Awesome, Joan is here! I think that is a GREAT photo of you guys.
We also had "coldness" issues at BCVs the first night of our last visit. We ordered extra blankets for the rest of our stay and were very comfortable after the first night. I love BCV, it smells so great! I also love the smell at AKL Jambo - um, I must have something about smells.
I'm not so sure you'd still have the smell thing going for you if you stayed in OUR room!!!!

Love the update!! Kara i'm ready for more from you!!
I wanna make that trip one day. insert violins playing sad music for me. But alas, i have one coming up in a little over 30 days. yeah!!
Joan, i think you did a great job of an update.
Ellen, I love all the food porn that you took! I will have to break in my BFF about that soon. My family would just think that i have totally lost it if i start taking pics before they can eat.
Not to hijack but Mary Ellen, i so agree about pyscho patients. I cringe when i find out i have patients like that. Had a schizo and a wandering dementia one last weekend. Made for a rough time at work! Enough about work! MUST HAVE MORE!!!!!
I get in so much trouble for taking food porn pics. Ally always says, "wait, Mommy has to take pics for her
dis buds" as though that's a bad thing? Darn kids!
Okay I have been following along for the last few days and WOW. It looks like you guys had a great time.
By the way. Pam and I live in the same town and I have to say I am soooo jealous. Looking back now I should have sneaked over to her house and hid in her luggage.
I am counting down the days to my July trip. Ugghhhh 10 months is too long between trips. You know it's funny some times I think I just don't get to Disney enough then I think about all the people who only get that once in a lifetime trip. I am such a whiner when it comes to WDW.
She probably could have fit you in this time - next time, she'll have so much mole skin packed that she might have a tough time fitting in enough underwear! Jus sayin......
Kara, you absolutely crack me up!! Ellen, you are SOOO busted! The smartest DISmom?....as according to the lady in desperate need of individually-toed socks, circa 1974. That's hilarious!!! I was literally laughing out loud when I read this!! Kara, you rock!
So what you are telling us is that Bucky's "condition" entails him getting lucky? This limerick just keeps getting funnier!
What the limerick did NOT say, is that if the "condition" happens again, and he can't seem to, er, um, put it away himself, the vet suggested that I try to assist him. There is just nothing to rhyme with ANY of that!!! EWWWWW! You want to talk about a ITSK pic!!!!
Just be clear (and I'll type slowly so you don't miss it)....
THIS is the woman at the bottom of the stairs who said that I was the smartest DISmom-
Also notice that I was still finishing my Rita in this pic, the tequila fumes may have added to the confusion. And by the way....her socks are part of the traditional costume. DUH!!! Do I have to teach you girls EVERYTHING, Alan???
So no...not busted AT ALL!
Wait! That first pic, woman at the bottom of the stairs? She wasn't even a CM!!! She was a Japanese tourist!!!! No wonder she thought you were the smartest DISmom, didn't she ask you where the restrooms were????
Poor sweet Ellen, I'm glad you're so pretty!
What I want to know is this....What kind of socks is "Kaori" (aka the woman who said you were smart, er brilliant, whatever) wearing? Does SHE have toed socks on? Just wonderin'.....
Again, Japanese tourist..... that's my story and I"m sticking to it!
I'm with you on the Tonga Toast--it looks and sounds great, but my blood sugar would not do well with it! That Somoan would my choice, too!
I loved the Tonga Toast when I tried it the first time. Then Ellen convinced me to get the Macadamia pancakes. And I wanna be like Ellen when I grow up, so of course I did it. And I loved them!!! But the Samoan really surprised me! It was one of those good comfort foods, stick to the ribs kinda breakfasts. I think I might order that next time!
Joan - Great update for something like your 10th post! Very funny! It looks like you are having a great time in every picture Ellen has posted (and in every text message she sent me where you unknowingly giving a pictorial tour of Disney Day 1 to an internet stranger). You are smiling in every picture and I am dying cause I am at work and not scheduled to leave for two more days!
I love your list! Very funny! After that post I think you can consider yourself an official Dismom. You have earned that honor with distinction!
Mary Ellen
She was an official DISmom the minute I met her!!!!
sounds like buckey might need to read the warning that come on those little blue pills. Poor guy. I can only imagine how you guys were laughing at that.
Love the chocolate milk and the kool aid pictures. Tim will have to be the Designated Driver when we go to Epcot....darn staying off property. ( can you tell Im not too excited about it
)
So what color pill should I find him to make it go away!!!!!!
Great updates.
Tokyo Dining looks like a great place to eat and if you are lucky enough to get the window an awesome view of Illuminations
I love sushi and those pics were making me crave
Kara I noticed the Hidden Mickey, cool pic
Kona Breakfast looks awesome and I love that you got a mimosa to go with breakfast, fabulous idea
And here I thought Ellen intentionally posed Joan that way for the pic, but no, it was just my overimagination at work. Oh so my therapist says. Did not. Did too!
Loving the new TR and loving Kara's new hair!!
This TR is keeping me sane until my husband and I sneak off to the world to enjoy some adult time sans kids. We even talk about it in code around them..."When Mommy and Daddy go to Jumanji...".
. I'm not sure where we got Jumanji from, but they have no idea what it is..so it works.
That may be the last time you see my hair that short, but thank you!!! Getting it cut every three weeks to keep it looking "hip" just isn't cutting it, so I think I'm heading down the chin length bob road now.......
Jumanji!
Great movie!
As always, y'all know how to party ladies! I LOVES me some jalapeno margaritas!
Don't think I didn't notice the PLURAL margaritas, and I don't think that was by accident!
YUM! Those Kona pics...the food looks fantastic! I swear one day I am going to get that Tonga Toast...but then those pancakes look soooooooo good too! We have not stayed at the Poly yet either (one of the downfalls of living so close that we don't often get the whole WDW vacation "experience") but it is so beautiful...it is really at the top of my list!
Same problem here living so close. We usually only do one or maybe 2 nights lately. But the GOOD thing about doing short trips, we've stayed at resorts that we couldn't afford to stay at for a whole week!!!!
Hi everyone-
Its me, Joan, or wannabeadismom
.I really need a new name too as I feel that I am truly now a DISMom
.and its a great thing to be!!! I cant believe this TR is already nine pages long. No wonder Ellen gave me a stern, you REALLY need to post on the TR! today. Sorry about that, Mom!
Without going back over everything covered (and we DID do a LOT in the first 24 hours), I only want to say--
1.I absolutely LOVE this picture
.It truly portrays the DISMoms2 trip best!
This had to be the most amazing trip of my life. Doing the World with the DisMoms is truly the way to go. Who would believe that I didnt know four of the women until our arrival!?! I feel like weve all been friends forever. Disney has a way of doing that for people.

2.I dont think Ive ever laughed so much in my life
.my sides STILL hurt!
3.Who is that fat chick eating the cheese soup and pretzels? That cant be me! (But it was delish!
4.Skechers tone-ups are life (or feet) savers!
5.Love, love, LOVE absolutely everything about the Ditch.
6.Chocolate milk? Whatever you say, Kara!
7.All the Axe Murderer talk
.totally true!
8.It was COLD in the LR but, hey, I was in WDW and Im a tough old Iowa farm girl at heart. I can take it!
9.BTW, every day was a , Sunshiny Day! Ooops, its now in MY head!
10.The Samoan at Kona Café
.to die for. The perfect breakfast food, especially for me, who really doesnt like pancakes and the like for breakfast. Lots of delicious smoky, pulled pork
YUM! BTW, birthday shots and sake flight not a good mix, however this breakfast made everything all better!
11. OMG, Kara, that poor woman at TD with those socks. They look painful
.
12.Finally, I LOVE being part of a hidden Mickey. It makes me feel SPECIAL!.
Ok, thats it from me for now. Back to the REAL storytellers
JOAN! Imagine me sitting on a barstool (cause you really did see that a couple times) in a bar in Boston - okay so maybe it's Cammie you see..... and I'm the mailman sitting on the bar when you walk in. The bartender is a sort of nerdy guy, but the owner is there too and he's a retired baseball player. Hey, this would make a great TV show!!!!
And great use of all the smilies!!! But i need to delete some now so this post will go through.....
i'm in the mood for some japanese food now after reading about tokyo dining!
sounds like you ladies know how to have some fun!
See, after responding to all the Bucky comments, I read "Im in the mood for" and I started singing the ending..... ".....love" - I need help......
