I have seen in the past, an unofficial list of conventions scheduled for CSR. Could someone point me to that?

We are just back, and we had a wonderful time. We stayed four nights five days, all of our room requests were granted..Cabanas 9B, renovated room, it was lovely. In particular I really liked the sliding doors that closed off the whole bathroom and sink/closet area from the main part of the room.
I also like the down comforter and how it is covered with a sheet instead of a bedspread. It was comfortable to use and stylish too. We were upgraded to a water view from a standard view room, an added bonus. ( Although next time I will request first floor, as we were on the opposite side of the building as the elevator, and we had an infant/stroller). The location of Cabanas 9B was very good, but not as convenient to parking as we would have liked since we drove our own vehicle instead of taking the bus.

The main caveat, for us, was that we did find the beds too firm for our liking. We sleep on a very soft bed at home so this was a little hard (no pun intended ;) ) to get used to. That was our only complaint however...we really liked CSR! We had fabulous housekeeping service (not one towel animal but two!, and all the H20 products we could possibly use). We had also at first asked for a crib then canceled it at check in (since we had brought our own, but then just decided we didn't want to bother dragging it up and assembling it) and called from the park to once again request that a crib be brought to the room (this was about 7-8 PM) and it was there (inside, assembled) when we arrived at 10. We were very satisfied with that!

We absolutely loved the Dig Site pool and the lovely grounds. We had good food and strong drinks from the Siesta Bar. The Pepper Market we only went to at breakfast, and for that it was really expensive. One belgian waffle and four pieces of bacon was $11.00  . Food was good though.

We did not hear a peep of noise from our neighbors until the last morning. Even then it was very muffled noise. The "suits" although present (Waste Management of FL was one company in attendance) did not bother us a bit. The conventioneers we saw were very professional, polite, and definitely well-behaved.

Overall, we had a fantastic stay and we were very happy with CSR. Very nice accommodations at a decent price for onsite (we used Fl residents rates), friendly CM's and great service.

A very special thank you to Buzz and KatMark and everyone else here who helped us make the most out of our stay!! :thanks: :goodvibes

Maybe CSR should have it's own category since it has a little more amenities then the other Mods but not as much as the Deluxes.

Yeah, many hotels don't fit perfectly into Disney's categories (the cabins and AKL both come to mind), and I think with the addition of Queen beds, CSR has separated itself from the other mods. It would certainly be my first choice if I was staying in a mad.

Hi all...I read on the moms panel to call the room assigner 3 days prior to arrival regarding a specific request. Has anyone tried this method instead of faxing?

When you call the resort you actually get a call center NOT the front desk. At the CSR, we have found the faxes work fine.

we just got home (2 hours ago) from our stay at Coronado Springs.
We stayed in the Ranchos 7A room 7150.

this room DID NOT have queen beds i read about nor flat panel tv nor matching decor (drapes, bedding, wall paper boarders, carpet, etc)

just thought I'd let everyone know. because we read here that all rooms were probably converted. not all are. we asked a few on our bus who stayed in 6A and they too had double beds with the older 20" tv's.

Hi Everyone,
We returned today from CSR and had a good time. We celebrated our family's second grand gathering at the resort with 9 total rooms and 28 people. We requested building Cabanas building 8A through our TA and I faxed a letter; but the families who arrived earlier in the day in our GG were told we were assigned to Casitas 5. I arrived later in the day and requested switch over to 8A - the CMs were more than happy to try to accomodate us; and did find rooms in 8A; however, the 4 families in our GG who arrived earlier decided they didn't want to move after settling in (you know how it is when you travel with family :) ), so we all decided to stay in Casitas. I did end up enjoying the building itself - even thou it was not remodeled but did have new beds. They had upgraded us to water/fountain view at no additional cost, and we were all on the first floor fairly close together. The buses were very crowded this trip and we noticed some longer wait times for transportation; most times it was standing room only on our trips to the parks during the morning hours and later at night.
The resort itself - and the parks - were definitely more busy than our 2007 trip during this same week (2/19-2/28). I knew going in it was Mardi Gras and therefore LA state vacation week; and I believe Michigan school break coincided with this week as well this year (per a CM in DHS). Unfortunately when traveling with a large family the crowd levels impact what you can accomplish and we had difficulty - even trying to follow touring plans.
Overall we had a great time however, now we're back in the 20 degree northeast weather and missing DW already!
Buzz sorry I never had a chance to track you down in the pool area - it was a little chilly the first few nights but we still braved it and headed to the hot tub. Oh, and I discovered my new favorite drink - Frozen Banana Daquiri - yummy!

PS My comments just reflect how things were in comparison to our 2007 GG trip; which was spectacular. As my DH said today "the sequel is never as good" :) But it was still very enjoyable.:thumbsup2

they told us king beds were going to go in a section in the casitas not too far from the beach area. forgot what they told me. they had it marked off with caution tape. they were doing painting when we walked by that section.
i was just a bit disappointed in the decor. looked like everything just thrown together by a 5 year old. but again just a place to sleep.

Day 6:
We slept in again on Tuesday. Then we decided to have breakfast at the PM. I had the skillet breakfast which was scambled eggs, potatoes, sausage with a corn muffin. The coffee at the PM is very good. My DD had the Mickey head waffles and DW had coffee and a muffin.

Then we used some of this day to tour some of the other moderate resorts. We visited CBR so we took a bus to DHS and then over to CBR. The bus turned in and we got off at the first stop. The resort seemed nice. We walked towards the pool and food court on the main path. This place is definitely larger than CSR. The food court seemed like something at a mall with the burgers, pizza and regular fast food stuff. The store was in the food court and was small. We walked out by the pool. It was surrounded by a tall, iron wrought fence. From pictures, it looked huge but in person, it was small. It would fit inside the Dig Site pool. The hot tub was smaller than CSR’s too. One thing I didn’t care for was that the pool wasn’t visible from all areas. Some chairs are behind structures limiting your view of the pool and your kids. The new pirate ship area was cool but it wouldn’t interest my DD or older kids. I expected more beach area but they had a few small areas around the lake. It looks like a nice place but nothing that would sway me away from CSR

After our visit, we took a bus to DtD to have some lunch. We had a $15.00 voucher at Planet Hollywood with a free keychain voucjer so we decided to take advantage of both. We haven’t been to Planet Hollywood since 2000 so it was nice to revisit it. I had the turkey club sandwich. It was good, your avg club sandwich. My DD had the bruschetta. This came with garlic bread and a spread. It was very good. My DD got the potato skins and they were also very good. None of use were starving so we all shared bits of each others. Over all, the lunch was worth the trip to DtD. My DD want to check out some of the stores while we were downtown so we spend a few hours shopping.

After DtD, we went back to the resort. We decided to head to the Magic Kingdom for the night. We did a few of the mtns, HM and Mickey's Philharmagic! It was a bit on the chilly side this evening. The crowds were there again but we just did like the other night and hit the rides while everyone was watching the fireworks and parade.

We stayed at CBR during President's week and I have to agree that the pool area is great for young children. I think my boys missed having the basketball hoop at the edge of the pool like at CSR (if they still have it). And although I found CBR to be ok I didn't love it. So I think next year it's either a deluxe resort or CSR again. I am also considering renting points which we've done before.
Are you planning another trip next February too?

I'm sorry that you did not receive a renovated room. May I ask a question? Did the beds in your room have a black base? A solid base beneath the matress as in nothing could get under the bed?

All of the matresses HAVE been switched to queens. Most people cannot tell the difference between a double and a queen.

A double has the dimensions on 54”X 75”.

A queen has the dimensions of 60”x80”.

So in reality, the switch is only 6" across and 5" longer.

Secondly, it has been very well explained in the Coronado Springs FAQ that the renovations of the rooms at CSR to the new decor is ONGOING until Sept or Oct of 2009.

As far as this thread goes, I think its absolutely ridiculous that people are arguing over someone COMPARING Coronado Springs to a deluxe.

The thread title did not read "Disney changes CSR to Deluxe!". As far as misinformation goes, the actual WDW website lists CSR as a Moderate...so it easy enough to check the classification.

I love CSR and I think it has amenities that make it more deluxe than the other moderates. I'd actually rank it in a similar category to WL & AKL but that is just MY OPINION. Last I checked there was still freedom of speech and opinion.

Hi everyone! My family and I stayed at CSR back in 2005, and I'm so excited to go back again in May!!

As far as the renovated rooms go, when should I request a refurbished room? Should I do it now or when I arrive in May? And no worries, I know that the request is just a request, not a gurantee. Thanks!! :upsidedow

You should call now and add your request to your ressie. Then you can request at checkin as well as sometimes I do not think they see all requests.:goodvibes
Come on May! I'm staying at CSR too in May!

I would wait until you get there. I'd put in a request now if you want a specific section of the resort, but then wait until you get there, and with a smile on your face, ask if possible to get a rehabbed room. By May they will seven months into it (it's scheduled to be done by October 09) so your chances will be a little better. We've not seen them yet, and can't wait to see them in person in September.

Hi everyone! We are going to CSR for our 2nd stay at this particular resort (Nov. 2009). When we booked about 3 months ago, they told us that they did not have club level rooms. We called back about 2 weeks later to ask another person and they told us the same thing - "no club level."

But, I know I just saw about a dozen pages back that Buzz stayed at club level - right?! Or am I just seriously "wishful thinking"!? :)

I've got 2 rooms booked and would love to upgrade - but do I waste time calling again?? :confused3

Buzz - the pictures you posted of the newly renovated rooms look terrific. I am looking forward to our next trip.

I will answer on behalf of Buzz. After a trial run, they decided that it was not worth the money to have Club Level for regular resort guests. They could not justify the cost. Therefore, Club Level is only available to convention guests.

HOWEVER, if there is no convention happening at the CSR, guests can be put into Cabana 9B--they just don't get the Club Level privileges.

I stayed in building 9B in January however, we did not have access to the Club Level Lounge.

Can anyone answer for me, where are the Bus Stops located at each park for CSR? We have stayed at CBR and found that their bus stops seem to be the furthest away from all the rest. I didn't really understand how the stops are laid out, but just curious about CBRs. Thanks in advance.
