Post Your Wedding Cake

This isn't a 'Disney' wedding cake but I'm so dead proud of it I wanted to show it off as my mum made it!

It had fine piping to match the lace on my dress and 100 swarovski crystals over it so it was all sparkly. My mum also had the swarovski lettering on top made in the states and shipped over to the UK. She gave them to me as a surprise present the night before my wedding, I was over the moon and it was the final princess touch to everything! (and the top teir was a chocolate fudge layer just for my DH, the rest was fruit cake)

The photo makes it look a lot smaller than it was..it ended up being over 2 ft high

Here's our cake! I brought the idea of the Swarovski Jewelry bands around each layer to Disney so I can say I was the "first" disney bride with it and now they have a HUGE cake on display at Franck's. Too funny!
Cake Flavors:
Bottom: Yellow Cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh raspberries
Middle: Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting
Top: Yellow cake with raspberry mousse

And both the 2nd and 3rd tier were DELICIOUS! (I'll let ya know about the top in December)

I love your cake! I am planning a VR for October 2010. I haven't been able to find very much info on planning a Halloween themed wedding. I am thinking of having a Haunted Mansion theme. I really enjoyed reading your trip report, also I was wondering where you got your ring casket?

Thank you!! I had a hard time finding things for a Halloween wedding, I had to be innovative. The ring casket actually came from a gourmet chocolate company, but I had the artist nix the chocolate, and paint the casket customized according to our wedding colors, the website name was Bridget Adelaides, I may have spelled it wrong, just google it and you should be able to find it. A Haunted Mansion Theme would be awesome, there are so many things you could do for that! As for the TR, I hope to finish it soon!

The Grand Floridian bakery did a full custom job for us. I sent them a copy of the invitation, and they did the rest...

2 tier hatter based cake

Haunted mansion theme, organ pipes with skulls coming out, hitchiking ghosts, pictures from entry hall.

That is cake is awesome!

We took ideas from all the mad hatters to get it to look like this...I probably could have done without all the roses (and i didn't ask for them, either), but overall it was beautiful and we loved it and everyone raved about it...
