demand when it changes to 2 credits.

I'm with Chelsea on the mushrooms. I'm the only one in the family that does not like them.

Charles and Connor hate them, too. I love them -- especially on pizza and in salads.

That was so cute of Chelsea being called by Goofy. I love this age when kids are transitioning between adulthood & childhood. It's sweet & sad at the same time.:thumbsup2

::yes::

Terri

It was the first reservation I grabbed the morning I did our dining ADRs. Try a walk-up -- maybe someone won't show up for their ADR and they will release a table.

Hi CP!! :wave2:

Hi, Kathy! So glad to see you around the DIS again. You would really like those Innoventions attractions. I will head over to your group PTR -- I do think I know everyone going.

Just have to throw in my two cents here! Try an early walk-up at Le Cellier. They were taking them when we were there in July and the waiter said it wasn't unusual.

That's so odd! I wonder how it can be so empty, but there not be any ADRs available!

With Connor turning ten before this last trip, it was one of the reasons we decided not to do the dining plan. It is so much more expensive when you have two kids that count as adults. Connor likes to think he can eat adult-size portions but his eyes are always bigger than his stomach.

Oh, it's free?!?
Well forget that.
We typically just do out of pocket and use our TIW card when we eat there. So my hope is that the 2TS status will free up some times.

I imagine it is hard to get any kind of reservation during Free Dining.

Glad that you all had such a great experience at Le Cellier! The birthday phone call was very cool. :thumbsup2

Chelsea checking her makeup in the silverware - classic teenage girl! :rotfl:

The phone call was so cute! Chelsea is always amazing us with her "creativity."

You think your kids are up for making some new DIS friends? Looks like cherokeemomma is coming to the Atlanta meet and bringing her son and daughter.

what a fun meal! the salmon presentation though is what we used to call, in the restaurant business, more "interesting" than delicious.

:rotfl:

CUTE on the phone call!

Now that it's going to 2 TS I will never make it there.

Hi, Jackie! I came across your TR when I was looking for ideas for my kids’ birthdays. I was hooked! So, of course, I also had to read your other TRs and PTRs and I have gotten some great ideas! Especially for restaurants my kids and I will want to try. I’m really enjoying reading along :)

Hi, Cynthia! So glad you are back!!! Luckily, the salmon was very good -- just the sides were lacking in tastiness.

The phone call was such a surprise! I think I was as excited as Chelsea by it!

I am still a little shocked that Disney is trying to make Le Cellier a two credit meal.

Welcome!!! So glad to have you along! I can't believe you read all my old TRs and PTRs! :worship: Eating is definitely one of our favorite things to do on our Disney trips. LOL!
