BL Summer Challenge 2009

This week has seen a rise in the scale and I don't know why. I increased my veggie and fruit intake (maybe the fruit?) and also increased my exercise (finally -whew)! It did go down a little today, but not sure what it is going to be tomorrow.......especially since I have WI tomorrow because we will be gone.

Sorry to hear about your tummy trouble. That may throw your weight off a bit. Glad to hear its better now and your body will probably adjust. Way to go on the Whopper! It is amazing how as you give your body good things to eat that the stuff that is not so good doesn't even appeal anymore. Of course, it takes a lot of strength to get there!

Have a safe trip! My whole family is from Springfield, Missouri but not one has lived there for 40 years. My husband's family is from Iowa. We vacation in the midwest every year. Everyone is so nice and friendly there and the cost of living is super.

The thunder storms weren't too bad but our computers are hardwired so have to be shutdown when it is stormy. It was kind of cozy to watch the rain and hear the thunder. :cutie:

If I were at WDW right now, I would be at Animal Kingdom picking up a fast pass for Expedition Everest and heading back to ride Kilamanjaro Safari.

I can't wait my next trip. I get to make my ADRs next week. Oh goodness, I better start figuring those out now. Eeek!

Good luck with your ADRs. In theory, they have online ADR reservations now. You might was to give it a try.

Closed on my house today. Would have been better if I weren't feeling like total crap. Doc told me that to prepare for my procedures next week I have to take Milk of Magnesia before I go to bed since constipation is one of my symptoms. It did nothing for me. I ended up with some of the worst cramps I have had yet and feeling like I was going to hurl, not to mention it did psycho things to my blood sugar. The night before last I had cramps so bad I could barely walk. Makes it difficult to get anything done. Thank God I'm feeling a million times better now.

I'm not really coutning points or anything, I've been bouncing back and forth between my parent's house, my new house, and my current apartment, each a 2 hours drive from eachother. I figure once I get moved in I can really get serious.

Tomorrow evening we take DD17 to see her #1 college on her list. Well technically it's the only one she wants to consider......kids can be so stuborn. It's in Missouri and we are driving it will be about 16 hours to get there. We are also taking a side trip to Kansas to visit my Dad and my two great Aunt's on Father's Day. It's awesome that it works out that I will get to see my Dad on Father's Day. Woo hoo.

Sorry I haven't been on much the past two days, my tummy was off yesterday and I didn't feel that great. I basically ate anything I craved since nothing sounded good. I ended up with 1500 calories, so that wasn't bad at all considering I wasn't feeling good and I was just eating anything that remotely sounded appealing.

Today is better but it was still a little off. It was easier though to eat healthier things.

Tonight though I was craving a Whopper and I even got the money back from my MAC card to go. But as I was driving back towards the restaurant I talked myself out of it and I came home and made a bowl of oat bran with a little raw honey and raw coconut butter on it. Way healthier and a lot less calories than the whopper. Yeah me for making a better descision.

Sorry the QOTD is late, busy day at work - I've been working 10 hour days this week and then tonight I had to pack and grab some stuff from Target, the grocery store and get more cat food from the vets.

The rise in the scale could be from the increase in exercise. I've heard your muscles retain more water as you increase the amount of exercise you do, so hang in there. Hope you have a good weighin today, and have a wonderful weekend. 16 hrs is such a long drive, but I'm sure it will be fun time spent with your daughter. Nice work on the whopper.

Love the qotd. I would have just watched the opening ceremony at MK, with a few tears in the eyes, and we would be riding buzz lightyear about 6 times in a row, walking right on until a line builds up. Then we'll head to fantasyland for the classics, building up a big appetite for our lunch at Crystal Palace. Ahhhh, I wish I was there.

Jessi, this is such a busy time in your life and it is made more stressful by feeling ill. Soon your move will be behind you and you can get yourself taken care of and back on track. I would just concentrate on maintaining and taking care of myself for now. Good luck! That would be so amazing! Well, since it's 10 am already in the land of the Mouse, we'd probably be at Disney Hollywood Studios, just having finished our Playhouse Disney character breakfast (DD loves Little Einsteins) and on our way to the Great Movie Ride. :yay:

If I were at WDW today just myself, I would be in the basemet of the Tower of Terror! Woo hoo!

I am SO hoping to get my 30lb clippie tomorrow. Last time I was doing anything like this well, I stopped just short of getting that golden clippie, so it is something I've wanted for a LONG time!

I'm off to the zoo with the kiddos today. I hope it does not rain!
 


Wednesday QOTD: If you could go to WDW right now- Where would you be and what would you be doing?

It's now 10:45 on a Thursday. Today is the MK Morning EMH and the Epcot Evening EMH, so they are both totally out! I always stay onsite, but I tend to avoid the EMH parks when I can as I think they get more crowded. That leaves AK and DHS. I would have to go with DHS today since yesterday was an evening EMH and today is the perfect day for the park. Given the time, I am probably riding on my Toy Story Mania Fast Pass :).

Nice job avoiding the Whopper. You should go to the BK website and find out just how many calories you avoided!! I think you might be SHOCKED if you never looked before. And if you have been feeling icky, I'm sure that the oat bran was kinder to your system than the Whopper would have been!

Well.... I did okay staying mostly OP on my birthday. I did have a small margarita with my dinner (I hadn't had one since my birthday last year!!). It was good, but not worth the calories and not worth the $6 it cost!! I had 2 1/2 onion rings from the appetizers my family ordered. I got the Steak and Portobellos WW meal but I ordered double steamed veggies instead of veggies and potatoes. We did go out for ice cream afterwards. I did enjoy a small cone of real ice cream and I TRULY enjoyed it (peppermint stick!!). That was it for birthday eating. I'm sure it will effect the scales tomorrow, but I'm okay with that. It was certainly a far sight better than my birthday splurges of the past. And I have wedding food to look forward to this weekend.

I'm thinking of joining Curves for the summer. I am hoping to encourage DD to join with me. She really gets inactive when swim season ends and she is not self-motivated enough to regularly exercise at home. I'm hoping that by doing it WITH me, that she will be encouraged to exercise more.

Well... Kindergarten is calling my name. Just 6 more days (not including today) of school... it seems like we are going FOREVER this year.

I love just walking down Main Street, listening to the music and soaking in the amazing atmosphere. I would finish up ANOTHER ride on BTMRR (kids love it) and be planning our lunch at Peco's Bills! Then a few more rides and we would find a spot for the 3pm parade...................P

Right now, its 11:30am so I'd be getting hot and ready to head into Mickey's Philharmagic to enjoy the show before deciding what we were doing for lunch. I love that show - next time, it might not be as magical because youngest DD will be too old, for believing the 3d effects and really trying to grab everything like she did at 20months and 3yo.

Good afternoon gang. I just want to share some great news. I was at my Doctors Office today for a Physical. The Nurse weighed me I weighed 190 pounds which is 3 pounds less than what I was last week. My EKG was Normal I will know soon what the results from my Blood sample was. My Doctor was happy that I lost so much weight from my Last visit last year:thumbsup2

Do you do not have to do the entire COW. You can do bits and pieces of it that work into your plan. It is just there to motivate you and to help you think about developing new habits. THis will be a progressive thing. As the weeks go on I will be adding to these new habits

Wednesday QOTD: I would be performing in one of the parades or shows at Magic Kingdom. :) I'm very sad that the Disney Dreams Come True parade has been retired, since I opened it. I haven't had a chance to see the new one.

I had WI tonight and gained .8. I honestly expected it after running around all week eating fast food and having such a big loss last week. It could have been a lot worse, so I am happy. At least I didn't gain back all the weight I lost last week! I've had that happen before and it's so discouraging.
 
I'm having a mad rush this morning so it's just a quick post and then I'll catch up on everything next week.

I had yet another gain I am now 203.5 pounds. I just can't seem to get back on track.

What do you do to push you back on the straight and narrow?

To the person who said I should go dancing again (sorry haven't got time to go back and check right now), thank you, you really gave me a sign that I have been looking for. I appreciate it so much. More on that later.

Good Friday morning. It is not raining here in jersey for the first time all week.

I am the same as last week. My eating has not been the best because I have so much on my mind.

Last 4 days of school are always crazy. Then 1 week from today I am having my bunion removed and will be on crutches for a week.

I went to my doctor yesterday for the final pre op check up. The surgery almost got cancelled since the hospital did and EKG and said that there was a problem. Almost 4 years ago I was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat (PVC's for those who know these things). It is a minor electrical problem that has been able to be fixed by just changing my bp medication (even if my bp gets to 90/30 I am still going to be on medication). I have had this all checked out by a cardiologist and my internist does an EKG on me once a year. This new problem threw us. SHe then did another EKG and it was fine. So I am off to surgery next week.


Congrats SpsMTn on the great report from the doctor. I am hoping for one just as good in Aug when I go back for my annual.

It sounds like you had a great birthday and sounds like you had control over dinner and prepared for it. For the upcoming wedding food, remember to try and eat healthy before going, drink lots of water and take small portions and even smaller bites. You can do it!!:cheer2:

That small gain could also be from bloating, stress, etc. Stick to your plan as close as you can during the craziness and you'll be fine. :thumbsup2

Just remember that a gain this week doesn't mean you need to have a gain next week. Start today as a fresh day, make small changes toward your plan that are reasonable. Make sure you are drinking lots of water too, that is always a help for the body.

QOTD - What are your weekend plans and how do you plan on keeping them healthy?


Today shouldn't be a problem...tomorrow, we have a ball banquet at 9am which is including a breakfast then we have a luncheon to attend at 11:30:scared1:...my plan is to eat OP today, drink plenty of water before leaving in the morning and eating a piece of fruit and because the banquet and luncheon are so close together, I will have a small amount at both places then fix a healthy dinner at home tomorrow with some fresh veggies. I'm sure we'll take FIL out for Father's Day on Sunday but that shouldn't be a problem at all.

Thankfully we were able to get most of our weekly errands ran yesterday, they are saying it is going to be around 95 today so my plans are mostly in the house. I need to get cards made for Father's Day today, continue cleaning in the craft room, laundry and do some general house cleaning. The kids are going to breakfast with the grandparents this morning so I'll have a nice quiet start of the day;).
