Awesome, Joan is here! I think that is a GREAT photo of you guys.
We also had "coldness" issues at BCVs the first night of our last visit. We ordered extra blankets for the rest of our stay and were very comfortable after the first night. I love BCV, it smells so great! I also love the smell at AKL Jambo - um, I must have something about smells.
Tinks "SS";36722252 said:Love the update!! Kara i'm ready for more from you!! I wanna make that trip one day. insert violins playing sad music for me. But alas, i have one coming up in a little over 30 days. yeah!!
Joan, i think you did a great job of an update.
Ellen, I love all the food porn that you took! I will have to break in my BFF about that soon. My family would just think that i have totally lost it if i start taking pics before they can eat.
Not to hijack but Mary Ellen, i so agree about pyscho patients. I cringe when i find out i have patients like that. Had a schizo and a wandering dementia one last weekend. Made for a rough time at work! Enough about work! MUST HAVE MORE!!!!!
Okay I have been following along for the last few days and WOW. It looks like you guys had a great time.
By the way. Pam and I live in the same town and I have to say I am soooo jealous. Looking back now I should have sneaked over to her house and hid in her luggage.
I am counting down the days to my July trip. Ugghhhh 10 months is too long between trips. You know it's funny some times I think I just don't get to Disney enough then I think about all the people who only get that once in a lifetime trip. I am such a whiner when it comes to WDW.
Awesome post, Joan! I know what you mean about feeling like you have known these ladies your whole life. We all met last year on the DISboards, became friends, and got to meet on their DISmoms1 trip, sans axes of course. (Hey....you never know nowadays, right?) It is nice to "meet" you here on the DISboards and I look forward to your updates as well.
Alan
I am howling laughing!! Can't even imagine how much fun you all were having together. Thanks for the lesson, Ellen, and yes we all bow to your superior DISness.
There once was a dog named Bucky
He thought he was gonna get lucky
Til one day it got stuck
The vet said "Kara you're out of luck
Cause to make it go down ain't real ducky"
Seriously, IT GOT STUCK and he couldn't walk!!! My poor baby!!!! So the vet (after laughing at me and saying he usually gets these kinds of calls on Saturday nights after a lot of drinking) told me if it ever happens again I might have to .... well, let's just say that he told me I might have to..... well, assist him in putting it away.
Needless to say, after several drinks around the world, the story was much funnier. And I can assure you that I will NOT be helping in any way! I will be taking him to the vet for professional assistance!!!
OMG I am finally caught up!!! Kara and Ellen you rock !!! I believe Ellen was told she was the smartest Dis MOM ..But Kara is still the "Sexie one" as in ITSK!!
Loved all the food porn pix and of course you ladies drinking your chocolate milk !!! Keep the laughs coming ladies !!!!
All I can say is.....POOR BUCKY!
OOOOH, yucky Bucky. Down boy!!
You guys are crackin' me up!!
Keep it coming Ladies !!!!!:
Hurrah! The DIS Moms ride again!! How terrific you got to go on another adventure. I am enjoying reading all about it.
I had no idea you could order take out cheese soup and pretzel bread at Le Cellier! And I call myself a DISer! Is there a number to call or you just order at the podium?
Loving all that chocolate milk you were drinking. But I have to agree that the jalapeno margarita has won me over. Ahhh.. the Ditch... would love to be there now!!!
Thanks for the review of the Mandara spa...definitely on my list for next time!
Can't wait for more!
Hey DisMoms - haven't been on for a while and just got caught up on your report tonight. Love, Love, Love it! You are all so fun.
Poor Bucky! (Or better yet, Poor Kara!)
Looks like you are all having a blast and can't wait for more.
Drea, somehow I think your drink would be a "Squirrely Temple!"
you moms are so funny! I'm almost speechless.
Ellen, I think those poor little Japanese ladies were a little intimidated by your expert DISmomness. That's why they sent you up and down the stairs - or maybe they wanted Kara to walk off her rounds of chocolate milk! Cpngrats on your 25th coming up. Are you going to Hawaii? We ditched our Hawaii cruise for our 30th, cuz I earned the Jamaica cruise with Arbonne this year, same month.
Kara, I think your vet is just strange. poor Bucky.
Joan, it's fun to see your thoughts here. You are definately and official DISmom!
I love the pressed coffee at Kona! I do love sweets for breakfast, but the Tonga toast was too much for me. I think I will have to try the Macadamia pancakes next time! The pics of the Poly are great, looks heavenly!
I hate the way the A/C turns off at night - so nice to have your guests wake up all sweaty and having trouble going back to sleep at night - I don't know how they think that could be okay We tried tying a balloon to a chair last time, but it was only semi-successful. I forgot to bring the override instructions with me. Looking forward to your next adventure!
WHAT??? some people have Wheaties... others Kahlua... its MY breakfast of champions LOL
me...? squirrely... never .. pish tash LOL ohh but now i do have a craving for vodka infused cherries... or vise versa depending on the day LOL
Thanks everyone for your welcomes and declarations of official "DISMomdom"....I'm honored...seriously!
Now where are we on this TR anyway? Ellen? Kara? Cammie? Anyone? I'm a bit bleary-eyed after surviving my daughter's birthday party yesterday with eighteen 13 year old boys and girls and nine of those girls sleeping over. My goodness, don't kids ever sleep these days?!?!?! Sounding a bit like MY parents even to my ears.....I was about to comment on their music!
You guys are so hilarious! I'm not a mom but I want to go on a DisMom trip!
Kara, you just THINK Bucky loved you before!! To quote cousin Eddie from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation: "He's got a little bit of Mississippi Mudhound in him, so you don't want him around if you're wearing short pants, if you know what I mean. But a word of advice: if he does let into you, it's best to just let him finish."
- Cousin Eddie, circa 1989
alan--i just spit my lunch out! That was awesome!!!
Subscribing. Your tr's are awesome. DH and I love reading them. Keep up the good work.
Hi there!! Too funny you and Pam live in the same town! Does she look at all familiar? And yes, you should have hid in her luggage-
I'm a whiner about Disney sometimes, too- we went every 2 years before DVC. Now I'm there 3x a year (plus HHI in the summer for another Disney fix) and it's not enough!! Don't get me wrong...I completely am thankful and appreciative that I get to visit so often. But just last night I was dreaming I was there, and that I couldn't believe my trip was already over. A HORRIBLE nightmare!!
I LOVE COUSIN EDDIE!!!! Cause we all have a cousin Eddie somewhere in our family.....
I may be MIA for a couple of days - movers come tomorrow to pack for two days and load us up on Friday. Don't know what my online status will be during this time.
Wish me luck!!!!

Good luck Kara! I know one of my moms stipulations for getting her to relocate when my dad was transferred years ago was that she had to have movers come in to pack and move our stuff, then unload the truck when we got to our new house. It was so nice!
As for hair, I am at the growing out phase from a chin length bob. LOL. My friend and I have entered into a pact that if ever one of us says we want to chop our hair off again, the other gets to smack the one who said it!
Ellen, we will be going down 9/15-19. We keep talking about how much fun, and TIME we will have there without the kids and we get giddy with excitement. We went on our honeymoon, and had an amazing time. Our 4 year old has been 3 times, and our 2 year old twice. We don't feel bad at all.
This is the best trip report! Love the updates from different DISMoms. The bantering back and forth is hilarious!
It's actually quite funny. Our kids go to the same schools and I remember one day one of us realized the other was on the DIS boards. It's always nice to find people that love Disney as much as I do. Especially when they are as nice as Pam is.
Hi Ellen. I'm here to be one of those creepy internet friends you mentioned in the first post. I caught this thread pimp on the Friendies thread.
I must say that I could easily blend in even though I don't have kids.
BCV is my home resort, so I'm familiar with the villas. I don't care for the Laverne and Shirley bathroom doors (in 1 BR/2BR villas) that lead everywhere, but I figured out a system immediately. And I've had the same coldness issues. Ceiling fans do help. As for the TV remote, I've had that happen a couple times at different resorts. I was able to speed dial someone to come and replace it, no problems.
I have only done the spa thing once, at the Grand Floridian, 10 years ago. I think it's time for me to re-visit the spa, but when do I have time?
And I guess I'm definitely guilty of sharing my love of the Ditch. Since I went there every day of my October trip, I managed to try quite a few varieties of margarita, some tequila shots, and of course, the snackables. The shrimp ceviche is my favorite thing, but I do enjoy those crab tostadas! I would live in the Ditch if I could.
Kona Cafe breakfast. Press pot coffee and Lilikoi juice.
Reason enough to eat there. I don't want to eat Tonga Toast unless I can share it. It's too much for me now. I've wanted to try the pancakes. Until I saw the Samoan. The pulled pork hash sold me. I really have to try it now.
I am enjoying your adventures.
