We went to the big hermit crab race in Ocean City NJ yesterday, he had crabs racing in the 1st 2 heats, in both heats his crab came in 2nd, since there were so many races only 1st place advanced, So needless to say it was a learning adventure, I found out that you don't want to enter too early since all the main players are in the 1st few races, also alot of events that I didn't even know about, next year we will be better prepared:woohoo:

On the bright side the local newspaper took pics of my son and one of the crabs, they caught on that it was his 5th B-day, took down his info and said it will be in next weeks local newspaper, so hopefully we will have something for the scrapbook.

Oh no!!! Couldn't you teach those guys to go "Dale Earnhardt" on the lead crab?? You know...rubbins' racin' and all that:lmao::lmao:

Oh well, sounds like an increase in training regimen is required.....can't have them lying around getting all fat and lazy in the off season:lmao::lmao:

See already, we're coming up with ideas on how to manipulate your children for your own personal gain.

To quote an old instructor of mine:

"If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck" :lmao::lmao:

Just had to stop by and say
57 days till I'm in WDW!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

I need a break from both work and honey do lists!!

Sounds like you guys still had a good time despite not advancing to the next rounds. Your competition didn't stick any lead weights in those shells, did they?? :lmao: That's really cool about the local paper reporter being there and getting his info. Definitely sounds like a clipping for the scrapbook :thumbsup2

I OWN Page 49

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

It's the little things in life! :lmao::lmao:

You really need to get out of the sand.
I was thinking the same thing! :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Made it through a the night of being on call...now...leaving in a few hours for sandier shores (nope not Iraq, Fed) and ocean breezes!:dance3:

Almost could have met up with you! Got a last minute deal last night by email for one of the Myrtle Beach resorts this weekend. Almost booked it as a surprise end of summer trip but DW is still under the weather so it's a no go.:sick:

When I read the news today that they were putting the Peoplemover back into the name of the TTA for some reason I was really happy about it. I think it was because the parks were always meant to evolve and change with the times so you just come to expect things go away; when something comes back, even if it's just a name, it brings back memories with it.

So with that in mind, what is the one thing that you seem to always do at the parks that seems to be the constant with all your trips? I know for most people Space Mountain, Dumbo, Haunted Mansion are must rides but I'm looking for the little things, the stuff that someone visiting the parks for the first time now would probably overlook or even think "why is that even here?".

I'll start, we've been a lot over the last 2 1/2 years and there are some pretty big rides we've skipped on a couple of trips for no reason other than we were doing other things. But no matter what is going on we always end up on the TTA at least once every time we are in MK. I think it's one of those rides where you get to regroup and plan your next few things you are going to do in the parks. It was my training ground for DS to get him ready for some "big kid" rides, he always rides backwards by himself so every time it takes a corner he falls over and laughs.

Mine would be "Living With The Land" for some reason I can ride this ride (and have) several times in a row. Its relaxing and informative. My wife teases me everytime we walk into The LAnd, With a big sigh she will exclaim, " Yes honey we can ride it". :rotfl2::rotfl2:
That and a Mickey Mouse head Icecream on a stick! Dont get much better then that.

It's not an attraction, but every trip, whether planned or just by fate, we always seem to get Casey's mini corn dogs and fries while watching Spectro or Wishes. Are they any different than the frozen corn dogs that I can get in the 10 pound box at Sam's Club? Probably not. But the always seem to taste sooo much better while the family is sharing them while watching the fireworks.
